Bridging the Gap: Assessing PrEP Uptake and HIV Prevention among At-Risk Populations in Malaysia
HIV remains a major public health concern in Malaysia, particularly among men who have sex with men, sex workers, and people who inject drugs. Although national prevalence is low (0.4%), new infections among individuals aged 18–39 are increasing, driven by sexual transmission. Since 2018, pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) has been introduced, yet stigma, financial barriers, and cultural sensitivities hinder uptake. This narrative review analyses national data and literature to identify implementation challenges and propose solutions. Findings highlight the need for integrated primary care, subsidies, education, and community engagement to promote PrEP as both a preventive and health equity measure
Effectiveness of Celastrol in Reducing Inflammatory Cell Infiltration via H&E in the Liver of High-Fat Diet-Fed ApoE-Knockout Mice
High-fat diet (HFD) promotes liver inflammation by increasing infiltration of inflammatory cells. This study analyzed the effect of celastrol on hepatic inflammation in ApoE-knockout mice on HFD. Treatment with celastrol (1.5, 2, or 2.5 mg/kg/day) for 4 weeks, followed by liver tissue staining with H&E. Quantification of infiltration areas was obtained with NDP.view 2 software and analyzed with the Kruskal-Wallis test. At the maximum dose (2.5 mg/kg), the inflammatory cell infiltration of the liver was significantly decreased in comparison with untreated HFD controls. These results justify the potential use of celastrol as an anti-inflammatory in diet-induced liver inflammation
Effects of a Structured Alternative Program on Maternal Satisfaction and Labor Duration in Primiparous Women
This study evaluated the effects of a Structured Alternative Program (SAP) on pain management and maternal satisfaction during childbirth. SAP involved non-pharmacological techniques aimed at reducing labour pain and enhancing the birth experience. A total of 127 primiparous mothers were randomly assigned to either an experimental group (SAP) or a control group (epidural). Findings showed that the experimental group experienced shorter durations in the first and second stages of labour and reported higher satisfaction. A negative correlation was found between labour duration and satisfaction. SAP offers a natural approach to pain relief, improving maternal confidence and overall childbirth experience
Evolution of Technique Theories in Traditional Chinese Ink Painting: A document analysis
This study explores the historical evolution of technique theories in traditional Chinese ink painting. The findings review that the development of these theories has been profoundly influenced by Chinese sociocultural context, while also reflecting the impact and integration of Western artistic concepts in the modern era. Through document analysis, this paper constructs a systematic framework to comprehensively understand the trajectory of technique theory in ink painting. The research deepens the understanding of traditional Chinese ink painting techniques and provides both theoretical support and practical reference for contemporary artistic creation and art education
Evaluation of Digital Interface for Traditional Cultural Education based on Eye-tracking Technology
This study evaluates the effectiveness of digital traditional cultural education using eye-tracking technology. By analyzing participants' visual behavior, attention to key content, and cognitive load during digital learning, the study highlights both the advantages of visual and interactive design in enhancing learning outcomes and challenges like information overload. A mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative eye-tracking data and qualitative interviews, revealed insights into optimizing digital education design to improve learning experiences and outcomes
Art as Therapy: Juxtaposition of colours inspired by sensory feelings into fiber sculpture
Art therapy is a relatively new tool in humanistic psychiatry. Art therapy is concerned with the human mind, that is, the emotional world of a human being, with the human soul. Encompassing all of these aspects in creation, play, beauty, communication, and intuition, artists transmit their emotional worlds through art, and spectators or readers let this world pass through their sensuality. Art can be viewed as a reflection of real-world events, emotions, and sentiments. Through feelings, art widens a person's inner world, motivates us, teaches us to be empathetic, and imbues a person with personality.
Mediating Role of Green Knowledge Management in Improving Business Sustainability: Questionnaire Development and Validation
A questionnaire is developed to explore the determinants of business sustainability among women micro-entrepreneurs in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The theoretical model is underpinned by the Resource-Based View and Knowledge-Based View, where Green Knowledge Management plays a mediating role in the association between financial literacy, entrepreneurial competence, digital inclusion, governmental support, and business sustainability. A pilot survey of 116 respondents using a self-administered questionnaire was conducted. Reliability and validity were measured using Cronbach's alpha. Satisfactory reliability (α > 0.70) and sampling adequacy were confirmed in all constructs, and low-loading items were eliminated
Personal Knowledge Management in a Relationship of Knowledge and Digital Workplace Tools Adoption
The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) explains technology adoption intentions. However, it offers limited attention to personal knowledge capabilities required for actual use. Correspondingly, this study aims to examine how Personal Knowledge Management (PKM) influences use behaviour of digital workplace tools among manufacturing employees. Data was collected through a questionnaire survey from 323 employees in Selangor and analysed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that PKM has a strong and significant effect on use behaviour (β=0.398, p<0.05). Implications include recommendations for digital upskilling programmes, limitations, and directing future research
Factors Influencing Youth Participation in Sustainable Development Goals through CSR Program
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is an effort by businesses to allocate their resources to assist the development of mutually beneficial and long-term relationships with their communities. This study explores factors that influenced youth participation in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through CSR programs. Using a quantitative method and respondents residing outside urban areas in Malaysia, the findings revealed that all variables influenced youth participation in SDGs through CSR. This study is beneficial for youth and CSR for innovative solutions aligned with environmental, social, and economic sustainability. This study provides recommendations for integrating youth voices into CSR strategies for greater SDG alignment
Climate Risk Disclosure and Firm Performance: Evidence from Malaysian public listed companies
This study examines the association between climate risk disclosure and firm performance among publicly listed companies in Malaysia. Regulators and market participants are increasingly concerned about how companies address climate risk and the potential benefits of doing so. This study focuses on three key components of climate risk disclosure: governance, strategy and risk management, and their impact on firm performance. Based on 214 observations, we find that only climate risk management is positively associated with firm performance. These findings offer policy implications for climate action that companies should consider, particularly in emerging markets and voluntary disclosure environments like Malaysia
