No full textIn which terms shall we describe the origins of the Single Grave Culture and the transition from its predecessors: evolution, revolution, migration? This article offers a regional approach to this problem, investigating the changes in ritual in the German states of northern Hesse and Westphalia. The transition from the TRB West Group and the Wartberg Culture to the Single Grave Culture reveals itself to be a long-lasting, complex and continuous process rangingfrom c. 3000 to 2600 BC. This was no revolution but a slow evolution, replacing the old set of traditions by a new ideology step by step

No full textVor mittlerweile zwei Jahrzehnten, Ende 1982, erschien die erste Auflage der Göttinger Typentafeln – ein Projekt, das als studentische Initiative am dortigen Seminar für Ur- und Frühgeschichte entstand. Der Verkauf blieb zunächst auf Göttingen beschränkt, doch bereits ein halbes Jahr später, 1983, war die zweite Auflage bundesweit zum Selbstkostenpreis erhältlich. Die erste Lieferung umfasste die Bände zum Neolithikum, zur süddeutschen Früh- und Hügelgräberbronzezeit, zur vorrömischen Eisenzeit in Norddeutschland und zur römischen Kaiserzeit. Später kamen die Bände zur nordischen Bronzezeit, zur Hallstattzeit (beide 1984) und zum Mesolithikum (1991) hinzu. Alle Typentafeln sind seit längerer Zeit vergriffen; eine Neuauflage ist nicht geplant
