    Fenomenologija s stališča lvovsko-varšavske šole

    No full text
The aim of the paper is to examine the views on phenomenology developed by representatives of the Lvov–Warsaw School (henceforth: LWS). The paper shows that, firstly, there is a significant genetic connection between the LWS and Husserl’s phenomenological movement. Secondly, members of the LWS have developed a coherent understanding of phenomenology, which they regard as an autonomous philosophical science of essence. They particularly appreciate the fact that phenomenologists are committed to making clear distinctions. However, they are skeptical about the reliability of Wesensschau, as it is based on immediate insight rather than deduction or induction. Furthermore, they consider the works of phenomenologists to be obscure. Thirdly, their criticism of phenomenology is similar, though less radical, to that offered by analytic philosophers, such as Moritz Schlick, Gilbert Ryle, and Rudolf Carnap.

    No full text
The text seeks to define the term “lived experience of God” and delineate the scope of investigating this concept in the context of Friedrich Hebbel’s dramas. The meaning of the lived experience of God is established through the lens of intentionality. In a narrow sense, lived experiences of God are those experiences, in which God is the direct and proper intentional object. In a broader sense, lived experiences of God include experiences whose intentional object is not God, but is nonetheless related to God. The experience of God is studied both in its noetic as well as its noematic character.Besedilo skuša opredeliti têrmin »doživljanje Boga« in obmejiti domet raziskave tega pojma v kontekstu dram Friedricha Hebbla.

Human papillomavirus-related oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma exhibits enhanced radiosensitivity despite limited activation of cytosolic DNA sensing pathways and innate immune responses

Pharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (PSCC) is a significant health concern, with human papillomavirus 16 (HPV16) playing a key role in the etiology of oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC). HPV16-related OPSCC exhibits enhanced radiosensitivity compared to HPV16-unrelated PSCC, yet the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. As HPV16 oncoproteins E6 and E7 are known to interfere with innate immune signaling, we investigated how modulation of cytosolic DNA sensing pathways and innate immune responses changes after irradiation (IR) and whether this contributes to enhanced radiosensitivity in HPV16-related OPSCC. Materials and methods Using HPV16-related and -unrelated PSCC models, we examined baseline expression levels of DNA sensors and cytokines and assessed the effects of IR on double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) accumulation, activation of cytosolic DNA sensors, cytokines, and immune cell infiltration both in vitro and in vivo. Analyses were performed using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) and immunofluorescent staining. Results HPV16-related OPSCC exhibited a distinct baseline expression profile of DNA sensors and cytokines, consistent with suppression of the stimulator of interferon genes (STING) pathway. While IR-induced activation of DNA sensors was dose- and time-dependent across models, HPV16-related OPSCC showed selective activation of cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS) and STING without significant cytokine upregulation or immune activation. In contrast, HPV16-related and unrelated PSCCs displayed activation of multiple DNA sensors, increased cytokine expression, and enhanced immune cell infiltration following IR. Conclusions The key finding was that the involvement of cytosolic DNA sensing pathways and innate immune system do not increase radiosensitivity of HPV16-related OPSCC. In PSCC models, DNA sensor and cytokine expression varied depending on IR dose and fractionation

In 1934, the National Museum in Ljubljana purchased a collection of thirty-nine noble portraits from Jožef Breznik, a landowner at Kog near Ormož. The paintings were part of the estate of Antonia Kofler, née Baroness Dienersperg, the former owner of Breznik’s property. Half of the portraits came from the Dienersperg family from Dobrna near Celje and the other half from the Barons Adelstein from the Dobrnica Mansion near Dobrna, where Antonia’s grandmother came from. In about 1832, Antonia’s grandfather, Baron Franz Xaver Dienersperg, the owner of the Dobrna and Dobrnica mansions, added uniform inscriptions to the portraits at Dobrna. These were the sixteen portraits of Styrian and Carniolan Dienerspergs and two portraits of their relatives from the Hohenwart and Strassberg families, which were given the collective name Galeria Dienerspergiana. A single painter is signed, the hitherto little-known Andreas Peric. One of the earlier oil paintings was believed to be the portrait of Regina Constantia von Dienersperg, the long-forgotten youngest daughter of the Carniolan polymath Johann Weikhard von Valvasor

