    Mechanical and Electrical Characterization of Nanocomposites Liquid-Solid Conductive Ink on Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) Substrate

    With drastic development of wearable electronics have urged the studies on the conductive ink and flexible substrate. Wearable electronics consist of nanocomposites liquid-solid conductive ink and flexible substrate such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET). They were produced by using stencil printing method. This paper presents the mechanical and electrical characteristics of  conductive ink with unloaded condition. The conductive ink was printed with four patterns, which were straight, curve, square and zig-zag patterns. Then, all four patterns were tested for their surface morphology, surface roughness, sheet resistivity and bulk resistivity. Surface morphology showed that conductive ink with 3 mm width had less granular particle formed than conductive ink with 1 mm width. Surface roughness of conductive ink with 3 mm width was smoother compared to 2 mm width and 1 mm width. Sheet resistivity and bulk resistivity results indicated that resistivity of all four patterns decreased with the increase of the conductive ink width. From the result, it showed that conductive ink with straight pattern has the best performance. Meanwhile, individual result for each pattern had its own function inside the circuit track.

    Humans have two distinctive quotients that need to be considered such as Emotional Quotient (EQ) and Intelligence Quotient (IQ). Emotional quotient is also known as Emotional Intelligence (EI) which can be defined as the ability of a person on how they understand themselves and handle their emotion, as well as understanding society around them. Quantifying EI is an issue that has attracted various field of work. This manuscript aims to investigate the relation of EI in meditation using the human electroencephalogram (EEG) device. Low-cost 16 electrodes Emotiv Epoch neuroheadset was used in this study. A stimulus on a Quran recitation audio-visual was setup as the meditation intervention. The EEG signal obtained from this experiment showed that the Power Spectral Densities (PSD) of alpha brainwaves on the right frontal lobe were gradually reduced when the subjects are watching and listening to the Quran recitation’s video. Hence, the negative feelings were reduced which indicated that the participants are emotionally stable. This finding may suggest that humans are prone to relax when the Quran is being recited repeatedly. This finding further confirms that Quran recitation correlate with the self-awareness and self-regulate attributes of EI. Additionally, differences in response were observed from the male and female subjects

    Simulation and Practical Realization of A 24-Pair Electronic Continuity Test Circuit for MSAN ZTE

    The continuity test of a telephone line is a technique used very often by every Telecom site engineer. Continuity refers to communication that does not face any interruption. Very often, the continuity measurement takes place during troubleshooting to ensure that the lines are intact. The work presented in this paper is based on the principle of MDF continuity rule lines for MSAN site. It presents the practical realization of a continuity tester circuit to verify several telephone lines simultaneously, specifically 24 pairs (24 subscribers) at the same time. Our solution suggested for making troubleshooting in one of the outages/ malfunctions more flexible and fluid in terms of intervention and time for repair. A case study involving 18 sites in two different regions in Algeria, Constantine (without circuit) and El Oued (with circuit) was conducted and the results showed there was a gain ratio estimated at about 338/1361 (Min)

    Enhancing Organizational Performance: An Investigation of the Impact of Employees’ Commitment

    The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of employee commitment on organizational performance in a paper manufacturing industry in Melaka, Malaysia.  Three components of employee commitments (Affective Commitment, Normative Commitment and Continuance Commitment) were identified as the independent variables and organizational performance as the dependent variables.  The data was collected using a survey from 150 employees of the paper manufacturing company.  Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) was used to analyze the data collected from the respondents.  Correlation and regression analysis were performed to determine the association between the dependent and independent variables.  The research findings revealed that affective and continuance commitments have effects on organizational performance while normative commitment has no significant effect on organizational performance.  These results are significant in guiding top management in deciding the actions that they can take which could have a great impact on the organization performance.  Therefore, top management could focus more on building affective commitment and continuance commitment within the organization to enhance organizational performance

    Development of Residential Energy Harvesting System with Arduino Application

    The common electricity source is currently being generated through solar panel, wind turbine and hydroelectric. However, these methods require high cost and large space for the system operation. This paper proposed a Pico hydro free charging system from high pressure water of the home piping system stored to power bank for home lighting application. The usage of small-scale turbine in the system generated electricity to continuous charging the power bank. The power bank then acted as a free power source used to light up a 5V LED bulb as a free lighting source. The additional usage of Arduino helped to provide the information display on the generated current, voltage and the water flow rate. The piping size and length were evaluated and it was found that they significantly affected the voltage performance with the help of Arduino application for monitoring purpose. The uniqueness of this project is that it can be operated with a minimum water pressure of 15 Psi to generate renewable energy storage from incoming housing piping system

    Production of Fuel Briquettes from Hybrid Waste (Blend of Saw-Dust and Groundnut Shell)

    There is a great increase in the demand and cost of energy globally. The cost of purchasing petrol fuel is quite high; this has led the rural dwellers to concentrate on firewood as an alternative means of cooking, action which has greatly affected our ecosystem. This research is focused on the production of briquettes using waste sawdust and groundnut shell with starch and condemn oil as binder. These waste materials can be converted into a product that will provide alternative energy to the people rather than constituting environmental problems. The briquettes were produced using a modified briquetting machine developed at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Engineering workshop. It was observed that the density of the briquette produced increased with blend ratio, amount of binder and compaction time. Optimisation technique predicted briquette density of 278.1 kg/m3 at the optimal level of 8.0, 10% and 50 minutes for the blend, binder and compaction time respectively. Combustion related properties of the briquette at the optimum level were density(277.9 kg/m3), ash content (25.29%), moisture content (4.68 %wt), bulk density (3.03) g/cm3) and burning rate (0.46 g/min) and these values are in accordance with previous research studies. Conclusively, the briquette fuel formed is effective, affordable and can be used as solid fuels to support heating in local and industrialized settings. In addition, establishing a small briquetting firm will serve as an alternative source of energy for cooking, create job opportunities and raise the standard of living of youths

