    Training for Improving Competence of Senior High School Geography Teachers in Remote Sensing at Sman 16 Padang City

    This article aims to enhance the capabilities of teachers and students in the field of Remote Sensing and to understand the components present in remote sensing products. This activity took place at SMAN 16 Padang using a training and question-and-answer method. Participants included geography teachers and students, with 20 participants representing each class. Despite the lifting of the PPKM policy by the President, it is important to always adhere to the applicable protocols and implement all previously registered regulations. The activities included training related to Remote Sensing and the process of creating remote sensing products for geography teachers and students. Through this training, participants experienced an improvement in understanding or the ability to comprehend various aspects of the remote sensing product creation process. Geography teachers also gained a better understanding of the necessary competencies in designing and utilizing remote sensing products, thus promoting quality and effective learning

    The aim of this research is to analyze the implementation of life skills education in the Negeri 1 Panjang Buya high school. This type of research is descriptive research using a qualitative approach. The research informants consisted of school principals and teachers. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction, data display, data interpretation and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that the implementation of strengthening life skills education at the Jangka Buya 1 State High School is classified as good. The implementation of strengthening life skills-based education carried out at the Jangka Buya 1 State High School includes aspects of personal skills, academic skills, social skills and vocational skills. &nbsp

    Spatial Analysis of Pacu Jawi Cultural Tourism in Tanah Datar District

    ABSTRACT: The traditions of a community are often seen as a tourist attraction and used as a regional mainstay. One of the cultural expressions of the agricultural traditions of the Tanah Datar Regency community is Pacu Jawi. This research aims to analyze the spatial aspects of Pacu Jawi cultural tourism in terms of the human geography approach. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with the characteristics of in-depth interviews, holistic perspectives and comprehensive descriptions. Secondary data review was conducted for map analysis of other spatial attributes. The research locus is in four sub-districts, namely Pariangan, Lima Kaum, Sungai Tarab and Rambatan, all of which are within the administrative area of Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra Province. The research findings show that the Pacu Jawi tradition as a tourist attraction can maintain social cohesion and cultural sustainability of local communities. The location of Pacu Jawi in Tanah Datar Regency is known as Luhak Nan Tuo (home village) of the Minangkabau people, which shows the primacy of its cultural practices. Road access to the Pacu Jawi location is quite affordable with a choice of various routes with different distances and travel times. Public facilities such as accommodation and health services are available in the Regency Town. Socio-economically, Tanah Datar people mostly work as farmers and the dominant land use for rice fields shows that the Pacu Jawi tradition is still contextual and functional for the community. &nbsp

    The Influence of Educational Level, Type of Job, and Community Income on Community Participation in Waste Management in West Payakumbuh District

    Effective urban waste management is crucial, encompassing various dimensions such as financial, technical, legal, environmental, spatial planning, socio-cultural aspects, and stakeholder involvement. The household waste management landfill in Regional Payakumbuh is currently overcapacity, and the city lacks an independent waste landfill. This quantitative research utilizes Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) version 3.0 to analyze data, a method within Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The study population consists of 120 households in the Talang Payakumbuh Barat neighborhood, selected using proportional random sampling. Results indicate that the education level of the West Payakumbuh community positively influences waste management. This is supported by a P value of 0.044 (< 0.05), with a t-statistic of 1.786 (lower than 1.96). The original sample value of 0.188 is positive, leading to the acceptance of hypothesis H1. Similarly, the type of occupation significantly and positively influences community participation in waste management in Payakumbuh, supported by a P value of 0.022 (< 0.05) and a t-statistic of 4.351 (> 1.96). The original sample value of 0.463 is positive, confirming the acceptance of hypothesis H2. Additionally, community income has a positive and significant impact on their participation in waste management in Payakumbuh, as evidenced by a P value of 0.031 (< 0.05), a t-statistic of 2.292 (> 1.96), and an original sample value of 0.031. Hence, hypothesis H3 is accepted. Community participation in waste management in Payakumbuh is also influenced by social and cultural factors. The diversity in educational backgrounds and occupations presents unique challenges, contributing to the creation of a clean and comfortable city environment. This research emphasizes the need for integrated waste management strategies and community involvement to address the waste disposal challenges faced by Payakumbuh

    The Influence of Use of Comic Media and Learning Motivation on Learning Outcomes in The Subject of Integrated Social Sciences Class Vii Primary School State 25 Takengon City

    This research aims to describe; a) the influence of using comic media on learning outcomes in integrated Social Sciences subjects, b) the influence of learning motivation on learning outcomes in Integrated Social Sciences subjects, c) the influence of using comic media and learning motivation on student learning outcomes in Science subjects Integrated Social Knowledge. This type of research is experimental research using a quantitative approach. The subjects of this research were 22 students of Class VII of Takengon 25 State Junior High School. This research design uses One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data collection techniques use observation, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques include the t-test and anova test. The research results show that: a) there is a significant influence of the use of comic media on student learning outcomes, where the value of Sig. for the (partial) influence of there is a significant influence of learning motivation on student learning outcomes, where the Sig. for the (partial) influence of c) there is a significant influence of the use of comic media and learning motivation on student learning outcomes, where the value of Sig. for the (simultaneous) influence of X1 and X2) simultaneously on Learning Outcomes (Y)

