The deficiency of Iranian contemporary housing architecture has made this method of Architecture unable to meet the needs of Iranian families in recent years. Architecture is part of the identity of a society and has concepts and features derived from the community of its time. Therefore, in order to provide a correct solution for the modification of the Iranian contemporary housing architecture and to create its identity, it is necessary to recognize and analyze the signs existing in Iranian architecture throughout history. In this study, the architecture of the traditional Qajar era houses and contemporary residential complexes in Shiraz, with a semiotic approach, were analyzed in two layers of architecture and meta-architecture. The results of semiotics mechanism, questionnaires and interviews showed that the lack of attention to different layers of the signifieds and conformity of the signifier and the signified is the missing link of identity in the contemporary architecture of residential complexes. Also, it seems that the application of Qajar architectural signs to contemporary housing architecture can create identity in modern housing

Place as an Output of Codes: Importance of Being Place-character Base of Form-based Codes

    Get PDF
The primary question is the product of form-based codes different in terms place-character? A secondary question that follows is if this lack of differentiation based on place-character is a result of the code itself or of issues peripheral to the code. Each places represents a customized interaction between a 'code' (conceptual framework) and a 'place' (contextual framework) which could be described as a 'narrative'. Individually dissecting these narratives along specific cross-sections, such as location, chronology, typology, scale, and fit, could reveal patterns of similarities and differences. Research shows that each of these cross-sections impact specific aspects of place-character and place-making. Qualitative correlations across codes and cross-sections, could explain certain patterns observed in the codes along specific cross-sections. It is concluded that the process of place-making could be lost in the melee. While form-based codes appear to be extremely flexible, this complex condition could prove burdensome for any code or regulation without compromising its place-making potential. Factors in shaping the output of form-based codes are place, process and the policy framework. In establishing responsiveness to context, the negotiation is between traditions and aspirations, which could be divergent concepts. Yet there is almost always a paradigm that successfully mediates this condition. Form-based codes present a simple response to a complex set of urban issues, it is important to maintain place-specific context around the application of this approach. Another consideration in this mediation could be eliminating zoning but it is never possible to replace a system of rules with the absence of rules

It is actually an art that highlights the story and executes it according to its own taste with sounds, whistling and self-made sound effects. This school has been established in tea houses, which is a meeting place for the poor and middle class, and has gradually become popular. It is not very clear when the first tea houses were established in Iran, but they certainly existed during the reign of Shah Abbas Safavid. In the field of tea house painting, the beliefs and boundaries of iconography as well as religion and traditions are the main forms of the image. On the other hand, the illustrated story, is analyzed separately with the topics of this world in terms of lack of spiritual thinking and only by way of the functions of two areas in recognizing visual relationship for the audience and the society.  This dissertation was performed via a comparative study method and by collecting information in library forms. Get PDF
Museum display cases are usually one of the most expensive parts in museum interior design and furniture; museum display cases are very special and have a lot of limitations in the selection of used materials. Usually, even the micrometer environment in museum shelves and display cases should be valuable in the primary control of a collection (1). The protected manuscripts in museums are particularly vulnerable in terms of vulnerability and difficulty in maintaining. The mechanisms of damage and preventive protection of these works and their changes over time depend entirely on environmental conditions (2). Display cases, as a means of protection, protect the works by increasing the security of the objects and confining them in an appropriate, stable and secure environment (3 and 4).  In general, four main groups of factors cause damage to the manuscripts: 1- Physical factors 2- Chemical factors 3- Biological factors 4- Unexpected factors (5), each of which imposes specific requirements in the design and manufacture of display cases for protection. Due to the specific circumstances of these works, these requirements need to be collected and formulated in a purposeful way for the design of the display cases. This article has attempted to clarify what features each display case must have in order to be stable and to protect a manuscript by reviewing specialized texts, authoritative articles, and library resources. Finally, an example of an appropriate design based on the stated conditions is examined

The article describes the new tendencies of the interpretations of W. A. Mozart’s music. It describes the development of the genre during XVIII century in general and during Mozart’s life in particular, and explains the appearance of different performing traditions, relations, and compromises between historically-oriented and “academic” ways of performing. The interpretation of classical or romantic works turns often to the decoding the author’s intention, since there are usually no evidences of the “correct” version – no audio recordings, and the most detailed treatise still describes something which is impossible to describe. If the problem of ornamentation is at least presented in written in the literature and tables, the point of tempo or timing stays very subjective. Thus the interpretation of the music of Mozart is a difficult problem for the performer and for the musicologist. The article consists of examples and descriptions of various ways of performance and comparison between “authentic” and “modern” interpretations. Special attention turns timing and articulation as specific ways of historically-oriented style of playing. &nbsp
