No full textIn this work, sheets of scrolls have been folded into pleats and place atop glowing lights. The scroll faces contain layers of script including roman type, Chinese characters, and various symbols displayed in a palimpsest. Surrounding the scrolls are the mass of cables that connect the lights to a source of power. The blue hue of the lights and the horizontal organization of the scrolls evoke a likeness to computer chips when looked at from above. No full textLiposome-encapsulated hemoglobin (LEH) has been investigated to potentially mitigate the adverse effects associated with hemoglobin-based oxygen carriers (HBOCs) used as red blood cell substitutes. Usually, liposomes are synthesized in the laboratory from combinations of synthetic lipids. In this project, we aimed to extract native lipids from red blood cell membrane fragments and utilize these lipids to synthesize liposomes through a process called membrane extrusion

No full textOhio’s recent “bathroom bill,” SB-104, is unique in mandating bathroom usage in all schools and colleges while placing the burden of compliance on institutions. This study explores how LGBTQ college students in Ohio understand and respond to SB-104 and how colleges, positioned as intermediaries between students and the law, shape those responses. To investigate this, I am distributing an online survey to LGBTQ students at a group of five private liberal arts colleges in Ohio. I aim to analyze the responses of approximately 10 respondents from each institution through a legal and relational consciousness theoretical foundation to identify preliminary patterns across colleges, demographics, and general thinking. After completion, I plan to share my findings with student affinity groups at Ohio colleges. Through this project, I aim to support and reshape conversations about the relationships between institutional authorities and their socially marginalized students in a time of uncertain and shifting legislative landscapes
