On The Meaning of a Window of a Certain Death Row Inmate
This paper focuses on the window of a certain death row inmate's cell and clarifies the meaning of the window. As a result, the following two points were clarified.
1.Through the poetry of the depiction of the mind, the eye, the window and the mind become inseparable and united. His own eyes overlap with those of his mentor, Kitasanga. The Window is not just object, but "window of the mind" .
2.What is seen in "window of the mind" is "consistent human truth". Writing poetry was the act of producing such words, and the window is the "source of life" that produced such words. He rests in a "source of life" window.departmental bulletin pape
Effectiveness of Psychological Support in IT Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: an Interpretation
Cognitive-behavioral therapy is used for treating depression and other conditions, along with assisting people experiencing depression in daily life. A previous study found that when this method was applied to athletes using a computer system, it was effective when instructors intervened. This study offers an interpretation of those results based on the assumption that the method is also effective without intervention of the instructors. The subjects were two athletes who had completed a 5-week program. The K6 and TAIS suggested psychological characteristic changes before and after the program trial. departmental bulletin pape
Translation and Annotation of “Continuation of Ancient Mathematics (緝古算経)” Vol. 3
“Continuation of Ancient Mathematics (緝古算経)” was written by early Tang dynasty calendarist and mathematician Wang Xiaotong some time after the year 626, and was listed as one of the Ten Computational Canons (算経十書) compiled during Tang dynasty. The aim of our studies is to provide a complete translation and annotation of the book based on a series of our researches on ancient Chinese mathematical books.
This is the third article, in which we treat with the problems 6 to 9.『緝古算経』は初唐の暦学者であり数学者である王孝通によって626年の少し後に書かれたもので、唐代に編纂された算経十書中の一書である。我々の研究が目的とするのは、我々の一連の中国古算書研究を踏まえ、同書に完全な訳と注を与えることにある。
本論文はその第3 号であり、算題[六]~[九]について扱う。departmental bulletin pape

The “Revenging Mummies” in late Victorian and Edwardian Literature
A considerable number of stories about mummies were written in the late Victorian and Edwardian eras and are generally divided into two types: love romances about English male characters falling in love with perfectly preserved and fascinating female mummies, and tales of horror featuring monstrous male mummies attacking or plotting against British people taking vengeance for the colonial sins committed by the British empire. The backdrop for these latter stories is British political and imperial power prevailing over Egypt from 1880s to 1910s. This paper analyzes the stories and male mummy characters in the fiction of W. W. Jacobs, “The Monkey’s Paw”(1902), Arthur Conan Doyle, “Lot No. 249” (1892), Guy Newell Boothby, Pharos the Egyptian: A Romance (1899), Richard Marsh, The Beetle: A Mystery (1897), and Ambrose Pratt, The Living Mummy (1910); and considers several characteristics of male mummies and compares them to differences found in female mummy stories.departmental bulletin pape
