Stop Pollution Save The Earth
No full textWHY THIS SUBJECT? chose to focus on environmentalism in order show awareness to the issue of pollution and to show the harm it is doing to our world. I believe it is important that we realize what we are doing to our world and that we should all make better environmentally friendly choices to save our planet.
WHAT SHOULD WE KNOW ABOUT THE WORK? You should know that this work is intended to show all types of pollution and those being air, water, and land pollution. They all impact the world negatively and it harms the way we and animals live.
WHAT WAS YOUR PROCESS? When working on this piece, I used photoshop to put the images and illustrations together. I wanted this to be shaped as the world so that it is obvious that it is a global issue. I intended to do this in a collage like style in order to paste photographs so it shows that it is a real life problem. I also illustrated bottles, cans, and plastic bags on top of the photos because I wanted the viewer\u27s attention to go first to the trash.https://digitalcommons.colum.edu/capturingprotest/1018/thumbnail.jp
Interview with Nurrah Muhammad
Get PDFNurrah Aishah Muhammad (she/hers) was born in Detroit, Michigan. As a baby, her family moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she was raised for the majority of her life. She attended Muhammad university of Islam, where she would go on to participate in extracurriculars that focused heavily on engineering and animation. During her time in high school, she would go on to participate in computer science internships at places like the University of Illinois at Chicago as well as the Field Museum. Following her graduation, she decided to shift her focus solely on art, majoring in animation and minoring in filmmaking at Columbia College Chicago. Interview with Claire Belhumeur
Get PDFClaire Belhumeur was born in Southhampton, New York and was raised in East Hampton, New York. As an only child, Claire’s household consisted of herself, her parents, and their family dog. She attended high school at East Hampton High School where she graduated in 2018. With both parents working in the film industry and through various school productions, she discovered her love of acting that lead her to pursue a BFA in Acting at Columbia College-Chicago in the fall of 2018. During her time at Columbia, Claire became involved with the school’s modeling organization, the Picture Perfect Modeling Troupe, as well as several student films. In 2020 during her sophomore, spring semester, the Coronavirus caused Columbia College to shut down along with the rest of the world. Since Claire could no longer continue living on campus, she returned to her hometown of East Hampton, just outside of New York City where the virus was most prevalent in the nation. Claire and her family currently remain in their East Hampton home, attempting to avoid the New York City residents that flooded the Hamptons to escape the growing infection rates in the city.https://digitalcommons.colum.edu/capturingquarantine/1000/thumbnail.jp
