Governing Body Corporate Governance Framework: Preliminary evidence-based in Malaysia corporate integrity value creation

Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) are companies with commercial objectives in which the government has a direct controlling stake, especially in major decision-making. However, the lack of commitment to maintaining the integrity standard as a governing body's core value has led to the GLCs underperforming in terms of consequences. In previous studies, the qualitative method was used to provide the article with a conceptual framework for corporate governance by governing bodies. The framework was infused with a commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 16, which promotes the rule of law and good governance as a fundamental element

Development Dilemma of Feminist Art in China

In the 1980s, Western feminist art was introduced to China, and Chinese female artists began a series of feminist art practices. However, in recent years, the development of feminist art in China seems to have become problematic. Based on this, this study aims to identify the developmental dilemmas of Chinese feminist art using qualitative research methods. The findings reveal that the development mode of feminism, public prejudice against feminism, the lack of feminist art theories, the gender imbalance in the art world, and the mentality change of female artists are the main reasons for this predicament

Enhancing Accountability in Indonesia's Village Fund Direct Cash Assistance: Insights and lessons learned from the COVID-19 Pandemic

This study explores the accountability mechanisms in Indonesia's Village Fund Direct Cash Assistance (BLTDD) programme during COVID-19, combining New Institutional Sociology theory with Behn (2001) accountability framework. Through qualitative analysis of four case studies in West Java, findings reveal strong financial accountability but significant shortcomings in fairness and performance. Coercive pressures from government regulations primarily drive accountability, with minimal influence from mimetic and normative pressures. The study recommends enhancing fairness and performance accountability through equitable distribution, performance metrics, and refined regulations, alongside fostering best practices, professional development, and broader stakeholder involvement to improve overall accountability

Impact of Virtual Influencers on Brand Attachment: A Multigroup Analysis

This study explores the impact of virtual influencers on brand marketing by examining their unique attributes—identity appeal, persona identification, AI-generated  content,  and  interaction  quality—on  consumer  brand  attachment.  Using  data  from  358  Chinese  followers, multigroup  analysis(MGA) reveals  that  identity  attractiveness  and  perceived  anthropomorphism  enhance  persona  identification,  while  content  and  interaction  quality  drive parasocial interactions. However, persona identification does not significantly influence brand attachment. These findings fill a gap in virtual influencer literature, providing practical insights for marketers to leverage virtual influencers more effectively in brand strategies to boost consumer engagement. Keywords: Virtual Influencer; Brand Marketing; Brand Attachment; Multigroup Analysis

Understanding the Bidding Process in Crowdsourcing Platforms among Freelancers

Freelancers play a vital role in crowdsourcing platforms, offering a diverse talent pool and winning projects through bidding. This study qualitatively explores the bidding processes among Malaysian freelancers and their motivation to bid. It recommends implementing governance mechanisms, optimizing bid strategies, enhancing freelancers’ education, and promoting ethical bidding practices. Future research should consider larger sample sizes, multiple data collection methods, and platform data analysis for quantitative insights. Platforms should also invest in educational resources to equip freelancers with in-depth knowledge about the bidding process, project evaluation, and proposal writing

Symbolic Benefits in Glass Products Incorporating Cultural Heritage Elements

Previous studies have shown that integrating cultural elements into product design can improve the added value of products. However, there are few studies on examining the manifestation of cultural added value. In this study, the researchers worked with 12 designers in related fields to collect 146 glass products with cultural heritage elements and identified 10 product samples for case studies. The results show that product benefits were found in six main aspects: beauty, fun, faith and ethics, symbolic image, sense of identity, and unique creativity. This research will contribute to the innovation of glass products and help improve their added value

Leveraging YOLOv8 in Orifake: A deep learning system for combating counterfeit logos

The proliferation of counterfeit logos necessitates efficient methods for brand protection. This study addresses this challenge by introducing Orifake, a deep-learning model leveraging YOLOv8 (You Only Look Once) for logo classification. The model analyses logos (Adidas, Nike, Puma) for subtle features like colour, patterns, shapes, and textures. The evaluation demonstrates an average recall of 78.5%. Notably, Orifake excels at identifying fake NIKE logos (recall: 94.9%). However, further refinement is needed for original NIKE logos due to their lower mAP-95 value. This research highlights the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) logo detection for brand protection against increasing online fraud
