The Integration of Fuzzy Logic System for Obstacle Avoidance Behavior of Mobile Robot
A mobile robot has a capability of sensing its location under uncertain environment, planning a real-time path as well as controlling its steering angle and speed to reach the target location. A robust controller is embedded in mobile robot whilst analyzing the input and output that help it to navigate without colliding with any obstacles. Meanwhile, Fuzzy Logic Controllers (FLC) is an intelligent technique that proves to be the one of the most reliable controllers that suits well for nonlinear system like robot due to the simple control based on user input without any prior knowledge to the mathematical model. In this paper, the Mamdani and Sugeno FLC are developed for a mobile robot. The smoothness and efficiency that generated from these FLC isanalyzed based on simulation of Pioneer P3-DX robot in virtual robotic software for single and multirobot environments under static obstacles environment. Simulation results for the Pioneer P3-DX robot shows the Sugeno FLC able to produce smoother path and reach the goal faster than Mamdani FLC
HW/SW Co-design and Prototyping Approach for Embedded Smart Camera: ADAS Case Study
In 1968, Volkswagen integrated an electronic circuit as a new control fuel injection system, called the “Little Black Box”, it is considered as the first embedded system in the automotive industry. Currently, automobile constructors integrate several embedded systems into any of their new model vehicles. Behind these automobile’s electronics systems, a sophisticated Hardware/Software (HW/SW) architecture, which is based on heterogeneous components, and multiple CPUs is built. At present, they are more oriented toward visionbased systems using tiny embedded smart camera. This visionbased system in real time aspects represents one of the most challenging issues, especially in the domain of automobile’s applications. On the design side, one of the optimal solutions adopted by embedded systems designer for system performance, is to associate CPUs and hardware accelerators in the same design, in order to reduce the computational burden on the CPU and to speed-up the data processing. In this paper, we present a hardware platform-based design approach for fast embedded smart Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS) design and prototyping, as an alternative for the pure time-consuming simulation technique. Based on a Multi-CPU/FPGA platform, we introduced a new methodology/flow to design the different HW and SW parts of the ADAS system. Then, we shared our experience in designing and prototyping a HW/SW vision based on smart embedded system as an ADAS that helps to increase the safety of car’s drivers. We presented a real HW/SW prototype of the vision ADAS based on a Zynq FPGA. The system detects the fatigue/drowsiness state of the driver by monitoring the eyes closure and generates a real time alert. A new HW Skin Segmentation step to locate the eyes/face is proposed. Our new approach migrates the skin segmentation step from processing system (SW) to programmable logic (HW) taking the advantage of High-Level Synthesis (HLS) tool flow to accelerate the implementation, and the prototyping of the Vision based ADAS on a hardware platform
A Framework to Investigate the Use of MYeHalal Online System
MYeHalal system is a system developed to facilitate the application of halal certification in Malaysia. However, the competency of the system has become questionable as some of the applicants choose to hire consultants rather than applying for the certificate themselves. Thus, this situation has led applicants to spend unnecessary charges and wasting their own time instead of committing to apply the certification on their own. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to propose a framework to investigate the use of MYeHalal system using actor-network theory (ANT). ANT is used as a lens to identify the important factors that have influenced (facilitate or restrict) the usage of the system, also understand the ways, in which the technical actors and social actors interact with each other as they struggle to facilitate or restrict the halal certification application process via the use of the MYeHalal system. Further, a more user-friendly, efficient and better performing MYeHalal system could be developed to improve the users experience when they are applying for their halal certificate

EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF THERMAL DEFORMATION IN A 3D-PRINTING PROCESS WITH POLYMER FILAMENT
Thermal deformation generated in a 3D-printing process was investigated mainly by the measurement of the radius of curvature. 3D-printing have been widely applied in industrial products. High end models of 3D-printer have heating and heat retention function to reduce thermal deformation and further they have sometimes equipped with a computational simulation code to predict the thermal deformation. In the present study, a predicting method of thermal deformation for a low end 3D-printer was investigated so that the investment for the equipment is minimized, then the following results were obtained. Dominating parameters were quantified by the measurement and multiple regression analysis of proto-typed products with different dimensions, that is, it was found that the parameters having greater influence on the deformation were in the order of the amount of filament, the length, the width, the height, bottom area, the volume and the manufacturing time, respectively. A simple but convenient regression equation was obtained which will be used for an estimation and simulation of the thermal deformation in production with the 3D-printer without using any expensive simulation code

Design and Analysis of Centrally Suspended Cage-less Limited Slip Differential
Limited slip differential (LSD) plays an important role in maintaining speeds and in torque distribution between the wheels of the automobile even in case of variable traction. In the present project work, limited slip differential is considered and the objective of the project is to find out tangential, axial and radial forces involved in meshing of the differential gears theoretically. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is carried out on Final, Crown, Side and Ring gears made of 20MnCr5 material and running at a speed of 4000rpm and torque of 122N-m. From the analysis, it is found that the forces and stresses obtained are below the allowable stress of the material considered in designing gears of the differential. Maximum von-Mises stress is for Ring gear and Minimum for Side gears.
