Comparative Effectiveness of Resistance Exercise and Medication Therapies in Type 2 Diabetes Management: A Comprehensive Proposal
Ozempic (Semaglutide) is one of the most popular drugs on the market today. Numerous claims have been made about the benefits of this specific drug for weight loss. This same drug has been credited for having positive effects on cardiometabolic health in subjects with diabetes. With so many studies exhibiting a positive correlation between the use of pharmaceuticals and insulin resistance in the diabetes population, this study seeks to investigate how exercise plays a role in this population. This study aims to determine if resistance training is a suitable treatment alternative to diabetic drugs like Ozempic. Eighty subjects between the ages of 25-50 will be separated into two groups. One will engage in 16 weeks of circuit training twice a week, while the second group will take the recommended dose of Ozempic over the 16-week course. HbA1c, HDL and LDL cholesterol, BMI and Blood pressure will be measured to compare the results of two groups. This study will look at the long-term sustainability of these treatment methods and determine their impact on overall health in T2D patients
Outdoor Educational Opportunities and Movement Breaks Effect on Mental, Social, Emotional Health of Adolescents
This paper examined research intent on the purpose of studying how educational leaders may support the mental, social, and emotional health of adolescents through incorporating outdoor educational opportunities and movement breaks in the classroom. The qualitative, quantitative, and mixed method approaches used, delve into the ways of incorporating movement in the classroom through brain breaks, utilizing outdoor education opportunities, and the effects technology can have. These concepts and tools can work together to support the mental, social, and emotional health of adolescents as well as to promote greater academic growth. However, they must be utilized appropriately for intended success. The studies analyze the needed incorporation of movement breaks, as a way to give the brain time to process the content appropriately, decrease time spent sedentary, and increase focus and on-task behavior. The research also analyzed how the incorporation of outdoor education allows for hands-on experiences, increased social connections, and greater time spent outdoors. As it relates to time spent outdoors, research does caution the use of technology in connection to reducing green time. If overused or used inappropriately, technology can have a negative effect on the mental, social, and emotional health of adolescents. Educators must work together to support students. This includes the proper implementation of movement in the classroom, outdoor education, and appropriate technology usage.

Whole Child Development: Academic Knowledge Influence
In the education systems, the emphasis on academic achievement often overshadows the development of young learners. This pressure was particularly evident in early childhood classrooms, where educators were to prioritize standardized academic outcomes over the broader needs of the whole child (Cade et al., 2022). This research paper explored the tension between academic pressure and development in early childhood education, examining how the intensefocus on academic knowledge could undermine efforts to support the social, emotional, and cognitive growth of students (Friedman et al., 2021). A review of existing literature and an analysis of educational practices showed that the emphasis on academic performance often limited educators\u27 ability to nurture a well-rounded developmental experience. The findings suggested that a rebalancing of priorities, incorporating both academic and developmental goals, was crucial for fostering a more supportive and effective learning environment for young children (Developmental Appropriate Practice, 2022
Building Structures and Beliefs for Effective Multi-Tiered Systems of Support at the Secondary Level
Abstract
Multi-Tiered Systems of Support or MTSS has become a popular service delivery framework for responding to students\u27 academic needs through Response to Intervention (RTI) or behavioral needs through Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). The tiered framework is designed to increase the intensity or frequency of interventions identified through universal screeners, progress monitoring, and teams using data to make decisions about student needs. This study sought to understand how the secondary level structure impacts the implementation of a MTSS framework and how those structures and beliefs impact interventions and supports for students in middle and high school. This study explored fifteen studies that identified the current challenges of implementing MTSS at the secondary level, how educator beliefs impact the MTSS system, the possible structures that would support MTSS implementation, and the need for professional development to implement and sustain a MTSS framework at the secondary level. The findings of this study encourage further research into secondary MTSS systems to improve fidelity of practice and increase positive student outcomes at the secondary level.

How Can Nature-Based Early Childhood Learning Environments Support Whole Child Development?
Learning experiences and environments have a profound influence on young children’s learning and development (National Association for the Education of Young Children, 2022; Zosh et al., 2022). When young children are afforded inadequate opportunities to engage with and explore a nature-based outdoor learning environment, children’s growth, learning, and development can be negatively impacted (Louv, 2008; Suttie, 2016). Current research and literature regarding how nature-based early learning environments support whole child development was analyzed. Research indicated that when children spent more time exploring nature, children had improved learning outcomes (American Academy of Pediatrics, 2022). Outdoor play promoted creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking (American Academy of Pediatrics, 2022). Nature-based early learning programs afforded young children increased opportunities to be active in an outdoor environment throughout the day (Honig, 2015); engage in risky play experiences (Suttie, 2016); experience the benefits that engaging with nature provides the body, mind, and immune system (Suttie, 2016); experience the benefits natural outdoor sunlight provides for immune response (Porto, 2022), sleep (Ridenour, 2024), and healthy development (Louv, 2008; Suttie, 2016) ; and develop an awareness, understanding, and appreciation for the environment and the world (North American Association for Environmental Education, 2019).
