Get PDFThe article is devoted to the issues that are only beginning to be widely discussed among the professionals - what is the role of modern libraries in the urban development, whether the library can and should be the active element affecting the life of local communities, the development of the tourism industry, whether the investments are feasible in the development of the library system.Currently libraries start to be perceived everywhere not only as socially significant cultural and educational institution, but also as a significant agent of urban and regional development. In some cases, the appearance of the library, which is becoming «an icon of the city», is dramatically changing the way of life and the vector of economic development in the region. That’s why the attention of politicians and businessmen in the planning of large-scale urban facilities has increasingly switched to libraries. Numerous studies also confirm the growing popularity and interest to the library services and opportunities among various strata and social groups of population around the world. The libraries themselves and moreover the activities that occur around them, have a significant impact on the urban development - today it is the reality already proved by the analysis

Get PDFThe Russian State Library hosted the Third International Youth Conference “Common Slavic Booklore: Unity and Diversity”, dedicated to the Day of Orthodox Book and to the 1000th anniversary of repose of Prince Vladimir, which was attended by Metropolitan Kliment of Kaluga and Borovsk. On March 12, at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior there was held a meeting of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia with young participants of the conference, students of military boarding schools of Moscow and many fans of the book. The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church corresponded to the congregation the Pastoral discourse, stressing that the Day of Orthodox Book, being governmentally celebrated each year, has acquired a deep historical understanding: “Books... convey to us information from the past, they are the carriers of some kind of heredity. ... In the best books this code is depicted, and one of such books is „Apostle“”. The conference was the first international youth event of the jubilee year, which, in accordance with the Order of the President of the Russian Federation “On the Events Dedicated to the Memory of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Great Prince Vladimir - Christianizer of Russia”, will be held under the sign of the Holy Prince Vladimir

Get PDFProblems of literacy, correctness of speech, correction of errors in printed editions, which rose a hundred years ago, are relevant today. For the first time there are examined the textbooks published for students and professionals in book printing. The main substantive aspects of the article are the role and importance of these textbooks. At the turn of XIX-XX centuries in St. Petersburg there were several schools of book printing, where in the classroom the students got acquainted with the basic techniques of typesetting works. There was a need of publishing the special literature. The authors of textbooks have become school teachers. The article analyzes the following editions: R. Nippert «ABC Books of Eastern and Western Languages» (SPb., 1859), A.Serkov «Quick Start Guide for Compositors of Typographic Art» (St. Petersburg., 1861), G. Kerbach «Slavic Alphabet» (SPb., 1894), G. Schroeder «On the History of Alphabets» (SPb., 1896). Publications on the history of alphabets made an enormous contribution to the expansion of knowledge on book printing in Russia and formed the basis for the subsequently developed special educational literature on the art of typesetting, book printing and decorating books.Вопросы повышения грамотности, правильности речи, ошибок в печатных изданиях, которые поднимались сто лет назад, актуальны и в наше время. Впервые исследуются учебные пособия, изданные для учеников и специалистов книжного дела. На рубеже ХIХ-ХХ вв. в Санкт-Петербурге возникло несколько школ печатного дела, где на занятиях ученики знакомились с основными приeмами наборных работ. Появилась необходимость выпуска специальной литературы, авторами которой стали преподаватели школ. В статье анализируются издания: Нипперт Р.Ф. Азбуки восточных и западных языков (СПб., 1859); Серков А.Н. Краткое руководство для наборщиков типографского искусства (СПб., 1861); Г.Ф. Кербах. Славянская азбука (СПб., 1894); Г.Ф. Шредер. К истории развития алфавитов (СПб., 1896). Издания по истории алфавитов внесли огромный вклад в распространение знаний по типографскому делу в России и легли в основу последующей специальной учебной литературы по наборному искусству, печатному делу, художественному оформлению книг

