    Potensi Pengembangan Peternakan Sapi Potong di Kecamatan Seputih Banyak Kabupaten Lampung Tengah

    Cattle are one of the most popular types of livestock and are widely cultivated by breeders in Indonesia, especially beef cattle, which are meat-producing livestock that have high protein content and economic value. Beef cattle breeding business in Indonesia is traditional in nature, maintenance by breeders is generally a relatively small number and is a side business. Central Lampung Regency has the opportunity to develop beef cattle farms, especially in Seputih Banyak District. The population of beef cattle in Seputih Banyak District is one of the largest in Central Lampung Regency. The potential for abundant agricultural waste at harvest can be used as a source of feed ingredients. The method used for sampling was purposive sampling with 86 breeders as respondents. The variables observed in the study were: ownership status of beef cattle, breeders age, farmer education level, breeding experience, total ownership of beef cattle, main job of breeders, supporting beef cattle business including the type of cattle kept, housing and labor, feed, capita, equipment and marketing. Based on the results and discussion of beef cattle ownership status as much as 77% self-owned, breeders 47% age 40-50 years, education level 45% high school graduates, farming experience 51%, total livestock ownership 62% <5 cattle, main job breeders 70% as a farmer, 76% of Bali's cattle and 72% of marketing use Dutch services. It can be concluded that Seputih Banyak Subdistrict, Central Lampung Regency has the potential to be used as a beef cattle development area

    KARAKTERISTIK MINUMAN PROBIOTIK SARI JAMBU BIJI MERAH DENGAN PENAMBAHAN EKSTRAK KAYU MANIS DAN KAYU SECANG

    Red guava was a potential fruit that could be used as raw material for probiotic drinks. The addition of spices such as cinnamon and sappan wood could increase the acceptance of its sensory properties as well as its functional benefits. This study aims to determine the effect of spices (cinnamon and sappan wood) and spice concentration on total lactic acid bacteria, total acid, pH and sensory properties of red guava juice probiotic drink fermented with Lactobacillus casei bacteria. The treatments were arranged in a Completely Randomized Block Design (RAKL) with two factors and three replications. The first factor was the type of spice which consists of cinnamon (J1) and sappan wood (J2). The second factor was the concentration of spices, namely 1% (K1), 2% (K2), 3% (K3), 4% (K4), and 5% (K5).The data were analyzed by comparison test and orthogonal polynomial (OP/OC) at 5% level. The results showed that the type of spice (cinnamon and sappan wood) significantly affected the total lactic acid bacteria (LAB), total lactic acid, aroma, and overall acceptance of the red-spiced guava juice probiotic drink. Spice concentration had a significant linear effect on total lactic acid bacteria (LAB), total lactic acid, pH, and aroma, quadratic effect on taste and overall acceptance of red guava juice probiotic drink. The addition of  3% cinnamon extract resulted in a red-spiced guava juice probiotic drink with the best characteristics with a total LAB of 10.93 log cfu/ml; titrable acidity of 0.49%; pH of 4.25; hedonic  taste score of 3.31 (medium like);  hedonic aroma score of 3.24 (medium like); and an overall acceptance score of 3.53 (likes). Jambu biji merah merupakan buah potensial yang dapat digunakan  sebagai bahan baku minuman probiotik.   Penambahan rempah-rempah seperti kayu manis dan kayu secang  dapat meningkatkan penerimaan sifat sensori maupun manfaat fungsionalnya.  Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh jenis rempah  ( kayu manis dan kayu secang) dan  konsentrasi rempah terhadap  total bakteri asam laktat, total asam, pH dan sifat sensori  minuman probiotik sari jambu biji merah yang difermentasi dengan bakteri Lactobacillus casei.  Perlakuan  disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkap (RAKL) dengan dua faktor dan tiga ulangan.  Faktor pertama adalah jenis rempah yang terdiri dari kayu manis (J1) dan kayu secang (J2).  Faktor kedua adalah konsentrasi rempah yaitu 1% (K1), 2% (K2), 3% (K3), 4% (K4), dan 5% (K5).  Data dianalisis dengan uji lanjut perbandingan dan polinomial ortogonal (OP/OC) pada taraf 5%.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis rempah (kayu manis dan kayu secang) berpengaruh  nyata terhadap total bakteri asam laktat (BAL), total asam laktat, aroma, dan penerimaan keseluruhan minuman probiotik sari jambu biji merah berempah.  Konsentrasi rempah berpengaruh nyata secara linier terhadap total bakteri asam laktat (BAL), total asam laktat, pH, dan aroma, berpengaruh secara  kuadratik terhadap rasa dan penerimaan secara keseluruhan minuman probiotik  sari jambu biji merah .  Penambahan ekstrak kayu manis 3% menghasilkan minuman probiotik sari jambu biji merah berempah dengan karakteristik terbaik yaitu total BAL 10,93 log cfu/ml; total asam laktat 0,49%; pH 4,25; skor rasa 3,31 (agak suka); skor aroma 3,24 (agak suka); dan skor penerimaan keseluruhan 3,53 ( suka)

