    Potential Content of Palm Oil at Various Levels of Loose Fruit in Oil Palm Circle

    Harvesting fresh fruit bunches (FFB) is an important activity in the oil palm plantation industry. This study aimed to analyze the potential content of palm oil at the level of loose fruit that falls on the oil palm circle. Observations were made on five fresh fruit bunches with criteria 1, 3, and 5 respectively loose fruit per bunch that falls on the oil palm circle from oil palm trees that were 22, 16, 12, and 7 years old. All sample fresh fruit bunches were analyzed for potential oil to bunch ratio and oil to wet mesocarp ratio in the analytical laboratory of Bumitama Gunajaya Agro. Content of oil to wet mesocarp ratio in loose fruit 1, 3, and 5 were 48.50%, 51.98%, and 53.21% respectively. While the content of oil to bunch ratio in loose fruit 1, 3, and 5 were 24.19%, 25.52%, and 25.71% respectively. Based on variable of oil to wet mesocarp ratio, the highest potential for oil content occurs in ripe palm fruit with a level of five loose fruit   per bunch that falls on that oil palm circle. Five loose fruit per bunch on the oil palm circle can be used as an indicator for harvesters to harvest ripe fruit with optimal oil content.Harvesting fresh fruit bunches (FFB) is an important activity in the oil palm plantation industry.     STRATEGI PENGEMBANGAN AGROINDUSTRI TEMPE DI KECAMATAN BALIK BUKIT KABUPATEN LAMPUNG BARAT

    The study aims to analyze the development strategy for the tempe agroindustry.  This research uses survey method at Sebarus District, Balik Bukit Regency, West Lampung purposively.  The data collected in March 2020.  The data were analyzed by using the IFAS and EFAS matrix and SWOT analysis.  The result showed that tempe agroindustry was in I matrix (growth strategy).  The development strategy were the production of high quality product so tempe is in demand by various society levels, the production of high quality product because of the good technology which makes production time faster, the production of high quality product and the good skills of human resources so product competitiveness is high, and good skills by utilizing support from the government.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi pengembangan agroindustri tempe.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei di Kelurahan Sebarus, Kecamatan Balik Bukit, Kabupaten Lampung Barat yang ditentukan dengan sengaja.  Data dikumpulkan pada Maret 2020.  Data dianalisis dengan metode analisis matriks IFAS dan EFAS serta analisis SWOT.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa agroindustri tempe berada pada matriks I (strategi agresif).  Strategi pengembangannya adalah produk yang dihasilkan berkualitas sehingga tempe diminati oleh berbagai lapisan masyarakat, produk yang dihasilkan berkualitas karena adanya teknologi alat mesin produksi yang membuat waktu produksi lebih cepat, produk yang dihasilkan berkualitas dan keterampilan sumber daya manusia yang baik sehingga daya saing produk tinggi, serta keterampilan sumber daya manusia yang baik dengan memanfaatkan dukungan dari pemerintah.   Kata kunci: agroindustri, strategi, SWOT, temp