It’s about the fact that in Samara, as in any other place in Russia, there is a lot of writing and reading people. Among them, there are a number of people creating interesting literary projects, because people, having serious and great interest in literature, sooner or later, reach the others, the same, and as a result, many people know many, and if you take the chain, our city is a big literary environment. Thanks to it, there appeared Samara Literary Festival, a new project that generates interest to the books and reading.В Самаре есть литература, литераторы и активные читатели. Речь не только и не столько о библиотеках, полках книжных магазинов и профессиональных литературоведах, не о нашумевшем приезде Фредерика Бегбедера или относительно регулярных визитах столичных поэтов. Речь о том, что в Самаре, как и в любой другой точке России, много пишущих и читающих. Среди них существует определенное число людей, создающих интересные литературные проекты, потому как человек, всерьез увлекшийся литературой, рано или поздно выходит на других, таких же, - в итоге многие знают многих, а если брать по цепочке, наш город - большая литературная среда. Благодаря ей и появился Самарский литературный фестиваль - новый проект, вызывающий интерес к книге и чтению

Get PDFThere is discussed the change of the pattern of reading due to transition from the model of “Education in early life” to the model “Education throughout life”. Fractional education modifies the curriculum, what leads to the imbalance of reading roles. Thus, classic literature, which is the custodian of cultural and moral values of society, occurs on the fringes of education. Pupils and students are barely acquainted with the modern literature, which is necessary not only for socialization of individual, but also for the formation of such mental action as inference. Purposeful training to reading strategies in the classroom at all subjects makes the process more efficient and frees up time for the accompanying study of the subject of reading. The model of “Reading throughout life” is complemented by “Reading in all spheres of life” model; it is assumed acquaintance with the texts of different genres, styles, types, and kinds. Reading of girls and boys is different. The article provides examples from studies of the Russian Association of Reading, as well as practical recommendations on organization of reading of boys using the materials of Russian and foreign studies

Get PDFImplementation of the project on semantic integration of bibliographic records has allowed to solve urgent problems: there is developed domain ontology and created modules of interaction with a variety of automated library information systems; bibliographic records converted from different formats into RDF, enriched using the information obtained from different sources, and released in accordance with the principles of Linked Open Data. Hand-ling one of the world’s largest arrays of bibliographic records required utilization of highly specialized protocols of access to information, high-performance processing algorithms and scalable storage solutions.Реализация проекта по семантической интеграции библиографических записей позволила решить актуальные задачи: разработана онтология предметной области, созданы модули взаимодействия с различными автоматизированными библиотечными информационными системами, библиографические записи сконвертированы из различных форматов в RDF, обогащены за счет информации, полученной из разных источников, и опубликованы в соответствии с принципами Linked Open Data. Оперирование одним из самых крупных в мире массивов библиографических записей потребовало использовать узкоспециализированные протоколы доступа к информации, высокопроизводительные алгоритмы обработки и масштабируемые решения хранения данных

Get PDFIn January 2015, an exhibition titled “Musician and Poet Needs Listeners, Readers” dedicated to the 220th anniversary of Alexander Sergeyevich Griboyedov (1795-1829) took place in the reading hall of the Manuscript Department of the Russian State Library. A lot of original documents from the collections of manuscripts relating to the life and work of a brilliant playwright, diplomat, poet and composer were displayed in this small exhibition. In addition to autographs and other documents from the archive of the writer (Fond 451) the numerous copies of his famous “The Woes of Wit” are of great interest as well. The exhibition is designed not only to show the most valuable materials, but also to convey as far as possible the atmosphere where Griboyedov lived and worked, to emphasize the charm of this outstanding personality in the history of the Russian literature.6-31 января 2015 г. в читальном зале НИО рукописей Российской государственной библиотеки состоялась выставка «Музыканту и поэту нужны слушатели, читатели. К 220-летию со дня рождения А. С. Грибоедова». В небольшой экспозиции были представлены подлинные документы, связанные с жизнью и творчеством блистательного драматурга, дипломата, поэта и композитора. Помимо автографов и других документов из архива писателя (ф. 451), большой интерес вызвали многочисленные списки «Горя от ума», представляющие обширный материал для исследования бытования комедии в России на протяжении всего XIX века
