A Study of the Uses of Articles in the Wycliffite Bible
Get PDFP(論文)In the Wycliffite Bible (written late in the 14th century), the uses of articles are not yetwell-established. There is a wide difference in use between the definite articles in the earlierand the latter text. For example, in the earlier text the erthe and the Egipciens have amarked tendency to be used as a subject and with prepositions, but in the latter text ertheand Egipcians are often found with prepositions. This tendency may be a distinctive featureof the latter text. The latter text, however, has no established form of the definite article + singular orplural. Erthe and Egipcians can be interchangeably relaced with the erthe and the Egipcians,and the zero article + singular man is sometimes used as a man or the man, tabernacle asa tabernacle, the indefinite article + singular a culuer as the culuer, an aungel as theaungel, or a cytee as the cytee, and the definite article + plural sterris as the sterris.departmental bulletin pape
Freshmen's Self-Images Manifested by Semantic-Differential Method
Get PDFP(論文)A survey study was conducted to explore the characteristics of students' self-imagesmanifested by SD-method. A questionnaire cosisted of 4 sets of 16 SD scales was administered to 95 freshmen in"Personality" course. In each set, 4 pairs of 7-point SD scales for "activity", 4 pairs for"potency", and 8 pairs for "evaluation" were randomly arranged under the blanket for astimulus word. Four stimulus words employed in this study were "college studnt", "freshmanof Kinki Welfare University", "I", and "idea self" respectively in this order. While there were very little differences among the means for those stimulus words except"I" in "activity", a consistent orderliness was found in both "potency" and "evaluation"dimensions and in those 4 sub-divisions of the latter, i. e. emotional, sensory, moral, andsocial evaluations. The means of "ideal self" were the highest in all of the above, followedby those of "college student" next, and those means of "I" and "student if KWU" weremuch lower, locating at either around or slightly below the neutral points of the scales. From these results, it was suggested that, although the present subjects had strongmotives toward their own self-realization, it might be necessary to take more realisticapproaches for their goals as well as that a positive university-wide guidance program wouldassist them to develop much sounder social attitudes and matured personalities.departmental bulletin pape
Environmental Education in Liberal Arts Classes at University Level : - Training Courses for Early Childhood Educators in Junior Colleges -
Get PDFP(論文)Abstract : Inoue (2005) proposed the following aspects with regard to environmental educationin liberal arts classes at university level : (1) an in-depth knowledge of specific environmentalissues is more effective in achieving the educational goals than superficial knowledge onbroad issues ; (2) practical devices are necessary to make students aware of the fact thatenvironmental issues concern all persons, including them, and (3) the goals of environmentaleducation and the methods employed to achieve them are important regardless of the subjecttitle. The abovementioned proposals should also be applied to the liberal arts subjects includedin training courses for early childhood educators in junior colleges, because libral artssubjects offer students the singular opportunity to study the environment as part of theircourse. The analysis of syllabi gathered from 149 junior colleges offering training courses forearly childhood educators revealed that the syllabi of only a few subjects corresponded to thepoints mentioned above. Environmental education for students enrolled in training courses for early childhood educators is important because, in the future, they will need to impartenvironmental education to the young children that they teach. Therefore, teachers of liberalarts subjects should improve the content and methods of their courses from the viewpoint ofenvironmental education.departmental bulletin pape
Relationship between the Dietary Fiber - and Strontium - Intake and the Excretion of Feces in Rats
Get PDFP(論文)The rats were fed on the each feed contained 0, 1%, 3%, 5%, 10% dietary fiber and 10 ～300mg strontium. These researches were studied that the taking of dietary fiber wereaffected the gastrointestinal transit time, the percentage of water content in feces, thequantity of short chain fatty acids in serum. The increasing weights of air dried feces wereaccompanied with increasing dietary fiber in diet. Practices of Environmental Education in Liberal Arts Courses at University Level
Get PDFP(論文)Abstract : Environmental education at university level is important because the developmental features ofuniversity students are suitable for critical learning and for creating an awareness of their roles in resolvingenvironmental issues. Therefore, in Japan, environmental education has been included in the curricula ofmany universities since the late 20th century. However, most of these universities include environmentaleducation among the elective subjects of liberal arts, and for most students with the exception of those whomajor in environmental studies these subjects may be their only opportunity to learn about theenvironment. Educators who plan to include environmental education in their liberal arts classes shouldimplement strategies that maximize the effects of learning under limited conditions. I have practicedenvironmental education in my biology classes that were taught as a part of the liberal arts course. Further,I have evaluated the changes in students over a period of three years. Based on the results, the followingthree proposals are presented : (1) an in-depth knowledge of specific environmental issues is moreeffective in achieving the educational goals than superficial knowledge on broad issues ; (2) practicaldevices are necessary to make students aware of the fact that environmental issues concern all persons,including them, and (3) the goals of environmental education and the methods employed to achieve themare important regardless of the subject title.departmental bulletin pape
The Future of the Work Support System for People with Disabilities in Shiga Prefecture : - A Topic of the Work-oriented Type of Cooperative Workshops -
Get PDFP(論文)Cooperative workshops have been increased because of the lack of improvement in the employmentsituation for people with disabilities. Due to welfare and labor related laws not being applicable to theseworkshops, they therefore offered various services to every kind of disabled ; however, as far as workingconditions were involved, the extremely low wages was a problem. Shiga Prefecture has played an important role by introducing a new system in work-oriented types ofworkshops, demanding not less than 1/2 the people with disabilities to be contracually employed,and triedto promote normal employment and standard wages within these workshops. Not less than 1/2 the workersreceived benefis, but in reality, the wage situation had not improved enough. In order to handle this matter, a newly established committee proposed the forming of "socialenterprises", which demanded employers to offer contractual agreements for all those disabled who areworking in these enterprises, and proposed a new subisidy system to maintain their employment feasible. These proposals may have an experimental element to them, but at the same time, have the possibilitiesto change the current situation of workshops as a whole.departmental bulletin pape
The Future Vision of Rehabilitation Workshops for Injured Workers
Get PDFP(論文)Rehabilitation workshops have offered comprehensive vocational and social rehabilitationservices for injured workers to promote their vocational independence. Theseworkshops were supposed to have had a role as transitional institutions aiming atreturning injured workers to their former work places (or getting new work places),however, they did not function as such, and a review was carried out by five expertson rehabilitation and welfare. As a result, the following propsals:(1) Workshops, whose functions as transitional institutions are difficult to recover,should be divided into two:a) Those to be abolished, while examining its practical use as social resources in eacharea, such as in industries which employ many severely disabled persond, rehabilitationinstitutions, accommodation facilities, etc. in each areas.andb) Those to be allowed to continue for the time being, while re-enforcing connectionswith related resources and introduce useful functions of the Supported EmploymentSystem (such as job coaching, continuous support in work places, etc.) to promote thetransition to normal employment for as many as possible.(2) To strengthen measures for injured workers, a new integrated system consisting ofmedical, employment, ability development, welfare and so on, should be studied byMinistry of Health, Labour and Welfare as soon as possible.departmental bulletin pape
