Moral emotions and morality: their significance for moral education.
Get PDFDistinctive dimensions such as controllability of action,positivity/negativity of action,self/other agency,and interpersonal/personal action are applied for the analysis of several moral emotions as an extention of causal-attributional theory of emotion. Combinations of four dimensions produce sixteen expected cells of possible emotional situations. Among them sympathy is a fundamental component of such moral emotions as sharing of happiness and unhappiness of another person,enjoying of another person’s joy,kindness and helping.
