    Debt, Sovereignty, and Money: A Brief Comparison of D. Graeber and Aglietta et Orléan

    Here we compare D. Graeber’s Debt(Greaber 2014) and M. Aglietta et A. Orléan’s ed. La monnaie souveraine (Aglietta et Orléan 1998), particularly from the perspective of money theory. First, we extract and summarize money theory in Debt, then we look at the central content of La monnaie souveraine after giving an overview of the claims of Aglietta et Orléan’s La violence de la monnaie. Then, Graeber’s criticism of the “primordial debt” theory is examined while confirming the concrete content of La monnaie souveraine. Based on the above, the direction of money theory centered on credit money suggested by both discussions will be sketched.本稿では,D. グレーバーの『負債論』(Greaber 2014)とM. アグリエッタ・A. オルレアン編『貨幣主権論』(Agliette et Orléan 1998)を,主に貨幣論という観点から比較する。まず『負債論』における貨幣論を瞥見し,次いでアグリエッタ・オルレアン『貨幣の暴力』の主張を概観したうえで『貨幣主権論』の中心的な内容を見ていく。そしてグレーバーによる「原初的負債」仮説批判を,『貨幣主権論』と照らし合わせながら検討する。以上をふまえ,両者の議論から示唆される信用貨幣を軸とした貨幣論の方向性が素描される。departmental bulletin pape

As a result, from three perspectives, it is difficult for researchers working in Japanese companies, especially large companies, to move to or reemployed by other organizations, and professionalism that continues self-improvement is required as the personnel system reforms that emphasizing results. This leads to researchers feeling inadequate or “burned out”.     A Bogie Abnormality Detection Method Using Model Railway Equipment

    The purpose of this study is to detect any abnormality of bogie operation in advance for preventing serious railway accidents. Concerning detection of bogie abnormality, the air spring puncture condition, the abnormal condition of the shaft damper and derailment detection have been studied extensively. However, research is difficult for detection abnormalities caused by the cracking of a bogie side girder in an actual car. We carried out an experiment by inserting a crack in a side beam part of a model truck instead of an actual car. Our results show vibration acceleration can be calculated to detect the crack, and a threshold for abnormal condition is proposed.departmental bulletin pape

    Municipal Management of Waste Treatment Facilities: In the Context of Public Facility Administration and Sound Material-Cycle Society Policies

    Waste incineration and resource recycling facilities were studied. Our observations were analyzed within the framework of proposed “sound material-cycle society” policy and public facility management. The following points were clarified.  Since 91% of the municipalities have less than 150,000 residents, it is necessary for smaller cities and townships to cooperate with the construction and maintenance of facilities designed for use across multiple jurisdictions.  Lufuran at Miyama City is a facility that uses food waste as a resource. In constructing this facility, the number of facilities was reduced by using two methods of public facility management, namely, consolidation and elimination of facilities and conversion to a complex facility. As a result, the construction and maintenance costs were reduced.  The consolidation and abolition of environmental facilities in Chikugo Nanakoku, 7municipalities in southern Fukuoka prefecture, was studied for the next 50 years. Rather than maintaining the status quo, priority was given to the construction of circulation facilities and the consolidation of waste incineration facilities, which can reduce the construction cost by 10 billion yen and the annual maintenance cost by 750 million yen.     Study of isotope separation via chemical exchange and electrolytic enrichment

