Role of Sound Effects and Music in Creating Mood in Radio Dramas

Sound effects and music are vital in radio dramas, shaping mood and atmosphere. Originally a news medium, radio evolved into entertainment, with dramas relying on narration, music, dialogue, and sound effects. These effects enhance immersion, emotion, and narrative flow. Though their use has declined in some modern settings, sound designers and Foley artists continue to craft dynamic soundscapes. This paper explores their techniques and emphasizes the importance of coherence in sound design for quality productions. Ultimately, it reaffirms the enduring value of sound effects in enriching the storytelling power of radio dramas

Socio-Cultural Dynamics of Contemporary Mural Art in China and Malaysia

This study examines the reconceptualization of contemporary mural art in China and Malaysia since the 1980s. Through analyzing specific artworks and artists, it investigates how shifting socio-cultural dynamics reshape mural art's forms and functions in both countries, the findings reveal distinct patterns of cultural adaptation and artistic innovation, influenced by forces of globalization and local traditions, which demonstrates complex interactions, influenced by forces of globalization and local traditions. The comparative analysis demonstrates how mural art reflects broader cultural politics while contributing to urban development and community engagement, offering insights into public art's evolving role in contemporary Asian societies

VRL: Development and experimental of embodied lecturer avatar using marker-based landmark-guided re-targeting deformation transfer

This study examines the re-targeting accuracy of landmark points on the embodied lecturer avatar mesh surface to determine the efficiency of the avatar's verbal and non-verbal cues deliverable in Virtual Remote Lecture (VRL). Employing embodied lecturer avatars with different anthropomorphic designs and nominal anonymity examines the efficiency of the deliverable social cues exchanged during communication. This study concludes that landmark points on real human faces cannot be matched entirely or mapped accurately on less visually anthropomorphic avatars. The findings reveal that high re-targeting accuracy on avatar improves pedagogical effectiveness, thus providing a promising education method beyond traditional in-person/online lectures.&nbsp

New Media Evolution in China: To the preservation of video installation art.

This article explores how new media art in China has evolved in recent years, examines the transformation trends of video installation art, and discusses the importance of preserving installation artworks and their retention. It aims to understand the complex and challenging issues of storing and reproducing video installation art, especially regarding site constraints and technical maintenance

Developing a Mnemonics-Based Teaching Module for Non-Optional Teachers’ Needs in Basic Musical Notation Recognition

Teaching basic music notation remains challenging for non-optional music teachers lacking formal training. This study investigates teachers’ needs for developing a mnemonics-based teaching module to enhance music notation recognition. A total of 34 non-optional music teachers completed a 28-item questionnaire based on Rossett’s (1987) Training Needs Assessment Model. The instrument achieved a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.893, indicating high reliability. Findings reveal teachers’ strong need for structured mnemonic strategies to improve student learning. The questionnaire provides a foundation for the next research phase, focusing on experimental implementation of the mnemonics-based module to enhance music notation recognition

Impact of New Media Technologies on Narrative and Audience Perception in Contemporary Drama

This research investigates the impacts of contemporary drama and its narrative and audience breakdown with the advent of motion capture, virtual reality and interactive story technologies. With an emphasis on qualitative and quantitative analysis, the case studies and mixed methodology approaches to these technologies pointed out how they create both new possibilities and obstacles to traditional theatre performance. While these technologies amplify audience engagement, they must be integrated with caution due to their intricate technical, financial, and ethical implications. If achieved, the incorporation allows for participation and storytelling to be transformed within the digital era's narrative scope

Design and Application of BOPPPS Teaching Module based CBVE for Higher Vocational Curriculum for Infant and Childcare in China

Background: The first 1000 days are vital for brain development. China needs high-quality childcare talent cultivation. Significance: Theoretically enriches CBVE-BOPPPS integration and practically expands curriculum reform. Aim: Design and implement ICCC within the CBVE framework. Objectives: Develop design, compare scores, and explore teachers' strategies. Methods: Use DDR based on ADDIE, with 32 in CBVE-BOPPPS and 30 in TTM groups. Findings: CBVE-BOPPPS outperformed; teachers faced challenges and used multiple methods. Implications: Validates effectiveness and offers new views. Limitations: Small sample, limited time, needs long-term tracking

Prevalence of Erectile Dysfunction and Quality of Life among Male with Diabetes Mellitus: A systematic review

This systematic review examines the prevalence of Erectile Dysfunction (ED) and its impact on Quality of Life (QoL) among males with diabetes. Following PRISMA guidelines, literature from 2018 to 2024 was analyzed, with 11 relevant studies selected from 172 screened articles. The quality of each study was appraised using the Joanna Briggs Institute checklist, yielding a combined sample size of 3,928 diabetes males. Findings show an ED prevalence range of 28.1% to 94.7%, with ED contributing to lower self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and psychological distress, significantly impacting QoL. The study highlights the need for targeted interventions to improve the QoL of diabetes males in Malaysia

Maintenance Strategy for the Old Lathe Machine in Teaching Workshops at Technical Vocational Education Training Institutes

The TVET workshop equipments for machining should be in a state of high readiness. However, due to inadequate machine care and maintenance procedures, the performance and readiness of this training equipment fall short of industry standards. This study aims to develop a framework strategy for Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) for TVET institutions. The critical success factors of maintenance strategy were identified using the Delphi and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) methodologies. Subsequently, Interpretive Structural Modelling (ISM) was utilised to develop a new maintenance framework strategy.  The use of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to evaluate maintenance strategy performance indicates a significant improvement

Development of Early Braille Reading Skills Teaching Module for Preschoolers: Fuzzy Delphi Method

The Fuzzy Delphi Method creates an early braille reading skills module for vision-impaired preschoolers. The project seeks a consensus-based, holistic solution to declining rates and technological integration in early braille literacy. Based on the Model Bottom-Up, 11 experts assessed six constructs. For analysis, FUDELO 1.0 and a 7-point Fuzzy scale were employed. Constructs provide 86% expert support for all proposed features. The study supports Sustainable Development Goal 4's inclusive education goals with evidence-based special education. Future research should focus on module adaptability, longitudinal effect studies, and practical implementation in different educational contexts and learner needs