    Digital literacy is the set of competencies required for full participation in a knowledge society. It includes knowledge, skills, and behaviors involving the effective use of digital devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops for purposes of communication, expression, collaboration and advocacy. Along with this expansion came a number of security issues to affect mobile devices. A chance to have a tiny and powerful device that is Internet linked and allows communication from anywhere at any time is alluring as well as a problem for companies. Many individuals who have attached their personal smartphones to corporate networks have found out the hard way the cost of doing so. Specifically, there have been a handful of cases where individuals who attached their own personal devices to a company network had their personal phone wiped and all their data and other information lost that was stored on it. Why did this happen? Simply put, a system administrator sent out a remote wipe command to the device and instructed it to wipe itself of all apps and data to keep it from falling in the wrong hands. Or an administrator may have found the device and did not recognize it, so they wiped it in response. If we have an Android device or have read about the operating system, you may have heard the term “rooting the device.” In a nutshell, this refers to undertaking a process of gaining root access to a device. Typically, this involves running an application or script that grants root access to the user. Once access is granted, the user can do pretty much whatever they want on the system without restriction. However, one of the downsides of this process is that the device is now exposed to greater danger from external threats as well. Moreover, this article focus on how digital devices such as smartphones communication and store information for "media education" that is used to define the process of teaching and learning about media.     Strategies for Learner-Generated Comic Production in Classroom: A Comparative Analysis

    Essentially, comics are one of the most significant medium in transmedia storytelling for education. The purpose of this paper is to examine recent strategies used by teachers and instructors in implementing learner-generated comics in classroom.  Hence, the definition and evolution of comics is enlightened, followed up by how comics demystified diverse educational benefits by playing roles as cognitive and affective tool. Then, educational comics characteristics and the concept learner generated comics are discussed. Next, a comparative analysis is conducted on the educational practices in learner-generated comic production. The analysis is based on brief descriptions and disadvantages on the learner-generated comic techniques applied in classroom setting.     A Tunable Microstrip Planar Antenna using Truncated Ground Plane for WiFi/LTE2500/WiMAX/5G/C, Ku, K-Band Wireless Applications

    Reconfigurable antennas are key candidates for modern wireless communicating devices to perform multiple wireless operations on various frequencies. This paper is introducing a compact yet efficient design of frequency reconfigurable TX-Shaped monopole antenna with truncated ground plane. The substrate used is FR-4 having a height of 1.6mm. Optical reconfiguration technique enables proposed structure to tune to multiple resonant frequencies depending upon ON/OFF state of the switch. In switch ON state, antenna exhibit quad band characteristics in nature by operating at resonant frequencies ranging from (2282-2816MHz), (4525-5053MHz), (11946-14203MHz) and (16200-19180MHz). While in switch OFF state,proposed structure operates at triple bands having frequencies ranging from (2685MHz-3632MHz), (11985MHz-14234MHz) and (16014-19107MHz). VSWR is calculated less than 1.4 with efficiency ranging from 52.5% to 82.6%, while gain of antenna is calculated ranging (1.62dB-3.53dB). Proposed tunable TX-Shaped structure is able to serve wireless services that includes Wi-Fi (2400-2480MHz), LTE2500 (2500-2690MHz), WIMAX (3300-3800MHz), FCC allocated mid band for 5G (2500MHz/3500MHz) and Satellite Communication applications in IEEE bands that includes Cband (2000-4000MHz), Ku-band (12000-18000MHz) and K-band (18000MHz-27000MHz). Proposed frequency reconfigurable TX-Shaped antenna is low cost, low profile, lightweight and can be used in wireless devices i.e. IPADs, Mobile Phones, 5G device, Tablets, Wi-Fi routers etc. Design and evaluation of antennas’ parameters is observed and analyzed in CST Microwave Studio using Finite Integration Technique (FIT)

    Smart Indoor Parking System Based on Dijkstra’s Algorithm

    Smart Indoor Parking System is a parking system that assigns the car to the nearest parking to the entrance by using Dijkstra’s Algorithm and assigns according to the size of the car. There are many types of parking system have been proposed such as smart parking system by using Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) but all these methods have their own advantage and limitation. Besides that, there are also several problems with the current parking system such as lack of parking management system efficiency. Therefore, this Smart Indoor Parking System is proposed to increase the efficiency of current parking management system. The aim of this Smart Indoor Parking System is to provide the customer with the nearest parking to the entrance. The parking is assigned according to the size of the car to utilize the parking space. Then, the parking place is displayed on the monitor besides the boom gate before allowing the driver to enter the parking lot. The parking number will help the driver to be able to find a parking lot in a short period of time without the need to search the parking by themselves. The priority is given to the driver who presses the button first. The input signal from the IR sensor located at the entrance and the parking lot is processing to assign the nearest parking lot based on Dijkstra’s Algorithm. In this project, the simulation is carried out by using Proteus. This simulation includes all the circuits for determining the direction of the nearest parking lot. Programming in the Arduino is implemented to calculate the nearest parking lot based on Dijkstra’s Algorithm. In conclusion, the Smart Indoor Parking System can be used in the real-time application