    大阪産業大学博士(人間環境学)2021年度48Ca is a double beta decay nuclide (ββ) with a natural abundance of 0.19%. It is used in CANDLES (CAlcium fluoride for studies of Neutrino and Dark matters by Low Energy Spectrometer) project to study neutrinoless double beta decay (0νββ). CANDLES aimed to investigate the lepton number non-conservation towards the understanding of a matter and anti-matter asymmetry,Majorana nature of neutrino, and the absolute mass of the neutrino. However, in order to search for such an ultra-rare event, a large amount of 48Ca is required. The industrial-scale isotope enrichment methods are inapplicable for calcium isotope. Therefore, this research aims to investigate the cost-effective way to enrich calcium via chemical exchange using DC18C6 crown-ether. The first milestone is the production of grams scale for super heavy elements production. Afterward, a kilogram scale is profitable for the medical use of 46Ca and 47Ca as an in vivo radiotracer, then towards a ton scale for the CANDLES project. Simultaneously, the increasing demand for lithium isotope for the energy supply on tritium production from 6Li in the nuclear fusion reactor, a pH controller of 7Li, is outstripping the current supply of lithium isotope production. This research, on the use of crown-ether and liquid-liquid extraction, could benefit the isotope separation and enrichment and potentially replace the mercury amalgam method that causes the environmental problems. The isotope composition analysis was measured by (reaction-cell) ICP-MS (RC-ICP-MS) (Agilent 7700 and 7900) and compared to TIMS (TRITON, and MAT261). Careful collection of the isotope composition measured by ICP-MS was described to overcome the mass bias.The comparison measurement of calcium isotope composition measured by ICP-MS and TIMS was found to be in good agreement (CC = 0.72, and 0.72 for TRITON and MAT261, respectively), indicating that the measurement by ICP-MS had a reliable outcome. On the other hand, spike 7Li samples were used to assure the measurement of lithium isotope composition and assure the obtained separation factor. Liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) using DC18C6 crown-ether was carried out, and several fundamental factors were studied, including the presence and absence of crown-ether in the organic phase, the extraction time, various feed concentrations, temperature dependencies (– 15 to 45 °C), solid-liquid extraction, and the contribution of 12M HCl were carried out. The distribution coefficient (D) of lower Ca and Li concentrations showed a significant increase under the presence of 12M HCl. The separation factor (αorg) was consistent with aqueous solvent at 0.991±0.004 for HCl acid and 0.990±0.004 for aqueous solvent (30% w/w).Multistage iterations of calcium were carried out. The results indicated the enrichment of 48Ca under the presence of HCl acid. The maximum separation factor (αaq) of 48Ca/40Ca was increased up to 1.007±0.004 on HCl solvent. In contrast, the aqueous solvent was found to be 1.004±0.004 at the 6th iteration. The iteration stages required to achieve ten times enrichment were 2112 and 3793 for HCl and an aqueous solvent, respectively. The other concentrating element is tritium electrolytic enrichment, which, like calcium and lithium, is an isotope exchange reaction dominated by the nuclear mass effect of the lighter isotope. The tritium enrichment was carried out by the electrolytic using solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) film. This research carried out the improvement on the temperature cooling system. We applied the water and air circulation system and assured that those samples were acceptable. The water circulation system enhanced the enrichment factor up to 13.9±0.2, and the combination of the air circulation system improved the enrichment factor up to 16.0±0.2. This study was conducted toward the international joint research project between Thailand and Japan. The motivation of this collaboration was the nationwide survey of tritium in Thailand before the operation of firstly nuclear power plants. Tap water samples were collected from Thailand. Shinshu University and Kyoto University also collaborated for trace element determination. The study can improve Thailand's international nuclear safety and safeguard potential.doctoral thesi

    Mechanism of Wind-Induced Foliage Sound Generation

    Wind-induceed foliage sound is generated when wind causes grass and leaves to rub against each other. Dead leaves lose moisture and reduce mass, causing the leaves to become stiff. The frequency of wind-induceed sound of dead leaves is higher than that of green leaves. This paper analyzes the results of a sound experiment using four types of leaves, which are readily available. Leaf mass and rigidity were compared. After collection, mass decreased daily, and over a 10-day period the leaves were about half of the original. However, rigidity varies widely between the different species of leaves and is 1.5 times the maximum. An analysis model, using sandpaper attached to cardboard was prepared and rubbed together to generate sound. The results show that sound frequency of actual leaves and the sandpaper model were relatively similar.departmental bulletin pape
