splashing through a sudden howe r . . opened
umbrellas clustered around a dormitory door.
... a stolen kiss behind the coatrack ... spe-cial
smiles across a study table ... first lakes
of snow ... Christma time ... distant echos of
a type wr ite r down a darkened hallway ... a
7:30 class on a spring morning ... nodding
hellos to the same p ople at the same hour. . .
lost in a flurry of faces ... a familiar chair in
a classroom ... cigarettes and coffee ... the
sunhleached sandbars. . • f l n a Is. . . laughter