    Analysis of the Adoption Rate of BATAN Mutant Rice Varieties in the Musi Rawas Area

    The adoption of innovations of superior mutant rice varieties expected to help communities overcome hunger and food insecurity by providing easier access to food for poor people in rural areas. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of adoption of farmers for irradiated rice and analyze the factors that influence farmers in adopting irradiated rice. This research was conducted from October to November 2018 in Musi Rawas Regency using a survey method. Data obtained from interviews with 75 farmers who have applied the mutant variety. Survey data obtained were analyzed using SEM. The results showed that the technology adoption rate of mutant rice varieties reached the experimental stage; and There are three latent constructs that are significantly (ρ <0.01) positively correlated, namely: farmer preference (X2) to adoption rate (Y1), support of extension agent (X5) to farmer characteristics (X1) and farmer preference (X2)

    ABSTRAK Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di Local Education Center (LEC) Kartikatama, Metro, yang difasilitasi oleh Pemerintah Kota Metro untuk para pra purnabakti PNS di Lingkungan Pemerintah Kota Metro. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi oleh para pensiunan ini adalah hilangnya peran individu yang telah lama menjadi bagian dari dirinya, hal ini akan memicu stress, cemas, dan bahkan depresi jika individu tidak siap untuk menghadapi masa pensiun. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan serta keterampilan tentang hidroponik skala rumah tangga pada PNS yang akan memasuki masa pensiun, sehingga dapat memunculkan jiwa wirausaha serta dapat berkarya di lingkungan masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini adalah ceramah dan praktik langsung untuk menyemai benih sayuran, meracik nutrisi, dan merakit instalasi hidroponik. Target utama dari kegiatan ini adalah budidaya sayuran hidroponik skala rumah tangga pada kelompok PNS pra purnabakti di Lingkungan Pemerintah Kota Metro.     Export Competitiveness of Lampung Province Cassava Starch

    This study analyze comparative and competitive advantages export of Lampung Provincecassava starch. The data used secondary time series data for period 2009-2020. The methodused is quantitative descriptive method. Data analyses used revealed comparative advantage(RCA), the trade specialization index (ISP), and the Porter's diamond model. Research wasconducted on March-June 2021. The result showed that Lampung Province cassava starchhas comparative advantage or strong competitiveness with an average value RCA 16,92. TheISP value shows a result of 0,69 or in a growth position and Lampung Province tends to bean exporter of cassava starch. In terms of competitive advantage Lampung Province hasweak competitiveness because the main component do not supported each other.Tujuan penelitian menganalisis keunggulan komparatif dan kompetitif ekspor pati ubi kayu Provinsi Lampung. Data yang digunakan merupakan data sekunder time series periode 2009-2020. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Analisis menggunakan analisis revealed comparative advantage (RCA), indeks spesialisasi perdagangan (ISP), dan model berlian Porter. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Maret-Juni 2021. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pati ubi kayu Provinsi Lampung memiliki keunggulan komparatif atau berdaya saing kuat dengan rata-rata nilai RCA sebesar 16,92. Nilai ISP menunjukkan hasil sebesar 0,69 atau berada dalam posisi pertumbuhan dan Provinsi Lampung cenderung sebagai pengekspor pati ubi kayu. Disisi keunggulan kompetitif Provinsi Lampung berdaya saing lemah karena keterkaitan empat komponen utama yang tidak saling mendukung

    Pengaruh Pemberian IAA pada Pembibitan Setek Vanili (Vanila planifolia) yang diperkaya Bakteri Pelarut Fosfat dan Bakteri Pelarut Kalium