    EFISIENSI TEKNIS USAHATANI TEBU RAKYAT DENGAN PENDEKATAN STOCHASIC FRONTIER DI KABUPATEN LAMPUNG UTARA

    The objectives of this research were to find out the income of sugar cane farming, technical efficiency of sugar cane farming and determine the factors influencing the technical inefficiency of sugar cane farming in North Lampung Regency. The location was determined purposively, considering that North Lampung Regency has been the center of sugar cane production in Lampung Province. The number of respondents in this research were 35 respondents for plant cane (PC) criteria and 50 respondents for ratoon cane (RC) criteria, sampling was used by random sampling methods. Data were collected from February to March 2020. The analytical methods that used were farm income analysis and stochastic frontier approach. The study shows that the average income for total cost of sugar cane farming PC and RC criteria was Rp6.549.817,82/hectare and Rp13.547.014,64/hectare. Sugar cane farming in North Lampung Regency is technically efficient with a percentage of 96 percent and 91 percent for PC criteria and RC criteria, the factors that influence technical inefficiency in sugar cane farming was the level of farmer education and farmer participation in extension activities for PC criteria and for RC criteria was age and education level of farmers.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghitung pendapatan usahatani tebu, menganalisis efisiensi teknis usahatani tebu dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi inefisiensi teknis usahatani tebu di Kabupaten Lampung Utara. Penentuan lokasi dilakukan secara sengaja, mengingat Kabupaten Lampung Utara selama ini merupakan sentra produksi tebu di Provinsi Lampung. Jumlah responden dalam penelitian ini adalah 35 responden untuk kriteria plant cane (PC) dan 50 responden untuk kriteria kepras I, pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan pada bulan Februari sampai Maret 2020. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis pendapatan usahatani dan pendekatan stochastic frontier. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendapatan rata-rata untuk biaya total usahatani tebu kriteria PC dan kepras I adalah Rp6.549.817,82 /hektar dan Rp13.547.014,64 /hektar. Usahatani tebu di Kabupaten Lampung Utara secara teknis efisien dengan persentase 96 persen dan 91 persen untuk kriteria PC dan kriteria kepras I, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi inefisiensi teknis usahatani tebu kritera PC adalah tingkat pendidikan petani dan keikutsertaan petani tebu dalam kegiatan penyuluhan.     PELATIHAN PENGEMASAN PRODUK OLAHAN PANGAN PADA SMKN 1 NEGERI BESAR WAY KANAN

    Kemasan merupakan suatu hal yang sangat penting guna menunjang pemasaran suatu produk. Produk yang baik hendaknya memiliki kemasan yang baik pula, disamping untuk menjaga kualitas, kemasan juga dapat menjadi daya tarik bagi konsumen untuk membeli produk tersebut. SMKN 1 Negeri Besar Way Kanan merupakan salah satu sekolah menengah kejuruan yang ada di Kabupaten Way Kanan yang memiliki jurusan agribisnis dengan fokus ke arah pertanian dan menghasilkan produk-produk olahan pangan. Produk pangan olahan yang dihasilkan oleh siswa di SMKN 1, masih belum memiliki kemasan yang baik. Keterbatasan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam membuat kemasan menjadi faktor utama dalam pengembangan dan pemasaran produk. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, perlu dilakukan pemberian informasi dan pemahaman mengenai pentingnya kemasan yang baik bagi suatu produk. Pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan metode penyuluhan, diskusi, dan pelatihan. Kegiatan pengabdian diikuti oleh guru-guru SMKN 1 Negeri Besar Way Kanan. Para peserta dapat memahami pentingnya kemasan yang baik bagi produk. Para peserta mengalami peningkatan keterampilan dengan rata-rata 50,67 dalam pembuatan kemasan produk olahan pangan. Para peserta dapat meningkatkan kualitas kemasan produk olahan pangan. Kata kunci: kemasan, pelatihan, produkKemasan merupakan suatu hal yang sangat penting guna menunjang pemasaran suatu produk.     RESPONS PADI INPARI TERHADAP MUTAGEN SODIUM AZIDE

    The objective of this study was to study the response of rice cv. Inpari to soaking time in sodium azide mutagen in terms of sensitivity, seedling performance, and genetic distance based on morphological characters. An experiment was conducted using a split-plot design with rice variety (Inpari 31, 32, and 33) as the main plot, and the soaking time in sodium azide (0, 5, 10, 15, and 20 hours) as the subplot. The result showed that Inpari 32 had more sensitivity, and higher germination and seedling growth performance compared to Inpari 31 and 33. The closest phylogenetic relationship occurred between Inpari 31 and 33 without mutagen, and between inpari 32 and 33 with a soaking time of sodium azide 10 and 20 hoursSodium azide mempunyai kapasitas dalam induksi perubahan genetik dalam mengindikasikan kapasitas hasil tanaman dan sensitivitas terhadap kondisi lingkungan tercekam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon padi inpari dengan perlakuan lama perendaman pada mutagen sodium azide terhadap sensitivitas, karakter bibit, dan jarak genetik berdasarkan karakter morfologi. Percobaan disusun menggunakan rancangan petak terbagi dengan varietas padi (Inpari 31, 32, dan 33) sebagai petak utama, dan lama perendaman mutagen sodium azide (0, 5, 10, 15, dan 20 jam) sebagai anak petak. Hasil menunjukan bahwa Inpari 32 lebih sensitif (LD50), dan lebih baik pada karakter daya kecambah dan karakter bibit dibandingkan dengan Inpari 31 dan 33. Jarak genetik terdekat ditunjukan antara Inpari 31 dan Inpari 33 tanpa mutagen, dan antara Inpari 32 dan Inpari 33 dengan perendaman sodium azide selama 10 dan 20 jam