    Assisted Interactive Learning Media Innovation Application Microsoft Sway

    This research aims to obtain validation of the development of interactive learning media assisted by applications Microsoft Sway to improve students' critical thinking skills. The type of research is Research and Development (R&D), using the Plomp model (2013). This research involves expert validators are material experts, language experts, media experts, and IT experts. The development stages include preliminary research(preliminary research), level prototype/product development stage (prototyping phase), evaluation level (assessment phase), and systematic reflection and documentation. The data collection method uses sheets self-evaluation, validation sheet prototype, observation sheets, interviews, and sheets Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The collected data was analyzed using SPSS. The validity and usability of product designs are measured through formative evaluation, including self-evaluation. Summative evaluation is carried out at the assessment stage to determine product validity. The research product consists of interactive learning media assisted by applications Microsoft Sway and product use manuals. The research results show that the media Microsoft Sway The results generated are declared valid, where for the media value the Correlation Coefficient (ICC). The results obtained were very high = 0.968 from the average inter-agreement results rater, while for one rater the consistency is 0.400. For the guidebook, the value ICC obtained is also very high = 0.958 from the analysis of the average agreement between raters, while for one rater the consistency is 0.360. Overall it can be said to be an interactive learning media assisted by applications Microsoft Sway and a valid and usable Guidebook

    Increased Landslide Disaster Preparedness of Dukuh Kerajan Community, Tulungagung Regency Through Poster Media

    Landslide disasters in Indonesia are increasing, one of which is in Tulungagung Regency, East Java Province, including areas that are quite vulnerable to landslides. It was recorded that 55 landslides hit Tulungagung Regency and caused considerable losses. From the results of the review, it becomes a parameter for researchers to offer pre-disaster mitigation programs in the form of providing posters containing disaster mitigation materials to communities in landslide-prone areas. The choice of poster media is because the information conveyed is easier to reach and understand by the public. In this study, researchers used a measurement tool in the form of a questionnaire that was distributed to 76 respondents so that initial understanding through Pretest and improvement after giving poster media through Posttest. The results of data analysis in which, the value of knowledge of the people who were respondents in this study was considered better and, in the Wilcoxon, test obtained a result of <0.05 showed that poster media is effective as a medium in supporting disaster preparedness in Tulungagung Regenc

    Socio-Economic Conditions of Coffee Farmers in Blang Gele Village, Central Aceh District

    The aim of this research is to describe the socio-economic conditions of coffee farmers in Blang Gele village, Bebesan District, Central Aceh Regency. The type of research is qualitative research. The research informants were coffee farming communities in Blang Gele village. The technique for taking informants uses snowball sampling technique. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the socio-economic conditions of coffee farmers are relatively good when viewed from the perspective of education, income, health and housing. This research produced a specific finding, namely the mangolo culture, which is a tradition carried out from generation to generation by coffee farming communities in cultivating coffee plants. Mangolo is a social tradition that involves village communities gathering to do coffee picking or other work together and taking turns. Mangolo culture is a transaction system by exchanging services in coffee farming. Mangolo culture has meaning and value for the farming community in increasing the sense of solidarity and care between fellow coffee farmers. &nbsp

    Development of Pop-Up Book Edutaiment Learning Media in Social Sciences Subjects

    This research aims to describe the practicality of Pop-Up-Book edutainment learning media in Social Sciences Subjects. The type of research is Research & Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model. The development subjects in this research were class VII students of state junior high school 1 Matangkuli, North Aceh Regency. Data collection techniques use observation sheets, questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique uses percentage analysis. The research results show that the practicality of Pop-Up-Book edutainment learning media is very practical. This can be seen based on the results of observations of learning activities, student learning activities, and the results of the Skills Process Assessment using the Edutaiment Pop-Up Book learning media

    Analysis of School Disaster Preparedness in Mount Merapi Eruption-Prone Areas: A Case Study in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta

    Indonesia, situated within the Pacific Ring of Fire, exhibits a unique combination of dynamic tectonic plates and active volcanoes, rendering it susceptible to various seismic activities, ranging from minor tremors to large-scale earthquakes (megathrust). Volcanic eruptions, a prevalent natural disaster in Indonesia, pose significant threats due to the presence of over 130 active volcanoes, with 129 concentrated on Java Island alone. Among these, Mount Merapi stands out as the most active and perilous, situated 30 kilometers north of Yogyakarta City, spanning the administrative boundaries of Yogyakarta Special Region and Central Java. Educational institutions, particularly schools, serve as vital hubs equipped with resources and infrastructure that demand meticulous preparation for potential disasters. This research endeavors to assess the level of school preparedness in the face of disasters, with a specific focus on volcanic eruptions. Through data processing and analysis, it is discerned that Y Primary School in Girikerto village exhibits the highest average preparedness score across five criteria: disaster management plan, community action plan, rehabilitation efforts, early warning system, and competency (89.66%). This is followed by X Primary School (82.39%) and Z Primary School (22.61%). In a broader context, the study reveals that 17.4% of respondents exhibit low preparedness, 4.35% fall within the medium preparedness category, while 34.8% and 43.5% demonstrate high and very high preparedness respectively