    Propagation of vanilla plants is generally using vegetative methods like cuttings. The use of external growth regulators can support the growth of nurseries. Phosphate solubilising bacteria and potassium solubilising bacteria as plant growth promoting rhizobacteria are producing microbial IAA. This study used auxin in synthetic IAA combined with IAA microbes from phosphate solubilising bacteria and potassium solubilising bacteria. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of each microbe at each dose of synthetic IAA that was applied. The study was conducted from November 2021-April 2022 in the Biological Soil Laboratory and Greenhouse University of Jember. The research uses a randomised block design with three replications with the factorial arrangement. The first factor was organic matter which was enriched with bacterial isolate (B0 = control, B1 = BPF isolate, and B2 = BPK isolate). The second factor was concentration of IAA (A0 = 0 mg.l-1, A1 = 100 mg.l-1, and A2 = 200 mg.l-1). The data were analysed by ANOVA and further tested with Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) with a 95% confidence level. The results showed that treatment of synthetic IAA affects the parameters of length and volume of adventitious roots, which are effective in helping to supply nutrients with the best treatment at a concentration of 200 ppm. Meanwhile, enrichment of media with isolates of phosphate solubilising bacteria and potassium solubilising bacteria gave a better effect than control on the observation of tendril length, number of leaves, number of adventitious roots and taproots, length of adventitious roots and taproots, the volume of adventitious roots and taproot, and fresh weight of vanilla seedlings.Propagation of vanilla plants is generally using vegetative methods like cuttings.     Implementation of Filling Out Lecturer Evaluations by Students (EDOM) which is carried out at the end of each semester during the Semester Final Examination (UAS) activities, has been developed into an online computerized information system using a MySQL database. As the amount of data in the EDOM information system increases, data storage that has a high complexity is needed, so that from the database side it must have high performance and can handle large amounts of data. For the needs of the EDOM information system, MySQL is no longer able to provide its best performance in handling large amounts of data, so a database that has better performance is needed. The purpose of this final project is to Migrate MySQL Database to PostgreSQL on Application System (Evaluation of Lecturers by Students) EDOM Department of Economics and Business, in order to overcome the problem of MySQL database which is no longer able to provide its best performance in handling large amounts of data. The system development method used is the SDLC method. Based on the results of tests carried out by testing query performance on both dbms, PostgreSQL has a stable performance compared to MySQL, at the same amount of data MySQL excels in regular updates and selects without additional clauses. Meanwhile PostgreSQL excels at creating, deleting data and complex join clauses. The next test is carried out on the application using the php function, namely microtime by writing a script at the beginning of the body and before closing the body of the html page on applications that use MySQL and PostgreSQL dbms, carried out to test the speed in loading data in EDOM system applications, the result is that the use of PostgreSQL dbms is faster in load data, because the data is presented using complex join clauses. This is because PostgreSQL supports locking at a lower level, namely row so that it becomes one of the advantages in doing database migration because the business processes in the EDOM System Application are made more effective.Pelaksanaan Pengisian Evaluasi Dosen Oleh Mahasiswa (EDOM) yang dilakukan setiap akhir semester ketika kegiatan Ujian Akhir Semester (UAS), telah dikembangkan menjadi sistem informasi terkomputerisasi secara online menggunakan database MySQL. Seiring bertambahnya jumlah data pada Sistem informasi EDOM, dibutuhkan penyimpanan data yang memiliki kompleksitas yang tinggi, sehingga dari sisi database harus memiliki kinerja yang tinggi pula dan bisa menangani jumlah data yang besar. Untuk kebutuhan pada sistem informasi EDOM,  MySQL sudah tidak mampu memberikan performa terbaiknya dalam menangani jumlah data yang besar, sehingga diperlukan database yang memiliki kinerja lebih baik lagi. Tujuan dari tugas akhir ini adalah Memigrasikan Database MySQL ke PostgreSQL pada Sistem Aplikasi (Evaluasi Dosen Oleh Mahasiswa) EDOM Jurusan Ekonomi dan Bisnis, agar mengatasi masalah pada database MySQL yang sudah tidak mampu memberikan performa terbaiknya dalam menangani jumlah data yang besar. Metode pengembangan sistem yang digunakan adalah metode SDLC. Berdasarkan  hasil pengujian yang dilakukan dengan cara menguji kinerja query pada kedua dbms, PostgreSQL mempunyai performa yang stabil dibandingkan dengan MySQL, pada jumlah data yang sama MySQL unggul pada update dan select biasa tanpa klausa tambahan. Sementara itu PostgreSQL lebih unggul pada create, delete  data dan klausa join yang kompleks. Pengujian selanjutnya dilakukan pada Aplikasi menggukan function php yaitu microtime dengan menulis script pada awal body dan sebelum tutup body halaman html pada aplikasi yang meggunakan dbms MySQL dan PostgreSQL, dilakukan guna menguji kecepatan dalam  memuat data dalam aplikasi sistem EDOM, hasilnya penggunaan dbms PostgreSQL lebih cepat dalam memuat data, karena data disajikan menggunakan klausa join yang kompleks, hal ini dikarenakan PostgreSQL  mendukung locking di level yang lebih rendah, yaitu row sehingga menjadi menjadi salah satu keuntungan dalam dilakukannya migrasi database karena proses bisnis pada Aplikasi Sistem EDOM yang dilakukan menjadi lebih efektif