    PERANAN PENYULUH PERTANIAN DALAM MENINGKATKAN KINERJA KELEMBAGAAN KELOMPOK TANI PADI SAWAH PENERIMA BANTUAN RICE MILLING UNIT (RMU) DI KOTA BANDAR LAMPUNG

    This study aims to analyze: 1) the level of the role of agricultural agents; 2) the level of institutional performance of farmer groups; 3) the relationship between the level of the role of agricultural extension agents and the institutional performance of rice farmer groups in the use of RMU in Bandar Lampung City. This research was conducted in the city of Bandar Lampung with 56 farmer respondents. Methods of data collection using a survey method, with descriptive analysis and using a non-parametric rank spearman correlation statistical test to test the hypothesis.     Efikasi Kombinasi Herbisida Metil Metsulfuron dan Asam Asetat pada Lahan Perkebunan Kelapa Sawit (Elaeis gueenensis Jacq.) Menghasilkan

    One of the obstacles that resulted in a decrease in palm oil production was the presence of weeds. Weed control needs to be done to suppress weed growth. A mixture of methyl metsulfuron herbicide and acetic acid herbicide can be used to control weeds. This research was conducted in Politeknik Negeri Lampung’s Teaching Farm. This study used a factorial randomized block design with two factors, and each treatment combination was repeated three times. The first factor is the methyl metsulfuron herbicide 20% with 3 level doses: 0 g.ha-1, 45 g,ha-1, and 75 g.ha-1 and the second factor is acetic acid herbicide 20% with 3 level doses: 0 ml.ha-1, 225 l.ha-1, and 315 l.ha-1. The result showed that the combination of methyl metsulfuron herbicide 75 g.ha-1 and acetic acid herbicide 315 l.ha-1 effective reduce weed dry weight up to 5.50 grams at 5 WAA and reduce weed cover percentage to 8% at 6 WAA. The dominant weeds that arises after the application of the methyl metsulfuron herbicide and acetic acid is Asystasia gangetica, Paspalum conjugatum, Panicum dichotomiflorum, Stachytarpeta indica, and Imperata cylindrica.On of the obstacles that resulted in a decrease in palm oil production was the presence of weeds.     Climate is one of the factors that influence the growth, and production of palm oil, one of the most important climate elements is rain. Rain is the main source of water in meeting the needs of palm oil trees. This research aimed to map the climate type of Bintang Bayu region and to determine the trend of rainfall in 10 years (2010-2019) in Bintang Bayu Sub-district, Serdang Bedagai District, Sumatera Utara Province. This research used Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and descriptive-analytical methods. Rainfall data derived from satellite imagery (Data Chips-2.0, UCSB) obtained from the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Stasiun Klimatologi region of Deli Serdang which was used as the basis for determining dry and wet months based on Schmidt-Ferguson. Evaluation of rainfall suitability was carried out by comparing the annual rainfall observation data with the Palm Oil Land Suitability Criteria based on the Indonesian Center for Agricultural Land Resources Research and Development. The results showed that Bintang Bayu Sub-district had climate type A (tropical rain forest), in which, in the area with climate type A was suitable for palm oil plants. Based on the distribution of annual rainfall, there were two distributions of rain, that were 2,500-3,000 mm.year-1 and 3,000-3,500 mm.year-1, there were no areas with an annual rain distribution of 2,000-2,500 mm.year-1, thus the Bintang Bayu region is included in the S2 class. In ten years, there was an increase in rainfall in January, May, July, and October while in other months there was a decrease in rainfall.Iklim merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi pertumbuhan dan produksi kelapa sawit, salah satu unsur iklim yang sangat penting adalah hujan. Hujan sebagai sumber