Water crisis in Parana: Causes and consequences
The water crisis that Paraná is going through is unprecedented in the last 90 years. Therefore, the objective of this work is to present the problem caused by it, mainly at the Paraná State, in which it has worsened since 2019. The El Niño and La Niña phenomena have relevant role in the temporal distribution anomalies of rainfall, causing, respectively, increase or decrease in precipitation in periods of marked variation in the average temperature of the Pacific Ocean. The scarcity of rain corroborates several sectors of society. According to Department of Rural Economy (in Portuguese: Departamento de Economia Rural – DERAL), the losses computed for soybeans represent more than R 2.2 billion and for beans, the losses exceed R$ 395 million. All this amount will stop circulating in the Paraná economy, affecting practically all segments. The measures that must be adopted by Paraná Sanitation Company (in Portuguese: Companhia de Saneamento do Paraná – SANEPAR), together with public policies, must not be only emergency and immediate, it must be planned and implemented with a view to the long term
Understanding and exploring social psychology in the context of human behavior
The range of social psychology is explored and broken down to understand the elements that make up the topic. Social Psychology looks at many different points of view and issues that ultimately define what it is. The researchers of this literature review look at the various topics, theories, and aspects related to and linked with social psychology and compose a paper explaining the different elements. Social psychology is the study of social interactions in society. In this research paper, the researchers concentrate mainly on the various moving parts that come together to describe social psychology, such as behavior, peer pressure, happiness, social media, social proof, prejudice and discrimination, inclusion, belonging and love, social influence, etc. There is a plethora of other parts that belong to social psychology. Therefore, these findings and explorations derived from earlier studies will be helpful for future researchers and all those who like social psychology and want to be knowledgeable about its importance and focus, which is determined based on individuals' communications and social behavior in different cultures and societies, which will be more critical
And if the time to passes relatively different for insects? Unfolding of Einstein's Theory of Relativity: the dilation of time to different systems of inercial references as a function of the inercial mass.
The purpose of this insight is to contribute to a possible development of Einstein's theory of relativity. Starting from the idea that gravitational fields deform the space-time fabric, affecting objects as a function of inertial mass. Thus, two objects or ecosystems equidistant from the same field, with significant differences in inertial masses, would also be subject to the same relativistic effects.O objetivo deste insight é contribir para um possível desdobramento a teoria da relatividade de Einstein.
Conflict resolution in Libya
This paper examines the role of key conflict elements such as solidarity among disagreeing groups and partisan foreign intervention in the complexification of the Libyan conflict. Incorporating evidentiary events along with a comparative application of different conflict theories (ripeness theory, instrumentalism, primordialism, protracted social conflict and constructivism), this paper argues that ideational factors top merely material factors in the Libyan conflict and no permanent solution can be achieved without changing people 's socially constructed identities and world view
Improving conversations with digital assistants through extracting, recommending, and verifying user inputs
Digital assistants, including chat bots and voice assistants, suffer from discrepancies and uncertainty in human text and speech inputs. Human dialogue is often varied, ambiguous, and inconsistent, making data entry prone to error and difficult for digital assistants to process. Finding and extracting pertinent information from unstructured user inputs improves and expands the use of digital assistants on any platform. By confirming data entries and providing relevant recommendations when invalid information is provided, the digital assistant enables the use of natural language and introduces a higher degree of flow into the conversation. This paper describes a series of input logic codifiers that form a corrective method to overcome errors and ambiguity typical of voice and text inputs. When users make a common mistake or forget data, the digital assistant can bridge the gap by recommending the most similar data that is available. The assistant measures the delta between the user’s utterance and valid entries using fuzzy logic to identify the closest and next closest data that relates to the unstructured text.Furthermore, there are endless ways to denote dates, locations, etc., making it difficult for digital assistants to extract accurate and relevant data from the user’s natural language. However, the assistant may infer the desired data format or reference from the dialogue provided and validate this with the user as a follow-on question. The desired data format or type is inferred using fuzzy extraction methods, such as fuzzy date extraction, to isolate the desired data format from the unstructured text. This extracted information is then verified or confirmed by the user to maintain data accuracy and avoid downstream data quality issues
Effects of beet juice supplementation in different concentrations and the importance of nitric oxide in endurance runners