    Agricultural Research and Development Agency continues to innovate to produce technology in agriculture. One form of the latest agricultural innovation is the Jajar Legowo Super Rice Cultivation Technology. The innovation continues to be disseminated to farmers to encourage rice production. One of the development areas is in the village of stunting. The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of production of new superior varieties of rice with the application of Super Jarwo Rice cultivation technology. Study locations in Tanjung Rejo Village, Payung Rejo Village, Payung Dadi Village, Pubian District, Lampung Tengah Regency. The assessment method was denfarm field activities on rice fields with an area of 10 ha. The implementation of innovation with Jarwo Super Rice cultivation technology. Rice variety planted by Inpari 30, Inpari 31, Inpari 33. Inpari 42, Inpari 43. Rice planting was carried out in the 2nd planting season (April-August 2018) The results showed that the highest production was found in Inpari 42 varieties with an average yield 5,560 kg of dry harvested grain / ha. Planting of new varieties of rice is able to boost rice production around 1,000-1,500 kg of grain per ha compared to the existing varieties planted by farmers on land with limited water resources.     Superior varieties are one of the technologies that play an important role in increasing the quantity and quality of agricultural products. The real contribution of superior varieties to the increase in national rice production is reflected in, among other things, the achievement of rice self-sufficiency in 1984. This is related to the properties possessed by superior rice varieties, including high yield, resistance to pests and major diseases, early maturity suitably developed in certain cropping patterns, and the taste of rice is delicious (fluffier) with relatively high protein levels. The purpose of this activity is increasing the production, quality and distribution of source seeds (staple seeds, scattered seeds) of rice to ensure availability in accordance with user needs, 2) Accelerating the development of superior varieties that are able to increase production, productivity and quality and realize the development of seed and production systems paddy 3) Strengthen seed institutions to ensure seed distribution goes quickly and precisely, and 4) Support efforts to provide quality assisted seeds for farmers. Source seed production activities carried out from January to December 2016 on irrigated paddy fields in East Ogan Komering Ulu District For Unit Processing Centers placed at Kayuagung Experimental Garden. Technically, the timing of field activities adjusts to field conditions. Production of FS, and SS grade rice seedlings using Inpari 22, Inpari 27, Inpari 28, Inpari 29 varieties, with a planting area of 10 hectares. Data collected includes growth and yield performance data. Furthermore the data that has been collected is tabulated and analyzed (quantitatively). The final result of the multiplication of seeds planted in the irrigation area produced certified tons of dry milled rice, consisting of Inpari 27 (FS) varieties of 1270 kg, Inpari 28 (FS) 1680 kg), Inpari 29 (FS) 2160 kg,1600 kg) and Inpari 28 (SS) 1965 kg, and Inpari 22 (SS) 16,035 kg.     Pengaruh Formula Pembenah Tanah Organik Granul Terhadap Sifat Kimia Tanah Dan Pertumbuhan Tanaman Pada Lahan Kering Masam

    Acid upland needs to be managed intensively to overcome the inherent constraints of the physical and chemical properties of the soil. Research on the effect of granular organic soil amendment formula to the soil chemical properties and plant growth on acid upland was carried out in the greenhouse.The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of granular organic soil amendment formulas that have been enriched with humic compounds as a substitute for lime to improve soil chemical properties and plant growth. The study was conducted with a pot experiment using a randomized block design with 10 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments are consist of 3 types of soil amendment, namely lime, chicken manure compost (CMC) and cow dung compost (CDC), each with 3 dosage levels. Mungbean plants are used as indicators planted in pots with 3 plants each. The results revealed that lime as soil amendment quickly increased soil pH and decreased exchangable Aluminium (Exch-Al). Meanwhile the formula CMC is superior in increasing soil organic carbon. The CMC also increase soil pH and reduce the exch-Al levels, but the intensity is lower than lime. The CDC soil amendment has less effect on increasing pH and neutralizing exch-Al. The CMC soil amendment can increase the growth and production of mungbean. Mungbean dry biomass increased about 60% and grain production increased about 56% compared to control treatment. The growth and production of mungbean from CMC treatment is better than lime treatment. It can be concluded that chicken manure compost and cow dung compost can be used to substitute of lime as soil amendment on acid upland.
