The Effect of COVID-19 on Substance Use and Mental Health on a College Campus
In this research, the author surveyed a university population to determine the impact that COVID-19 has had on substance use and mental health. Current research provides significant data indicating worsening mental health and substance use. This paper looks at how applicable those trends are to a small private university in Indianapolis, Indiana. The data included 261 respondents composed of students, faculty, and staff of the university. The results reveal that college students, faculty, and staff experienced statistically significant increases in feelings of unhappiness, depression, loneliness, hopelessness, agitation, and irritability during the pandemic compared to before the pandemic. Data analysis of survey responses reveals that COVID-19 had a negative impact on mental health and substance use and decreased the frequency of sharing of e-cigarette devices
Roe V. Wade and Beyond
Within our Zine Roe v. Wade and Beyond, our group has examined the implications of the overturning of Roe v. Wade and how this affects different groups. This zine explores the history of this landmark Supreme Court case, and helps readers understand what the effects of this decision are. In addition to looking at the politics that are associated with this debate and this decision, the Zine also investigates different problems associated with obtaining an abortion such as education and skin color. The Zine seeks to educate readers about how abortion affects a variety of women, as well as help others decide how they can get involved if they are passionate about reproductive justice. Through the creative design and useful information provided in our project, we hope that this will provide readers with useful information pertaining to abortion, Roe v. Wade, and more.https://digitalcommons.butler.edu/spring_2023/1008/thumbnail.jp
Behind Closed Doors
This Zine works to bring awareness and education to domestic abuse in the United States. A history report of what has been done thus far to advocate against domestic abuse is included, as well as explanations of different tactics and models that are continuously used to combat the issue. Additionally, stories of women’s experiences with domestic violence are told to describe the issue in a real way. Tools and information about red flags, healthy relationships, and supporting and escaping domestic abuse provide individuals with ways to move forward as they approach the issue.https://digitalcommons.butler.edu/spring_2023/1007/thumbnail.jp
Misbehaving
This zine was not only created with the intent to inform about the lesser known women of the feminist movement and their dedication to the environment, worker\u27s rights, and reproductive rights, but also to humanize them and recognize them as women beyond their heroism.https://digitalcommons.butler.edu/spring_2023/1002/thumbnail.jp