More and more beetroot has been highlighted in sports, mainly in long-term aerobic modalities, due to its high concentration of nitrate (NO3- ), being an important precursor of nitric oxide (NO), providing an improvement in sports performance. The main objective of this study was to investigate the effects of acute ingestion of beetroot juice (BR), rich in NO3- in different concentrations in endurance exercise, evaluating performance, glycemic, cardiorespiratory and urinary responses of amateur runners. We hypothesized that BR would increase glucose uptake, minimize VO2max (maximum oxygen uptake), improve exercise economy and runners' performance. Nineteen male amateur runners were exposed to two conditions, ingestion of BR and PL (placebo), the individuals were divided into three groups (minimum, average and maximum concentration), being submitted to a 30-minute running test at maximum intensity, on a racetrack. Pre and posttest blood and urine samples were collected to determine glucose uptake, NO2- (nitrite) excretion, urinary pH and urinary density. Cooper's test also performed in order to assess VO2max. The main posttest results showed that through nitrite excretion there was a reduction of nitrate to nitric oxide (0 ± 0 vs 0.94 ± 0.23, P <0.05 (pre vs post)), increase in glucose uptake (139.94 ± 35.02 vs 122.88 ± 37.69, P <0.05 (PL vs BR)) and VO2max improvement(54.96 ± 6.87 vs 55.99 ± 6.88, P <0.05 (PL vs BR))], coinciding with the increase in physical performance (2972.63 ± 308.84 vs 3018.95 ± 309.29, P <0.05 (PL vs BR))]. The results found observed that beet supplementation in amateur runners increased glucose uptake, improved VO2max and running performance
A comparative study of the electrical properties of undoped schottky junction In/a-Si:H/AZO-Coated-Glass and In/SiNWs/AZO-Coated-Glass Solar Cells
Plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition (PECVD) is used to synthesise undoped hydrogenated amorphous thin film silicon (a-Si:H) and silicon nanowire (SiNWs) array for solar cell applications. Indium metal is used as the top contact electrode in Schottky junction configured solar cells devices represented as In/a-Si:H/AZO-coated glass and In/SiNWs/AZO-coated glass respectively. For six solar cell devices on each sample, its observed that charge carrier trap states are observed under dark conditions, despite indium metal's farther position on the various impurities in silicon mid-band gap and minimum temperature for Vapour-Liquid-Solid (VLS) Silicon nanowire growth, which is expected to not produce charge carrier trap states. In/SiNWs/AZO-coated glass solar device demonstrated non-rectifying and ohmic behaviour with no significant measurable solar cell device parameters, while In/a-Si:H/AZO-coated glass showed rectifying and Schottky behaviour with a reported average values of short circuit current (ISC) of (9.522 ± 0.82)A, open circuit voltage (VOC) of (0.305 ± 0.05)V, and ideality factor (n) of (4.7 ± 0.32)
Ratite phylogeny and distribution with comments on evolutionary processes
ABSTRACTThis paper explains the ubiquitous nature of character conflicts in a taxonomic group, and the ratites are a typical example. Convergence due to similar selection pressures is usually invoked to explain these contradictions. Two alternate mechanisms, orthogenesis and genetic drift, are proposed to explain contradictory distributions of derived characters. It begins with the premise that natural selection and organic change which follows can only occur once a genetic trait is expressed in a phenotype whereas either genetic drift or orthogenesis allows genetic change to proceed regardless of phenotypic expression. Genetic drift or orthogenesis when coupled with homeostasis point to alternate explanations of geographic distribution, a much older age of origin for taxonomic groups, and the explosion of diversity which occurs after major extinction events as well as at the beginning of the Cambrian. The non-concurrence between ratites' southern hemisphere distribution and the sequence of continental breakup are reconciled when assuming these alternate mechanisms are responsible. Characters currently used to test phyogenetic hypotheses are called into question as well as Occam's razor and assumptions used in Bayesian inference. The disparity between a taxon's first appearance in the fossil record and it's time of origin as determined by genetic clock studies is real and not the result of error.Running Head: RATITE PHYLOGENY AND EVOLUTION
Going deeper into third-person action anticipation
Analysing human actions in videos is gaining a great deal of interest in the field of computer vision. This paper explores and reviews different deep learning techniques used in third-person action anticipation. The task of action anticipation is divided into feature extraction and a predictive model for many architectures. This paper outlines a project plan for action anticipation in the third person using step-based activity. We will use several data sets to compare some of these different architectures based on their prediction accuracy and ability to predict actions in varying time frames
Judo for elite Brazilian women: A successful trajectory into the 21st century: A narrative review
Background: The objective of this study was to verify, in a perspective way, the history and evolution of the development of the Brazilian Elite Female Judo. Brazilian women's Judo is one of the best Judo teams in the world. Performance and achievement in Olympic and world championships has reached a significant and expressive increase. That is, of course, medal winnings at different competitive levels. Making it one of the most prestigious sport in Brazil. Methods: This is a Narrative Review study, where the Scielo, Google Scholar and PubMed databases were used, with no initial period restriction until the year 2022. Results: Women's Brazilian Judo evolved both individually and as a team. Achieving expressive results in national and international competitions, in the Olympic Games and World Championships. In addition, these results have raised the competitive level of the Brazilian judo team worldwide. It has solidified women within sport and combat sports. However, some barriers (social resistance, lack of investment, little credibility and social representation) persist, albeit with less intensity. Conclusion: We conclude that Brazilian Women's Judo is a strong representative in the competitive, social and world scenario. In addition, that the participation of women raised the sport to a high level of social representation
