GWU Alumna Sherika A. Montgomery Named Commissioner of The Big South Conference
Get PDFThe Big South Conference has named Sherika A. Montgomery, a two-time Gardner-Webb University alumna, as its new commissioner following a national search. Montgomery, who played basketball at GWU and served as a Big South staff member from 2010-17, becomes the fourth commissioner in the history of the Big South. She officially begins her duties on May 15. She replaces Kyle Kallander, currently the second-longest tenured NCAA Division I multisport conference commissioner. Gardner-Webb Team Helps Build Houses in Kenya While Sharing the Hope of the Gospel
Get PDFThis summer, a mission team from Gardner-Webb University traveled to Kisumu, Kenya, in partnership with Houses of Hope, a ministry of Baptist on Mission. Their goal was to build and dedicate four homes for families in need. Coming out of the trip, the members of the team talked about much more than construction.
