What Is the Current Landscape and Future Direction of Frailty Research?
Frailty is a significant concern in geriatrics, associated with increased risks of disability, hospitalization, and mortality in older adults. This bibliometric analysis examined 171 peer-reviewed articles from 2003 to 2025 using VOSviewer and Bibliometric to identify major research trends, thematic clusters, and emerging directions in frailty parameter studies. Four key clusters emerged: mobility and gait, muscle biomarkers, clinical assessment tools, and intervention strategies. The findings reflect a growing interdisciplinary focus and highlight the need for culturally adapted research in low- and middle-income countries to support improved health outcomes and targeted policies for aging populations
Cultural Institutions as Engines of Lifelong Learning: Exploring the role of museums in community development
Museums are increasingly recognized as vital resources for lifelong learning, cultural engagement, and community development. This paper examines their roles in fostering informal education through interactive exhibits, community programs, and digital platforms. Findings highlight museums’ contributions to personal growth, social cohesion, and cultural preservation while addressing challenges like funding constraints and evolving visitor needs. By analyzing strategies and successes, the study offers actionable insights for enhancing museums’ impact on communities, providing a valuable resource for educators, policymakers, and cultural advocates
Environmental Influence on Sustaining Recycled Materials in the Creative Works of Nor Tijan Firdaus in Contemporary Malaysian Art
This study investigates how environmental pollution issues and sustainability influence contemporary Malaysian art through the artwork of Nor Tijan Firdaus. Using recycled electronic waste, her art reflects personal and societal concerns about environmental degradation and sustainable material use. Through a qualitative approach involving observation, interviews, and documentation, this research investigates the creative process of Nor Tijan Firdaus, positioning her within the context of Malaysian contemporary women artists, materials, visual symbolic and the meanings embedded in her artworks. Her consistent use of recycled materials highlights a systematic framework driven by environmental awareness. The study emphasizes the role of contemporary art in promoting sustainability and enhancing public understanding of the ecological, social, and cultural value of recycled materials in visual expression
A Conceptual Framework in Integrating the CIPP Evaluation Model and Quranic Dimensions in Tahfiz Education Programmes
Tahfiz education in Malaysia is transitioning from traditional practices to a holistic model integrating naqli and aqli knowledge as outlined in the DPTN and TMUA. Yet, existing evaluations still focus mainly on memorization, with limited attention to spiritual formation, character development, and programme sustainability. This conceptual paper proposes a CIPP-Quranic Evaluation Framework that combines the CIPP Model with maqasid tarbiyyah Islamiyyah for a more holistic assessment. Through literature analysis, this paper synthesizes classical evaluation theories and tahfiz philosophy. Findings depict that integrating CIPP with Quranic dimensions enables a comprehensive, improvement-oriented framework for future standardisation and empirical validation
Factors Influencing the Acceptance of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) among Primary School Teachers in Malaysia
This study examines the factors influencing Malaysian primary school teachers’ acceptance of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Data were collected through a questionnaire survey, and an integrated model combining TAM, UTAUT, and UGT was tested. The results indicate that cognitive need, social need, affective need, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and effort expectancy significantly influence attitudes toward BYOD. In contrast, performance expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions were not significant. The findings highlight the importance of targeted professional training, infrastructure, and policy communication to enhance BYOD readiness in primary schools
Mapping the Knowledge Landscape of Tuition Fee Research in Higher Education: A bibliometric review with insights for future
This study aims to map the global research landscape on tuition fees in higher education through a Bibliometric Analysis of 497 Scopus-indexed publications using VOSviewer, Biblioshiny, and OpenRefine. The findings reveal a substantial increase in research activity since 2010, with dominant themes focusing on tuition fees, financial aid, and access. Research collaboration remains limited and largely Western-centric, highlighting the need for broader global engagement. The study provides valuable insights for policymakers and scholars addressing equity, affordability, and sustainability in higher education
Integrated Waqf Information Governance and Institutional Performance: Mediating Roles of Achievement Culture and Competence in Malaysia
Waqf is an important tool for socio-economic development including for the education, health, and welfare of the society. However, its full potential is limited by governance and data management. The proposed model suggests that a structural model exists between internal factors (religiosity, monitoring, investment management, Shariah compliance) and institutional performance through integrated waqf information governance as mediated by achievement culture and management competence. The direct and indirect effects will be tested through a quantitative survey of waqf managers using PLS-SEM. The expected implications are that institutional performance would improve with the implementation of information integration, facilitated by an integrated results-oriented culture and skilled data handlers. The goal of this paper is to rigorously define the proposed model and its empirical validation methodology. More specifically, the purposes are: (1) to construct a digital governance gap in Malaysian waqf management; (2) to propose research hypotheses underpinned by the RBV and institutional theory; and (3) to sketch out for PLS-SEM for validation. The research advocates and supports ethical digitisation based on maqasid Shariah
Assessing the Monetary Valuation of Ecosystem Services in Ulu Bendul Forest Park
Ulu Bendul Forest Park supports biodiversity, livelihoods, human well-being, and eco-tourism, making its conservation a key priority. Yet, without an economic valuation framework, its ecosystem services risk being undervalued. Using contingent valuation (CVM) and a 300-person willingness-to-pay (WTP) survey, this study applied Binary Logit and Binomial Probit models. Mean WTP was RM24.71 (probit) and RM22.25 (logit). Gender, occupation, income, and perceived ecosystem benefit significantly increased WTP. The logit model slightly overestimated WTP, showing good consistency. Findings guide policymakers in land use planning and resource allocation to safeguard the park’s ecosystem services for future generations and inform future conservation research
Optimizing Cash Waqf Social Responsibility (CWSR) through Digital Waqf: A strategic approach for Malaysian social Micro-Enterprises (MEs)
This study explores the innovative strategy of digital cash waqf to enhance social responsibility among micro-enterprises through small contributions to waqf or non-profit entities. Using a qualitative approach and thematic analysis, it investigates how digitalisation streamlines the donation process, overcoming previous challenges. A key motivation is technological opportunism, where enterprises leverage digital platforms to boost visibility and participation in social causes. The study advocates for a transparent and accountable digital waqf ecosystem. Findings highlight the role of philanthropy in fostering generosity and community engagement, offering strategic insights for policymakers to encourage enterprise-waqf collaboration for sustainable social impact
Aligning Social Impact Assessment with MADANI Principles for Inclusive Development in Malaysia
This paper examines the alignment of Malaysia’s Social Impact Assessment (SIA) governance with Malaysia MADANI values in advancing inclusive development. Using qualitative document-based policy analysis, it analyses PLANMalaysia’s SIA guidance (PPSIA, 2023), the Town and Country Planning Act 1976 (Act 172), and official MADANI policy documents. The analysis focuses on participation, safeguards, transparency, and monitoring. The findings identify three recurring governance gaps: participation remains largely consultative, safeguards for vulnerable groups and cultural rights are unevenly operationalised, and post-approval monitoring and accountability mechanisms remain weak. The paper outlines evidence-informed options to strengthen governance coherence and inclusivity consistent with MADANI-oriented development
