Wykrywanie wiedzy w dużych zbiorach danych: przykład personalizacji inżynierii ontologicznej. Telekomunikacja i Techniki Informacyjne, 2011, nr 1-2
W artykule, po przedyskutowaniu szeroko rozumianego pojęcia inżynierii wiedzy, a w szczególności inżynierii ontologicznej, koncentrującej się na wykrywaniu wiedzy w dużych zbiorach tekstu, omówiono rezultaty prac wykonanych w Instytucie Łączności PIB w ramach projektu badawczego zamawianego „Usługi i sieci teleinformatyczne następnej generacji – aspekty techniczne, aplikacyjne i rynkowe”. Prace wstępne i rozpoznawcze doprowadziły do sformułowania założenia na przyjazny, spersonalizowany system wspomagania wyszukiwania wiedzy w dużych zbiorach tekstu. Efektem końcowym zaś jest pilotowy system PrOnto wykorzystujący narzędzia inżynierii ontologicznej w dwóch aspektach: jednym – wspomagającym wyszukiwanie informacji w dokumentach elektronicznych na podstawie osobistej ontologii użytkownika i drugim – wspomagającym współdzielenie źródeł wiedzy przy wykorzystaniu modeli ontologicznych. Artykuł kończą wnioski co do stosowalności różnych metod wykorzystania narzędzi inżynierii ontologicznej oraz sposobów kontynuacji prac

Success Factors for SOA Implementation in Network Centric Environment, Journal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2011, nr 1
This paper discusses challenges and success factors for service oriented architecture (SOA) implementation in network centric environment. The authors identify 9 fundamental challenges for the SOA approach in order to make the biggest benefit for the NATO NEC (NNEC) and increase the mission effectiveness to the highest extent. They cover the areas of applicability to existing military communications and the ability to reflect military processes. Their range is quite broad, pointing out technological as well as SOA governmental problems. The authors emphasize that any COTS solution available on the market today is able to overcome all of them at once. However, they propose solutions to some of the problems and present quick wins that can speed up the process of achieving capabilities in a heterogeneous multinational NEC environment
Topological Synthesis of Tree Shaped Structures Based on a Building Blocks Hypothesis Journal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2011, nr 4
In this paper a new approach to evolutionary controlled creation of electronic circuit connection topology is proposed. Microwave circuits consisting of a tree like connection of ideal transmission lines are considered. Assuming that a reasonable number of transmission lines in a tree network ranges from 10 to 100, the number of connection combinations is immense. From the engineering practice comes the hypothesis that any device can be decomposed into some functional building blocks consisting of one to dozen transmission lines. The variety of linking combinations in a tree with a limited depth is confined to hundreds or thousands of shapes. Therefore we can decrease the dimensionality of research space, applying evolution to building blocks only. Evolutionary algorithm (EA) which processes simultaneously the population of l functional blocks and population of µ circuits is proposed. A , µ, l , selection scheme with tournament together with specific encoding of solutions, and custom operators is implemented. The , , µ, l, a , , EA was tested on an example of the design of a microwave transistor matching circuit

The primary network layer protocol on which the operation of most computer networks is based, including the Internet is the Internet protocol version 4 (IPv4). Due to the limitations of this protocol, it is becoming increasingly widespread use of the Internet protocol version 6 (IPv6). The IPv6 implements some new features not available in IPv4. The paper provides a short overview of the key features of IPv6 and discussed the possible levels of network virtualization. The research environment to testing the level of support for IPv6 protocol by virtualization environments is proposed. The results of tests conducted using the proposed research environment for Hyper-V virtualizer are presented
The INTERSECTION Framework: Applied Security for Heterogeneous Networks, Journal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2011, nr 1
Inherent heterogeneity of the networks increases risk factor and new security threats emerge due to the variety of network types and their vulnerabilities. This paper presents an example of applied security framework – the INTERSECTION. By referring to the ISO/IEC security standards and to the FP7 INTERSECTION project results, authors underline that in the processes of managing and planning security, investigating technology and business governance should be at least as important as formalizing the need for decisions on security cooperation between operators. INTERSECTION provides security mechanisms and introduces capability possible only with a management solution that is at a higher level than that of any of the connected systems alone