Odsotnost delavcev v slovenski industrijski dediščini

    Get PDF
The article points at the importance of (re)interpreting industrial heritage through the lens of workers’ experiences. After identifying difficulties in shaping industrial heritage in the context of post-socialist and post-indus-trial transformation, it examines industrial workers’ experiences of the closure of the Mura garment factory. Industrial heritage is presented as a potential site of value creation for the labour invested, where workers could regain their self-esteem, social respect and recognition, and where their dispossession could be acknowledged.Članek opozarja, da je industrijsko dediščino pomembno reinterpretirati skozi vidik delavskih izkušenj.

The author’s research on Romani and Sinti musicians from north Slovenia has revealed several methodological obstacles. The author dealt mainly with deceased Romani and Sinti musicians, their absence from the archives, silence among their descendants, and anecdotal information. This paper therefore addresses methodological approaches to fragmented data, and the silence, absence, and distortion in the archival and ethnographic sources, exploring how to turn these impediments into a productive scholarly endeavour. V članku obravnava metodološke pristope k pomanjkljivim in popačenim informacijam, k tišini, molku in odsotnosti v arhivskih in etnografskih virih ter k preoblikovanju teh ovir v produktivna znanstvena prizadevanja

Z zavezanostjo transla-cijskim raziskavam, interdisciplinarnemu sodelovanju in prenosu znanja v klinično prakso smo pomembno prispevali k razvoju sodobne onkološke terapije v Sloveniji in širše. The twentieth anniversary of the Department of Experimental Oncology marks an important milestone in the history of research activities at the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana. Research activity at the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana has a long and strong tradition, dating back to the establishment of the first laboratory for experimen-tal cancerology at the Brežice Hospital by Asst. Prof. Dr. Cholewa. Since 2005, the small laboratory with six employees has grown into a modern research group of more than 20 researchers who are success-fully implementing the vision of translational oncology, particularly in the fields of electrochemotherapy, gene electrotransfer, bleomycin electro-sclerotherapy, radiobiology, and veterinary oncology. With our commitment to translational research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the transfer of knowledge into clinical practice, we have made an important contribution to the development of modern oncology therapy in Slovenia and beyond. We successfully completed a phase I clinical study, which demonstrated the safety and efficacy of plasmid gene electrotransfer with IL-12 encoding as part of the SmartGene.si project. In addition to scientific and research work, the department is substantially involved in educational activities and is a part of strong domestic and international networks in the field of biomedical applications of electroporation. We look forward to future collaborative efforts in further developing experimental, translatio-nal, and clinical oncology

Contested memories and the dynamics of remembrance in Slovenia related to the Second World War

    Get PDF
The article illustrates the dynamics of (collective) memory and remembrance related to the Second World War in Slovenia in the period from the beginning of the War to the present. Still today, there is a strong polarization in Slovenian society and especially among political elites about what “really happened,” who was right and who was wrong. During the War, the division arose between two major groups: 1) the members and supporters of the National Liberation Struggle (NLS), the so-called Liberation Front [Osvobodilna fronta], i.e. the Partisans2) those who collaborated with the occupying forces, especially the Slovenian Home Guards [Slovensko domobranstvo], and their supporters. The contribution is framed by the propaganda that was shaped during the War, by the collective memories that were consolidated during the period of Socialist Yugoslavia and the contested memories that emerged after the independence of Slovenia in 1991. All these facilitated and created the divided memory that is even now evident in Slovenia. The historical analysis is based on newspaper articles and other publications published during the war and in the years following the war by both groups. Furthermore, to understand the turn after the independence of Slovenia, the authors also analyze the Interim report of the Commission of Inquiry into the investigation of post-war massacres, legally questionable trials, and other such irregularities, which took place in Slovenia between 1993 and 1996. The article raises the question of how to alleviate the bifurcated situation to look forward with more optimism to a more nuanced view of the Second World War. Based on previous research, the authors argue that a “middle voice” approach can—in the long run—lead to a more constructive dialogue in Slovenia
