Get PDFThe article provides an overview of the jubilee events, devoted to the 300th anniversary of the Library of the Russian Academy of Sciences, held in October-November, 2014. In the context of contemporary problems of library and information activities and continuity of knowledge development there was highlighted the research conference «Library of the Academy of Sciences: 300 years of Dedicated Service to Science». The attention is drawn to one of the major activities of the library, defining the outline of the ongoing and upcoming changes: improvement and development of the automated information-library system of the Russian Academy of Sciences, which solves the problem of openness and accessibility of the collections to the wide range of users.Статья представляет собой обзор юбилейных мероприятий в честь 300-летия Библиотеки Российской академии наук (БАН), прошедших в октябре-ноябре 2014 года. В контексте современных проблем библиотечно-информационной деятельности и преемственности развития знаний освещена научная конференция «Библиотека Академии наук: 300 лет служения науке». Обращено внимание на одно из основных направлений деятельности библиотеки, определяющее контуры происходящих и предстоящих изменений: совершенствование и развитие автоматизированной информационно-библиотечной системы РАН, решающей задачу открытости и доступности фондов для широкого круга пользователей

Get PDFThere is described the role of the Multifunctional center, operating on the basis of Kaluga Regional Special Library for the Blind named after N. Ostrovsky as a powerful system of providing public and municipal services to the population, allowing comprehensive development of library and integration of person into social environment. There are listed information services provided by the library for population of city and region, as well as presented a diagram of the results of the first year of work of the multifunctional centers based on the regional research, municipal and special libraries and conducted the analysis of service quality in this development area.В статье раскрыта роль многофункционального центра, работающего на базе Калужской областной специальной библиотеки для слепых им. Н. Островского как мощная система предоставления государственных и муниципальных услуг населению, позволяющая многогранно развиваться любой библиотеке и интегрировать человека в социум. Перечислены информационные услуги, предоставляемые библиотекой для населения города и области. Представлена также диаграмма результатов первого года работы многофункциональных центров на базе областной научной, городской и специальной библиотек, и проведен анализ качества обслуживания по данному направлению

Get PDFThe article presents information on the International scientific conference XIX Pavlenkov Readings held on 13-15 October, 2015 in the National Library of Russia, traditionally considering the history of book publishing in pre-revolutionary Russia of the 19th - early 20th century. The conference was devoted to I. Frolova - the historian-bibliognost, a quarter of century having led the Sector of bibliology of the National Library of Russia. At the plenary session and three sections (“History of publishing, History of book collections and rare books”, “History of censorship”) there were highlighted various aspects of book culture history of the Russian Empire: issues of publishing, bookselling, history of censorship, libraries, readership, bibliophilism, and book publishing in the province.
