Going beyond the technical issues of tonal patterning, this episode discusses how the regulated poetic forms of Shakespearean sonnets and Chinese regulated verse embody the Western dualistic and Chinese yin-yang worldviews, respectively. Shakespeare’s sonnet 18 and Du Fu’s Spring Scene are compared, in both form and content, to illustrate the fundamental differences in the Elizabethan and traditional Chinese thinking about nature and humanity.

論曹文軒兒童文學作品裏「身體受虐」對兒童本位觀的體現
Get PDF曹文軒，1954年出生在江蘇省鹽城市，2016年獲得安徒生獎，該獎素有諾貝爾兒童文學獎的美譽。其創作的兒童文學作品有《草房子》、《細米》、《青銅葵花》等，作品善於觀察兒童的生活，用詩意的語言和悲憫情懷展現兒童生活悲傷和苦難的一面。大多學者研究曹文軒作品的語言技巧和主旨思想，或人物形象的塑造，缺乏從創作理念的角度切入論述，亦欠缺人物的身體書寫分析。
本文以曹文軒作品裏的兒童身體受虐為研究對象，以兒童本位觀的創作理念對照分析。第一章為緒論，分別説明本文之寫作緣起、兒童文學領域對兒童本位觀和身體敘事的研究，及本文採用的研究方法；第二章以曹文軒作品中疾病、殘疾和死亡三種身體受虐形式，探討它們如何與兒童本位觀的創作視角、兒童價值和個體意義三個層面相呼應；第三章承接上章從曹文軒作品內部對於身體書寫和兒童本位觀的分析，擴大至各個時期兒童文學對於兒童本位觀的接受——先從五四時期的兒童的發現開始，後闡釋各個時期對於兒童視角和成人視角的選擇。第四章為結論，整合全文中心要點
論蘇偉貞女性眷村小說「封閉」的意義
Get PDF眷村第二代作家蘇偉貞在八零年代因作品多以男女情愛為主，被批評缺乏討論現實問題。筆者認為，蘇偉貞雖然表面上聚焦男女情慾的問題，但是其小說的核心關懷實爲探討第一代眷村女性在臺灣歷史中「失語」的困境，並藉此思考第二代女性放下歷史包袱、勇於走出「封閉」眷村的可能性。故本論文主張蘇偉貞從其眷村小說《有緣千里》開始探討眷村內部的女性議題，並在臺灣解嚴後出版的小說中《離開同方》正式為族群的女性發聲。
本論文以這兩部小說作為研究對象，首先討論蘇偉貞寫作時的「封閉」狀態，並延伸分析小說中兩代眷村女性所面臨的困境。第三章將藉分析兩代女性「封閉」的內心世界，探討第一代眷村女性在臺灣歷史中「失語」的困境以及第二代女性逃離的慾望。第四章則反思兩代眷村女性如何通過追尋自我，尋找走出這個「封閉」世界的意義
江門市居家養老研究報告 = A research report on ageing in place in Jiangmen City
Get PDF本研究旨在瞭解江門市”社區居家養老”的狀況及需求，以便當局制定服務，讓長者能在自己最熟悉的地方養老。
硏究採用「量性研究」(Quantitative research method) 的方法，以問卷收集了482位居住在江門市城市、鄉鎮和農村60歲或以上長者的個人狀況和對居家養老的意見。
硏究發現8成以上長者偏好在家養老及覺得其現在居所環境適合養老，但超過一半長者居所的安全性成疑，這包括居所存在鼠患蟲患、住屋光線不足和缺乏維修等。另外，有大約3成認爲社區設施便利性有待提升。
在社交支持方面，超過8成老年人擁有良好的社交支持網絡，出入醫療場所和在生活上遇到難題時能獲得幫忙；少部分無法尋求任何幫助。值得注意的是，尋求正式機構協助的長者不多。
在財務狀況方面，約6成長者主要收入來源為退休金，另外少於半數老年人依靠兒女資助。有部分受訪者依賴存款，政府補貼和勞動收入。受訪者月收入偏低，以1000~4000元爲主，部分沒有任何收人。被訪者的醫療保險覆蓋率接近9成，約有2成人對承擔醫療費用感到吃力。
參與是次研究的受訪者普遍身體狀況和自理能力良好，7成以上滿意當前生活狀態 (包括居所狀況、社會支持、居家安老安排、社區設施及其生活條件)，認爲目前條件能支持他們居家養老。
本研究提出五大建議。第一，雖然目前大部分受訪者滿意當前生活狀態，居家養老服務供給水平仍有改進空間。為應付老年人口急增，政府應加速發展養老業。第二，社區和居家環境需配合長者的身體機能和需要，進行適老化改造，以支持他們在家養老。第三，爲減輕長者醫療費用的負擔，建議政府篩查符合救助標準的長者，提高老年人醫療補貼。第四，為了讓更多老年人能在社區組織中獲得適切的正式服務支持，政府應加大服務購買力度，增加服務名額同時提升服務質素。第五，子女對年長父母的陪伴和依靠是不能缺乏的，但部分子女沒有很好地履行贍養義務。爲增加子女對年老父母的照顧力度，政府應從教育、媒體方面營造社會尊老敬老氛圍

Contentious politics : digital media and transnational feminist activism
No full textContemporary Chinese feminist activism has involved substantive use of digital technologies and social media for racial and gender justice. This talk focuses on feminist activism, digital media, and contentious politics by critically engaging with how Chinese feminists’ use of digital media for civic engagement and political participation to advance their agendas in the transnational public arena. Liao particularly pays attention to the practices and experiences of Chinese feminists both in mainland China and in the US by investigating cases of cross-national organization, mobilization, and activism fighting against racial injustice and misogyny. In those cases, Chinese feminist networks are largely based on social media platforms such as Weibo and WeChat—the two such platforms most used by Chinese nationals—both in China and abroad. Their networks have also quickly expanded to include English-language sites such as Twitter, Instagram, and, increasingly, the multi-lingual live discussion app Clubhouse. In these contexts, Liao explores how these feminists use digital media to influence transnational and local politics and advance feminist causes and racial justice

Grand Opening Ceremony of the Library and Off-site Learning Centres of Lingnan University
No full textLingnan University keeps on enhancing the learning environment of the University to meet the current and evolving teaching, learning and research needs of the University. Recently, Fong Sum Wood University Library has completed its large-scale spatial reorganization of the 1/F and the building of a new mezzanine floor to provide new space and state-of-the-art facilities to serve as the learning hub of the University. At the same time, the University has also extended its learning space to other off-campus sites. We have established teaching venues at Jao Tsung-I Academy at Mei Foo and Union Park Learning Centre at Prince Edward to cater for the needs of academic program development of the University.
