Individual characteristics as motivators of sustainable behavior in electronic vehicle rental
This study investigates the understudied area of motivational factors influencing the rental intention of electric vehicles (EVs) within the context of their integration into urban transportation to combat air pollution and reduce carbon footprints and explores the critical factors influencing consumer behavior towards EV rental, focusing on hedonic motivation, service level, consumer habits, and willingness to pay. Utilizing multiple linear regression analysis on 302 valid samples from Texas, USA, the research identifies the significant impact of these factors on rental intention. Notably, the service level emerges as the most influential predictor while emphasizing the unique and less studied role of hedonic and personal characteristics as essential antecedents of rental intention. The findings, supplemented by a Monte Carlo simulation, reveal that these personal and motivational characteristics are pivotal in shaping rental intentions, accounting for approximately 47.2% of the variance in rental intention. The study contributes valuable insights into the EV rental market, offering theoretical implications for the EV literature and practical strategies for car rental enterprises to tap into consumer patterns effectively
Enhancing gross anatomy courses in occupational therapy with 3D applications: An assessment of effectiveness
Traditional teaching methods, such as two-dimensional PowerPoint presentations, are prevalent in anatomy education but must provide an in-depth perception of anatomical structures. This article discusses integrating 3D anatomy application in an Occupational Therapy course as an advanced technique for anatomical learning. The "Complete 3D Anatomy" app was employed to facilitate the teaching of anatomy structures. Students from 2 different cohorts, 93 from 2022 and 96 from 2023 test scores, were considered in this endeavor. The 2022 group used the 3-D app on their own time, compared to the 2023 group, who were required to use it in class for every lecture by the instructor. Results showed improvement in their test score from 71% (2022) to 87% (2023), with the integration of the 3-D as a class activity. Based on these results, it is concluded that the 3D anatomy app is an essential tool for comprehensive anatomical learning. For future courses, there is a plan to integrate further and assess the benefits of requiring students to employ a tablet or iPad equipped with 3D apps, along with a virtual dissection table to complement teaching and learning enterprises in the human cadaver laboratory
TMT human capital and industry dynamism in the adoption of digital transformation
This paper studies the adoption of digital transformation in the S&P 500 from the period 2008-2017. We analyze company annual reports to understand how the depth and breadth of top-management team (TMT) experience lead companies to adopt digital transformation. We find that companies are more likely to adopt digital transformation if they have TMTs with heterogeneous experience. They are less likely if they have too short or too long tenured TMT’s. These relationships are moderated by industry dynamism such that that TMT experience and tenure are particularly important in highly dynamic environments. This study deepens our understanding of digital transformation as an emerging phenomenon and contributes to the theory of strategic change by elucidating how the interplay between managerial and environmental forces impedes or facilitates this emerging phenomenon. We review the implications for theory and practice
Reflections of receiving music therapy in Thailand: A phenomenological case study of an adult with chronic mental illness
This study aimed to explore the lived experiences of a Thai adult living with chronic mental illness who receives music therapy from a music therapist in Thailand. Purposive sampling and an online semi-structured interview were conducted for this study. The participant (Nam) is a Thai female adult who was diagnosed with depression. Music therapy was very helpful for Nam in many areas, such as being an emotional outlet and a channel for self-reflection. Music was like a friend to Nam that embraced her in every situation and made her relationship with the therapist grow stronger. On the other hand, the music therapist was an influential person who supported her from the very beginning until Nam found her self-worth and could be independent again

The development and validation of an instrument measuring psychological need satisfaction of lactation
Basic psychological need satisfaction is a widely studied phenomenon within the field of psychology that was not examined in the context of lactation prior to this research. Derived from Self-Determination Theory, the basic psychological needs of autonomy, competence, and relatedness are theorized to result in well-being and functioning when the needs are met. In the United States, breastfeeding rates are below Healthy People 2030 targets. Therefore, a goal of
this research was to test the premise that satisfying the needs of autonomy, competence, and relatedness could improve postpartum well-being and breastfeeding outcomes. To accomplish this, it is necessary to be able to objectively measure the phenomenon of psychological need satisfaction in the context of lactation. Given that no such measure exists in the literature, the
purpose of this study was to develop and validate the Lactation Psychological Needs Scale. The instrument was designed based on a review of literature, content validity testing, and pilot testing in the intended population. The validity of the instrument was established through exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses in separate samples. Both factor analyses yielded a three-factor
solution aligned with the three basic psychological needs enumerated in Self-Determination Theory: autonomy, competence, and relatedness. After modification, the confirmatory analysis supported goodness-of-fit of the final 12-item instrument. The instrument and each subscale demonstrated appropriate internal consistency reliability and were related to concurrently measured variables in the expected directions, supporting the construct validity of the instrument. The Lactation Psychological Needs Scale appears preliminarily valid and reliable and supports the theoretical premises tested. Self-Determination Theory offers a new explanation for understanding lactation outcomes and postpartum well-being, which can be further explored through subsequent uses of this novel instrument
Investigation of the role of the parent in the initial evaluation for special education services: Increasing collaboration within K-12 school districts to create a positive working relationship
The purpose of this study is to investigate how K-12 school districts can create and increase a positive working relationship with parents and guardians who have students that are actively going through the Initial Evaluation process to determine if their student meets eligibility criteria to receive Special Education Services. A phenomenological study was conducted to address two research questions: (RQ 1) What is the parent experience from the start of the Initial Evaluation to the placement of their child receiving special education services? (R Q2) What types of collaborative involvement parents experience with the school district during the initial review process? This qualitative study was conducted with n=10 research participants to discover their personal responses on how to create positive working relationships with campus level staff who are conducting Initial Evaluations on students to determine if the student qualifies to receive special education services. Parents continue to voice their concern regarding their involvement with the local school district and the role of the parent involvement is being further researched to identify positive ways to build a positive working relationship between the parent and the school district
Femmephobia and acceptance of disabled LGBTQ members within the LGBTQ community
The current study explores the effects of fragmentation and femmephobia on femme femme-identified disabled members of the LGTBQ community. This study utilized Hoskins's critical femme theory along with Goffman's theory of stigma as basic theoretical frameworks. I employed a qualitative method of inquiry and found high levels of fragmentation, femmephobia, and stigma in my research subjects. Further, I found signs of a possible connection between LGTBQ identity and autism. Additionally, I found reports of a lack of accommodations and the late diagnosis of disability

An assessment of placement stability via the child and family services review
The federal government has enacted several policies to support the stable placement of children in the child welfare system. From mandating that substitute care providers are “adequately prepared” to enacting a nationwide child welfare monitoring system, the need to ensure the proper care of children in the child welfare system is apparent. The Child and Family Services Review (CFSR) was created to monitor state compliance with federal child welfare mandates and improve state child welfare systems. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the CFSR data to identify improvements in state child welfare systems in areas critical to placement stability. A mixed-methods approach was utilized to assess the data from 41 states (n = 41). A profile analysis was run to analyze changes in the percentage of placement stability, educational needs, physical health, and mental health cases rated as a strength across CFSR rounds. A directive content analysis was then conducted to identify themes in state program improvement plans (n = 15) when placement stability was rated as an area of concern. Placement stability and related variables overall did not improve across CFSR rounds. Themes emerged from the data that showed states focus on developing state compliance strategies, improving pre-service placement selection, increasing staff and provider preparation when looking to improve placement stability. Implications of the study focus on how future research should further define federal policy on adequate substitute care provider preparation and the overall implementation of the CFSR. Policy and practice implications highlight the importance of policy in serving as a means to impact family level outcomes and the necessity of utilizing child welfare staff to facilitate this proces
