À l’approche des échéances électorales de cette année, nous proposons une nouvelle méthode d’estimation du revenu fiscal que pourrait rapporter à l’État une taxe à 1% à partir d’un patrimoine de 1 million d’€, à 2% à partir de 2 millions d’€ et à 3% à partir de 3 millions d’€. No full textThe Australia-Tuvalu Falepili Union treaty established a “special human mobility pathway” between Australia and Tuvalu, the latter being a Pacific Island State whose territory is threatened by sea level rise. This bilateral agreement received broad international media coverage and has been qualified by many as a groundbreaking treaty. Nevertheless, many of its aspects remain unclear. Even if the annex documents to the treaty and the existing case law are tools to better understand these uncertainties, we should stay cautious about the scope of this bilateral agreement. In the end, it will take years of application and interpretation to fully understand the extent of the groundbreaking character of this agreement

Why Does Anything Exist? In Search of the Best Possible Answer
Get PDFRasmussen develops a new answer to the question, "Why does anything exist?" He begins by describing a puzzle about how anything can exist. The puzzle motivates the quest to explain things as far as one can. To solve the puzzle, Rasmussen describes a sequence of scenes in a story about existence. The story brings to light a three-pronged explanation of existence: (i) things exist because it is impossible for nothing to have existed, (ii) it is impossible for nothing to have existed because there is a foundational reality that cannot not exist, and (iii) such a foundation would have a certain nature—to be specified—that allows it to be foundational. Rasmussen considers how this theory of fundamental reality can incorporate other large scale theories, including Platonism, axiarchism, and naturalism

Dental characteristics in Pallister-Killian Syndrome using Cone Beam Computed Tomography: Illustrated case report
Get PDFPallister-Killian Syndrome (PKS) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by the mosaic presence of a supernumerary isochromosome consisting of two short arms of chromosome 12, leading to a variety of complications, including those related to oral and dental health. This case report marks the first case report on the dental characteristics of a patient with PKS using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). A 17-year-old female with PKS was reported exhibiting bilateral maxillary sinus hypoplasia, along with taurodontism in teeth n°15 and n°16, and an unusual “crayon-like” morphology in teeth n°14, n°15 and n°25. Moreover, hypoplasia of the sphenoidal sinuses, accompanied by left sphenoidal sinusitis, was noted.
A multidisciplinary dental approach is advocated for managing individuals with PKS. Further research incorporating a larger sample is critical to comprehensively assessing the dental features of PKS using dental radiography. Additionally, the development of an open-source CBCT database cataloging dental characteristics for rare dental conditions, including PKS, may be a suitable tool to access to reference images and to share information on orphan diseases with dental implications.

An association of dieticians indeed advises the managers of aid systems to prepare parcels that are close to an ideal food pyramid, albeit based on low-cost products and avoiding comfort foods rich in added sugar. This approach condemns recipients to a relatively austere diet that does not consider their tastes and preferences.L’aide alimentaire, observée dans une banque alimentaire et des dispositifs de distribution de colis, avant et après la pandémie de coronavirus, est soumise à des impératifs moraux, budgétaires et sanitaires tendant à imposer aux populations financièrement démunies un mode de nutrition à visée diététique. Une association de diététicien.es conseille en effet aux cadres des dispositifs d’aide de confectionner des colis s’approchant d’une pyramide alimentaire idéale, quoique fondée sur des produits à bas prix et évitant tout aliment-réconfort riche en sucre ajouté. Cette visée condamne les bénéficiaires à une alimentation relativement austère qui ne tient par ailleurs pas compte de leurs goûts et préférences
