Get PDFIndonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world. In 2015, the population growth rate in West Nusa Tenggara is equal with national population growth rate, which is about 1.39%. The long-term contraceptive methods is one of the most effective family planning programs to succeed in controlling the population growth rate. The participation rate for the use of this contraceptive methods by fertile age couples in Bunut Baok village, Middle Lombok, is only about 10%. This was dissemination of information event aimed to disseminate the information regarding long-term contraceptive methods to Bunut Baok villagers, Middle of Lombok. This social event is part of the thematic Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) programs of students of Universitas Mataram in the period of 2020 in Bunut Baok villagers attended by 59 Bunut Baok villagers as participants. In this event, pre-test and post-test were also conducted to evaluate the increase of their knowledge about long-term contraceptive methods. The participants had mean age of 36 years old, mostly female and had senior high school educational level. The mean of posttest scores was higher than the mean of pretest scores (88.54vs77.03; p = 0.000). These results indicated that this dissemination of information event increase the level of knowledge of Bunut Baok villagers related to the long-term contraceptive methods

In addition, this training was conducted to provide knowledge to orphanage administrators about the importance of making financial reports, so that funds from donors can be managed properly. In the end, this activity is expected to produce human resources capable of making bookkeeping and financial management. This training activity will be aimed at administrators of the DarusShiddiqien NW Mertak Paok Islamic Boarding School in Central Lombok Regency. The implementation of the activity is carried out with the approach of presenting material relevant to the needs of the orphanage administrators according to PSAK 45. Get PDFCritical thinking is a skill which teachers and students need to have in order to be able to solve their problems appropriately. The teachers should incorporate critical thinking in the teaching and learning activities and one of them is through questioning in the form comprehension questions. This social service program was intended to provide teachers with room for improving their capability in generating comprehension questions which are critical-thinking based. This program was held in SMA Islam Al-Badriyah East Lombok and it was attended by 18 English teachers of Private Senior High Schools located in East Lombok district. The activities within this program included presentation, discussion, working in group, presenting group work task and evaluation. From this social service program, it was found that the English teachers participated in all activities enthusiastically, especially, in the discussion and in generating comprehension questions. The questions generated by the participants were not only in the level of lower-order thinking but also in the level of higher-order thinking. Further, the questionnaire result showed that in general the participants appreciated this program and hoped the similar program to come in the future to improve their competency or professionalism in English language teaching

Get PDFWaste management in some areas is still a problem for the environment. One method to manage the waste is by using it as a medium for maggot cultivation BSF (Black Soldier Flies) flies. Therefore, a KKN team, from Mataram pioneered the BSF fly maggot cultivation business in Pendem Village, Janapria District, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The purpose of this program is to empower Pendem Village residents to process organic waste through cultivation of BSF maggot flies into animal feed. The method was by conducting counseling or socialization with village staff in front of local community leaders and directly making BSF cage. The results shown a positive response from residents. Besides that, the team produced the animal feed from this cultivation. and also, the organic fertilizer in the form of packaging ready for market.

Get PDFClimate change causes changes in rainfall patterns that is high intensity rain in a short duration. This situation could threaten the agricultural sector which impacts on national food security and food fulfillment for each household. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce an effective strategy to meet household food needs through the P2KP movement in dealing with the threat of climate change. This community service aims to: (1) providing an understanding of climate change and its impact on the food agriculture sector to the community; (2) socializing the "P2KP movement" accompanied by a demonstration plot of the use of house yards for cultivation of vegetables in pots. These community service activities implement a participatory pattern, in which the target community was involved in every decision making both in preparing, implementing, and evaluating the program activities. The results of the community service activities shows that the target community's knowledge of climate change and its impact on the agricultural sector has been successfully improved. The P2KP movement has been socialized and received a positive response from the target community, then they a;ready known to optimizing the use of home yards for cultivation of plants in pots becomes an alternative agricultural system that is resilient in the face of climate change

The usage of drugs can be obtained if it is used correctly. Basic knowledge about drugs is very important to know so that the benefits of drugs can be obtained. The Indonesian Pharmacists Association (IAI) has made a simple method to facilitate drug use, by carrying out the national program "DAGUSIBU" which is to Get, Use, Save, Disposed of medicines correctly. Some knowledge about drugs such as preparations (form), dosage, side effects, drug hazards must be known as early as possible. This FARMACIL coaching and cadre program will provide guidance to Primary School Students about basic knowledge of medicine. Coaching is carried out with interesting class mentoring. The basic knowledge curriculum for medicine will be delivered in 8 events for 2 months. After the basic material is delivered, then it is evaluated and then carried out cadre. Get PDFThe objectives of the community service are: maintaining the alumni commitment as agricultural young entrepreneurs; increase the capacity and ability of alumni in the management of business in agriculture; increasing the business scale by adding the ability to finance agribusiness businesses; and developing business networks (net-working) and financing and marketing cooperation. The output expected as an output of this service activity is an article published in national or international journals. To achieve the purpose of this service, it is carried out with a coaching and mentoring approach. Coaching is done by the focus group discussion (FGD) method, training with the agribusiness field school method, and mentoring in the problem solving method. From a series of implementation activities can be summarized as follows: the commitment of alumni as young agricultural entrepreneurs is still able to be held which is shown by the still strong spirit and entrepreneurial spirit; (the alumni who are members of the PWMP Group have the ability to increase the capacity of business management in agriculture, including 3 (three) of the 7 (seven) PWMP groups that have opened business branches and appointed employees to assist production activities and services to customers; in general there has been an increase in the ability of financing sourced from an average allowance for operating results of 18.3% from November 2017 to July 2018 or 2.29% / month; and the development of business networks and marketing is still an obstacle for most young agricultural entrepreneurs, except the PWMP Bintang Tani Group which has a business network and regular customers in the marketing aspect
