Influence of Gadget Usage Behaviour on Exercise Motivation and Psychosocial Well-Being of Adolescents in West Sumatra
Get PDFThis study investigates the relationship between gadget use, exercise motivation, and psychosocial well-being among 672 high school students in West Sumatra, Indonesia (aged 16–20). Using a cross-sectional design and PLS-SEM analysis, instruments measured gadget use (reliability 0.980), sport motivation (0.960), and psychosocial well-being (0.944). Results show gadget environment and negative impacts reduce motivation, while parental support increases it. Motivation strongly predicts psychosocial well-being (β = 0.750; f² = 1.900). The model explains 12.1% variance in motivation and 68.7% in well-being, with a good fit (SRMR = 0.065). Findings highlight parental support and digital control in enhancing adolescent health

Get PDFIn the digital era, cultural heritage is not only preserved physically but also negotiated through media such as Instagram. This research explores how Cirebon Palaces uses Instagram to emphasise symbolic power and cultural legitimacy. Using an interdisciplinary approach and social semiotics grounded in Bourdieu and Hall's theories, this study analyses visual content and narratives to examine how symbolic power and cultural legitimacy are constructed and contested through multimodal representation on Instagram. The results show that Instagram is used as a space for symbolic power contestation by Cirebon Palaces through ceremonial images, royal symbols, and historical narratives that are strategically used to strengthen legitimacy

Drawing on Lacan’s psychoanalytic framework and Deleuze’s geophilosophy, the study analyses the shift from Adisucipto Airport as object a (desire) to YIA as das Ding (drive), generating sublimation and new fantasies surrounding modern airport experiences. Clean Air Preservation through an Eco-Art Installation utilizing Microalgae Cultivation Media
Get PDFThis article presents the creation of an eco-art installation that integrates microalgae cultivation through a photobioreactor (PBR) system. Motivated by ecological empowerment and clean air preservation, the work combines artistic research with technological innovation. Inspired by Tatlin’s work and a previous eco-art project, the piece titled “Repeating Pillar Structure” uses transparent acrylic pipes to circulate microalgae for CO2 absorption and O2 production. The installation serves a functional environmental purpose and offers contemporary aesthetic value suitable for public spaces. This project demonstrates how art can engage ecological issues by blending scientific methods and creative practice to foster environmental awareness

Conducted online from June to August 2023, the survey involved 101 participants (88 non-smokers and 13 smokers) aged 18 and above from various faculties at UiTM Shah Alam. The questionnaire assessed responses to the campaign logo and two selected electronic posters from the Ministry of Health Malaysia's official website. Findings offer insights into students' familiarity with anti-smoking campaigns and the effectiveness of digital posters in promoting a smoke-free environment

Grounded in the Three Factor Theory of Anthropomorphism and Emotional Contagion Theory, this study builds a dynamic model within a positive psychology framework to explore how anthropomorphic packaging influences positive emotions. Three experiments confirm that anthropomorphic design significantly enhances positive emotions, with empathy as a mediator. Visual cues are more effective than verbal cues. The study offers practical insights for optimising anthropomorphic strategies in emotion regulation and product design
