Chick lit genre in contemporary Ukrainian literature for women
Příspěvek Žánr chick lit v současné ukrajinské literatuře pro ženy se zabývá genezí tohoto poněkud nového žánru populární ženské literatury a reflektuje situaci jeho zrodu (od titulu antologie americké ženské povídky – Chick Lit Postfeminist Fiction, kde byl termín poprvé písemně zaznamenán, k žánrovému prototextu – Deníku Bridget Jonesové, 1996), a zaměřující se na výskyt žánrových atributů v současné ukrajinské próze. Klíčová část stati vychází z analýzy vybrané populární ženské fikce ukrajinských autorek nového milénia, a to především z románů (novel) Svitlany Pyrkalo (Zelená Marharyta a Nemysli na červené) a Natalky Sňadanko (Sbírka vášní aneb Dobrodružství mladé Ukrajinky), z hlediska rysů typických pro žánr chick lit a vztahu těchto literárních děl k feminismu a postfeminismu.The present study concentrates its interest on the emergence of a new, modern literary genre of women\u27s prose – the so-called chick lit, since its appearance in the middle nineties in English written popular literature (from the origination of the novel Bridget Jones\u27s Diary in 1996) to the beginning of 2000s in Ukrainian literature written by women-authors, above all in novels of Natalka Sniadanko (The Passion Collection, or The Adventures and Misadventures of a Young Ukrainian Lady) and Svitlana Pyrkalo (Green Margarita and Don\u27t Think About Red), while demonstrating occuring elements of the new genre and pointing out its evident symbiosis with postfeminist trends in contrast to feminism which is being taken as an outdated movement and ideology, no longer necessary in today\u27s society
The Dobruška deanery and its clergy until 1436
The study deals with the parish topography of the Dobruška deanery and its clergy until 1436. The focus is on defining the extent of the deanery, the patronages of churches, papal tithes and the distribution of the patronage right. It also deals with the factors associated with the benefice work of clerics. The study focuses on the following issues: who was chosen for presentations; where the clerics came from; how long they worked at benefices; and why their work ended. It also analyzes the careers and mobility of clerics, and with reference to particular cases explains possible motives for exchanging benefices

Conscience, public space and their limits in the thought of Hannah Arendt
Článok sa venuje téme svedomia v myslení Hannah Arendtovej a otázke, za akých podmienok sa môže svedomie ukázať vo verejnej oblasti. Článok je rozdelený na štyri časti. Prvá načrtáva Arendtovej motiváciu pre prehodnotenie pojmu svedomia, ktorá vyplynula zo snahy vyrovnať sa s povahou politických zločinov 20. storočia a banalitou zla. V druhej časti sú predstavené dve konštitutívne charakteristiky svedomia. Na jednej strane si Ja svedomia osvojuje negatívny odstup od morálnych pravidiel, ktoré zastáva väčšinová spoločnosť. Na druhej strane sa pozitívne opiera o sebazáujem, čiže o bezrozpornosť vo vzťahu k sebe samému. Oba tieto kľúčové rysy svedomia vyrastajú z aktivity myslenia. Tretia časť sa zameriava na konfliktný vzťah individuálneho svedomia k politickej oblasti. V záverečnej časti autor kladie otázku, či je pojem svedomia možné politicky ospravedlniť a predstavuje podmienky pre ochranu svedomia vo verejnej sfére.The article is addressed to the issue of conscience in the thought of Hannah Arendt and to the question under what conditions conscience can become manifest in the public sphere. The article is divided into four parts. The first renders Arendt\u27s motivation to reconsider the concept of conscience, which results from an endeavour to come to terms with the nature of political crimes of the 20th century and the banality of evil. In the second part, two constitutive qualities of conscience are presented. On the one hand, conscientious Self adopts a negative distance from moral rules held by wide society. On the other hand, it positively relies on self-interest, that is, on non-contradiction in relation to oneself. Both of these crucial qualities of conscience arise from the activity of thinking. The third part addresses the conflicting relation of individual conscience to the public sphere. In the final part, the author asks the question whether the concept of conscience can be politically justified and sets the conditions for a defence of freedom of conscience in the public space

Consequences of war-time sexual violence in Bosnia and Herzegovina : discourses about the children born of rape in ethnically divided society
The main subject of the study is media discourse of children born of rape during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1992–1995. Acts of rape are considered to be part of the war tactics of major rivals (Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Army of Republika Srpska, and Croatian Defence Council) and paramilitary units. Forced impregnation and disallowance of abortions was carried out as an accompanying factor of ethnic cleansing. The children born to the raped women are subjected to social stigmatization based on their origin. The idea of inheritance of ethnic identity in patriarchal lineage plays significant role in the construction process of their individual identity. The way in which the children born of war are depicted and perceived affects various aspects of their lives. The main objective of the research was to pursue a public discourse about the children born to the raped women, first through an analysis of the media, which significantly contribute to the image of these children, and second, with the contribution of interviews conducted during the field research in 2018.Hlavním předmětem této studie je mediální diskurz o dětech narozených následkem znásilnění během války v Bosně a Hercegovině v letech 1992–1995. V případě bosenského konfliktu jsou akty znásilnění považovány za součást válečné taktiky hlavních soupeřů (Armády Bosny a Hercegoviny, Vojsk Republiky srbské, Chorvatské rady obrany) a para-militárních jednotek. Nucená oplodnění a znemožnění potratu bylo prováděno jako doprovodný faktor etnických čistek. Děti zrozené ze znásilnění jsou často vystavovány diskriminaci na základě svého původu. Hlavním cílem výzkumu je analyzovat veřejný obraz dětí narozených znásilněným ženám a identifikovat roli myšlenky o dědičnosti etnické identity v jednotlivých společenstvích konstitutivních národů. A to jednak prostřednictvím analýzy médií, která výrazně spoluutvářejí obraz o dětech války, jednak za přispění rozhovorů uskutečněných během terénního výzkumu v r. 2018
Implicitly religious aspects of children\u27s literature by Jaroslav Foglar
The hugely popular author of children\u27s literature Jaroslav Foglar wrote stories about boys on the threshold of adolescence undergoing a personality transformation under the influence of a positive example of friendship and an active lifestyle. However, the themes of honesty, of health and physical activity, and of living in natural surroundings cannot alone justify why this fiction is also viewed from the perspective of the science of religion using terms such as "cult", "mystery", "evangelistic text", "initiation", "functional equivalent of religion", or "implicit religion". Empirical research within the framework of a larger questionnaire survey therefore addresses the question of whether the readers of these books are recruited from backgrounds that are religious, spiritual, or indifferent, whether they are aware of this literature for children having a certain spiritual component, and whether they perceive it as a way of realizing spiritual experience. The group of respondents in the research (n = 1135, of whom 666 were men and 464 women) were most often in the 30-55-year-old age group, with a university degree, living in a larger city with more than 100,000 inhabitants, and with diverse relationships to religious faith and spirituality. According to the results, we found that this literature offered some form of spiritual inspiration to 48% of the respondents, that 30% of the respondents perceived this spiritual component intensely, and that 29% believed that they had applied some of the spiritual values associated with the books in their daily lives. The theoretical interest of religious studies in this literature for boys is thus empirically justified
