Shear Capacity on Corroded Fly Ash Reinforced Concrete Beam Using Galvanostatic Method

    Get PDF
Corrosion can be triggered by a chemical reaction to the materials, establishing reinforced concrete's failure. For a long time, researchers have tried to find out how to prevent corrosion, a main structural construction issue. As a technology of waste material, fly ash has predominance, i.e., it is safer and greener than Portland cement. The finer size of fly ash can be an advantage in filling the concrete materials well. This research is about using fly ash as supplementary material on reinforced concrete beams and the galvanostatic method to accelerate corrosion. This research will compare the shear strength after corrosion of each normal beam and fly ash as a supplementary beam. A shear test of fly ash and a normal reinforced beam has been applied. Results showed that fly ash beams have 14% higher compressive strength and 3% higher shear strength with 14% smaller crack width than normal beams after corrosion. It also has a 3,5 times lower rate and 62% level of corrosion than normal bea

IMPULSE BUYING BEHAVIOR DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC WITH CASH ASSISTANCE FROM THE GOVERNMENT

    Get PDF
The distribution of government cash assistance during the pandemic for people affected by Covid-19 is aimed at easing the economic burden of the community. However, the provision of cash assistance is indicated not to be used to alleviate needs; aid funds are used to meet hedonic needs. This study determines whether the social assistance funds are consistent in meeting the needs of life or only for hedonic desires. A study was conducted on the effect of hedonic shopping and money available on impulse buying. Samples were 213 respondents. This study uses SEM PLS. The results of this research showed that hedonic shopping positively affected impulse buying. However, money available does not affect impulse buying. Positive emotion will further strengthen hedonic shopping and money available in impulse buying. This study concludes that it is not proven that cash transfer funds are used to fulfil impulse buying behaviour. However, if people with hedonic shopping and money available characters receive an in-store stimulus, they are vulnerable to impulse buying. Future research of this study is to compare impulse buying behaviour in people in big cities and small cities

    Get PDF
Berenuk fruit (Crecentia Cujete L) is a non-food plant often found in tropical areas. Berenuk has quite a high content of carbohydrates and its derivatives. Among them are 18.61% carbohydrates, 59.86% sucrose, 25.09% fructose, and 18.24% galactose, so berenuk fruit has the potential to be a source or ingredient for bioethanol. The bioethanol process from biomass goes through several steps: raw material preparation, hydrolysis process and fermentation. The hydrolysis process is the process of breaking down carbohydrate into glucose units which are connected by β-1,4 glycosidic bonds. Another method of breaking sugar polymers can be done using alternative energy such as ultrasonic waves (50Hz, 50W) or microwaves. In this research, an ultrasonic-assisted acid hydrolysis process was carried out. The type of acid used is concentrated sulfuric acid (H2SO4). Ingredients ratio 1:20 (w/v) berenuk powder sample with sulfuric acid. The sulfuric acid concentrations used were 1 M, 2 M, and 3 M. Hydrolysis times were 40 minutes, 60 minutes, and 80 minutes at a temperature of 1000C. The results of research that has been carried out on the preparation process of bereneuk fruit have an average water content of 97.44%, so treatment is required before proceeding to the hydrolysis and fermentation process, namely by drying the drying process is carried out directly in sunlight for seven days, then continued by heating the oven for 8 hours at 1000C. In the ultrasonic wave assisted hydrolysis process carried out at a H2SO4 concentration of 3 M, a hydrolysis time of 80 minutes, and a temperature of 1000C produces 22.20% glucose
