Advocacies of Education for Women in England up to the Mid-19th Century and Women's Autonomy (1)
Get PDFThe purpose of this paper is to survey several important advocacies of education for women up to the mid-19th century in England in order to offer a historical and cultural perspective on literature and culture of those times. While delineating their arguments for education for women, this survey traces some aspects of the arguments in common, for they eventually stimulated early feminists to form a movement for higher education open to women during the latter half of the century. The paper consists of two parts (1) and (2). In the first part, the advocacies made by Mary Astell, Hannah More and James Frederick Denison Maurice are examined. Although they had different ideas about education for women, they shared a deep concern about developing women's mental and moral autonomy trusting women's intelligence. In the second part, the advocacies made by Hannah More, George Eliot who discussed the arguments of Mary Fuller and Wollstonecraft, and James Stuart Mill are examined. Unlike the former advocates, these feminists were not educators themselves, but defended education freely open to women, based on the idea of diversity of women's abilities equal to men's. They also stressed women's mental and moral autonomy developed through education as a crucial factor to form a better relationship with men. Improving Teaching Materials of Microscale Experiment and Performing Practical Lessons on Classifying Aqueous Solutions into Acidic, Neutral, and Basic Ones in Japanese Elementary School Science - Using Grape Peels and 6-Well Plate -
Get PDF小学校理科では、水溶液の酸性、中性、アルカリ性の識別に関して、第6学年の「水溶液の性質」で取り扱われる。これに関する児童実験を行う場合、試薬調製や廃液処理に経費や時間を要する。また、通常の45分授業内で実施するのも困難である。これらの問題を解決するには、教材のマイクロスケール化を図ればよい。著者は高等学校化学で実践したブドウ（巨峰）の果皮を用いた水溶液の液性（酸性、中性、アルカリ性）の識別教材および小学生向けの液性識別教材をもとに、6穴ウェルプレートを用いた水溶液の酸性、中性、アルカリ性の識別に関するマイクロスケール実験教材の改良を試みた。その結果、通常実験の10分の1程度の試薬量で実験できることが判明した。さらに、小学生を対象に、本教材を用いた授業実践を行った。いずれの小学生も真剣に取り組み、正確に水溶液の酸性、中性、アルカリ性を識別できた。児童の実験に対する取り組む様子や事後アンケートの結果からも、教材としての有用性が認められた。departmental bulletin pape
Examining Foreign Language Activities in Elementary Shools: Retrospective of the English Activity Lessons Led by Students in the Teacher Training Course from Kobe College
Get PDF2020年度から新学習指導要領が導入されることになり、小学校の英語に関する項目が大きく変わろうとしている。現在5、6年生に課されている『外国語活動』が3、4年生に、そして５、6年生には『外国語』という新しい科目が導入されることになる。『外国語』という名称ではあるが、児童が学ぶ言語は英語であり、今後は英語も正式な教科として扱われる。小学校教員が英語の免許状を保持していない等、指導教員についても問題があるが、文部科学省はこの方針で小学校の英語教育を進めている。このことを受けて、本論では小学校の英語教育について考察する。また、本学４年次教職課程の学生がボランティアとしてかかわっている西宮市立西宮浜小学校と山口小学校における英語活動についても取り上げている。これは小学校１年生から4年生を対象にした活動であるが、その活動についてもこれを機会に振り返る。さらにこの変化を受けて、今後の学生による活動の在り方についても考えている。departmental bulletin pape
