Children's feelings and attitudes toward using generative AI tools in their art-making process
This paper explores the attitudes and feelings of 3 Singaporean primary school students, aged 9-12 towards employing Generative AI (GenAI) in art-making by focusing on their experiences with Kidgeni. Using observational studies and qualitative interviews, the study looks at how young people interact with AI-generated art and how it affects their art-making processes.Findings show mixed emotional reactions as participants report curiosity, annoyance, and times of satisfaction coupled with doubt. AI tools revealed limits in accuracy and control, which led to regular trial-and-error adjustments even while they promoted creative experimentation. Participants refined their prompts strategically, however many ultimately settled for results that did not entirely meet their expectations.Emphasising manual effort and creative authenticity, pupils nevertheless ultimately favoured user-created art-making skills while AI tools were valued for artistic inspiration and stylistic experimentation

Aerosols shape the vertical structure of convective overshooting in Southeast Asia through microphysical processes
The open access publication is available at https://doi.org/10.1029/2025gl116841Convective overshooting significantly influences atmospheric material and energy cycles and can cause severe social impacts; nevertheless, aerosol effects on its microphysical structure and associated extreme weather remain unclear. Using a more accurate algorithm of detecting convective overshooting and 10 years of high-resolution data, this paper investigated how aerosols affect convective overshooting, focusing on its long-term patterns, three-dimensional microphysical structure of precipitation such as particle size and concentration, as well as the relationship with extreme weather. Results show that convective overshooting occurred more frequently and intensely in the Maritime Continent, exhibiting a significant increasing trend. Aerosols exerted a stronger influence on convective overshooting during water vapor sufficient seasons, and polluted conditions produced larger but sparser raindrops, with raindrop diameters increasing by 1.2–1.76 times while concentration decreased by 20%. Moreover, aerosols enhanced convective overshooting impact on rain rates and lightning by 20% and 50%, respectively, nearly doubling the spatial influence area