air utama dalam memenuhi kebutuhan tanaman kelapa sawit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan tipe iklim wilayah Bintang Bayu serta mengetahui tren curah hujan dalam kurun waktu 10 tahun (2010-2019) di Kecamatan Bintang Bayu, Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Penelitian dilaksanakan menggunakan metode Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) dan deskriptif analitis. Data curah hujan bersumber dari citra satelit (Data Chips-2.0, UCSB) yang diperoleh dari Badan Meteorologi dan Geofisika (BMKG) Wilayah I Medan yang digunakan sebagai dasar untuk menentukan bulan kering dan bulan basah berdasarkan Schmidt-Ferguson, selanjutnya ditentukan nilai Q dan untuk memetakan iklim digunakan Software ArcGIS 10.3. Evaluasi kesesuaian curah hujan dilakukan dengan cara membandingkan data pengamatan curah hujan tahunan dengan Kriteria Kesesuaian Lahan Kelapa Sawit berdasarkan Balai Besar Penelitian Dan Pengembangan Sumber Daya Lahan Pertanian. Tren curah hujan bulanan dalam kurun waktu 10 tahun dianalisis menggunakan regresi linier. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kecamatan Bintang Bayu memiliki tipe iklim A (hutan hujan tropis), yang mana pada wilayah dengan tipe iklim A cocok untuk tanaman kelapa sawit. Berdasarkan sebaran hujan tahunan, terdapat dua sebaran hujan yaitu 2.500-3.000 mm tahun-1 dan 3.000-3.500 mm tahun-1 dan tidak ditemukan wilayah dengan sebaran hujan tahunan 2.000-2.500 mm tahun-1, dengan demikian wilayah Bintang Bayu termasuk kelas S2.     Rice Market Integration in Lampung Province

    The price of rice depends on the relative influence of certain market and the mechanism of price transmission of one market to another (farm gate market system). The analysis of market integration can be obtained through some measurements among others by price correlation and price transmission analyses. This research is to analyze the integration of free market in some districts of Lampung Province. The samples are two regions which are Central Lampung, which is the production center, and Bandar Lampung as the center of consumers market. The data used are monthly time sequel data provided by the Food Crops and Horticulture Office and the result of observation in some markets both in Central Lampung and Bandar Lampung. The data related to price of rice in the markets were obtained from the markets in the two regions within 2009 until 2011.Based on the analyses, the correlation price of rice in producer and consumer levels in Lampung Province indicated by the value of price transmission is bigger than one. This indicates that if there is a price of rice change in the level of retailers as big as one percent, it will be followed by the changes as big as 1,783 % in the farmers. It also means that the changes in the level of farmers are slightly bigger than the price in retailers. The value of the correlation analyses of free market of rice indicated by IMC is 0.415. This indicates that integration level of both markets is relatively high. If IMC < 1 or close to zero, the market integration level will be higher.     Factors Affecting Employment Waiting Period for the Graduates of DIII Accounting of State Polytechnic of Lampung

    This study is to empirically test the effect of cumulative GPA, English language skills, and gender toward the employment waiting period of the graduates of DIII Accounting of State polytechnic of Lampung. This research was conducted on the batches III to V of graduates of Diploma in Accounting of State Polytechnic of Lampung. A multiple regression model was used to test the hypothesis proposed. The results indicate that Academic ability (GPA ) and English language proficiency give a negative effect on employment waiting period of the graduates, while gender did not affect differently.Keywords : employment waiting period, GPA , English language proficiency : gende
