Get PDFThe article investigates an important stage in the development of Azerbaijan bibliography at the end of XIX - the beginning of XX century. It was a period of rapid development of book publishing, periodicals issuing, development of scientific and professional societies in Azerbaijan. All that processes were accompanied by the development of bibliographic activities. In the latter half of the XIX century there took place intensive accumulation of Oriental manuscripts and printed sources in the Russian cultural centers, particularly in St. Peterburg, Moscow and Kazan. A lot of valuable culture and art objects came to Russia from Azerbaijan. Despite the significant advance in the development of bibliographic resources of Azerbaijan, the work on their formation did not become a systematic activity. It was caused primarily by the lack of state policy in that area. There was also lack of the potential personnel, engaged in library and bibliografic activities at the professional level.Статья посвящена исследованию важного этапа развития азербайджанской библиографии в конце XIX - начале XX века. В этот период в Азербайджане бурно развивается книгоиздательское дело, увеличивается выпуск периодических изданий, растет число научных и профессиональных обществ. Все это сопровождалось развитием библиографической деятельности. Во второй половине XIX в. происходит интенсивное накопление восточных рукописных и печатных источников в российских культурных центрах, прежде всего в Санкт-Петербурге, Москве и Казани. В рассматриваемый период, несмотря на значительные сдвиги в развитии библиотечно-библиографических ресурсов Азербайджана, работа по их формированию не превратилась в системную деятельность. Это было связано, в первую очередь, с отсутствием государственной политики в данной области, также не было кадров, занимавшихся библиотечно-библиографической деятельностью на профессиональном уровне

Get PDFThe article is dedicated to Pavel Alexandrovich Schillingovsky (1881-1942), the outstanding Russian artist and teacher of the first half of XX century, Professor at the Leningrad Academy of Arts, who did not want to leave the city during the siege of 1942 and joined the fate of many of his compatriots. There are discussed all areas of the comprehensive selfless activities and milestones of the life and career of the talented master of fine arts and a wonderful teacher. Special attention is paid to him as a master of book art and art of bookplate. There is a detailed description of his innovative design of two-volume edition "The Russian Fairy Tale" and the legendary epics of Homer "Odyssey".Статья посвящена выдающемуся русскому художнику и педагогу первой половины ХХ в., профессору Ленинградской академии художеств Павлу Александровичу Шиллинговскому (1881-1942), не пожелавшему покинуть свой город в дни блокады и разделившему в 1942 г. участь многих соотечественников. Рассматриваются все сферы многогранной подвижнической деятельности и основные вехи жизненного и творческого пути талантливого мастера изобразительного искусства и замечательного педагога. Большое внимание уделено творчеству художника книги и мастера искусства экслибриса. Подробно рассказано о новаторском оформлении П.А. Шиллинговским двухтомника «Русская сказка» и легендарного эпоса Гомера «Одиссея»

Get PDFThere are considered the issues of necessity, possibility and intent to promote the reading, which is driven by the decrease of educational level of young people, by transition to a new model of learning and dissemination of screen reading. The practice of using screen reading, which became equal to “revolution” in the world of reading, is connected with two current theories of reading - factor and deictic.The new European project for additional training of subject teachers in the field of literacy strategies in reading the domain-specific texts is one of the ways of the improving the quality of reading and literacy of pupils of se-condary schools. The results of research performed by the members of the Reading Association of Russia, describe the modern readers of different ages with respect to their gender characteristics and readers’ preferences, including reading and screen reading, as well as present the visual metaphor «Readers’2013». The findings indicate the importance of using the screen reading to promote reading among youth, especially among students
