The 1968-69 Student Senate with great plans for the new year were
set back when the Christmas Formal was canceled due to the weather,
but carried out successfully their plans for the Fifth Annual Frost Festi-val
and the Spring Formal.
Realizing the plea of the tired student body, the Student Senate
acquired benches for the halls. The Student Senate also awards scholar-ships
seven students, in the amount of $100. The Executive board of
Student Senate spent many long hours planning the welcoming of the
new freshmen and they also handle Student Senate elections.

Directed by Mr. Francais Elliot, our BJC orchestra is
. composed of members from the college, the local high
schools, and the community of Bismarck. It is nationally
recognized as the only junior college orchestra in the North
Central Region.
Appearances this year have included the Bach Magnifi-cat
with Dr. Berger and a trip by the String section to Fargo
for the National Convention of Music Education of Junior
Colleges. Also at this convention, BJC was well represented
by Mr. Elliot and Mr. Gervais who were main panel
speakers.

This year saw the beginning of what
probably will be a long rivalry with Mary
College. Twice the Mystics proved their
competitiveness with victories over the
Marauders.
New school spirit and a feeling of unity
added to the basketball season's success.
