Становление библиотечной системы Индии (XIX-XX вв.)
Get PDFThis article is devoted to the formation and development of system of public libraries in India and their place in the educational, social, cultural and informational space of the country. The formation of the library system in India occurred during the complex colonial and post-colonial periods of its history. It took place in the conditions of underdevelopment, the uneven social, political and cultural development of the regions, ethnolinguistic disunity, and mass illiteracy of the population, dominating in the society of caste, religious and gender prejudices. The article demonstrates that public libraries in India, beginning with their appearance in the first half of the 19th century, had a special mission. They were considered not only as repositories of books, but, first of all, as centers of education, aimed to spread the knowledge, fight with ignorance by introducing to the reading, to raise the cultural and intellectual level of Indian society, thereby contributing to its prosperity. The article describes the main stages and directions of state policy of India in the field of librarianship from the early nineteenth to the late twentieth century, recounts the history of the founding of the National library, emphasized the role of Raja Rammohan Roy Library Foundation. In separate section there is considered the contribution to the library and information science of S.R. Ranganathan, the outstanding leader of Indian culture

Get PDFThe personal record of the Member of the Saratov scientific archival Commission Elpidifor Ivanovich Arkadyev (1856-1917) - the prominent provincial bibliographer, bibliophile, bibliologist and journalist - was revealed in the Document collection of the Saratov Regional Museum of Local Lore. The overview of these materials containing the new facts about life and activities of the scientist is provided in the article. The autobiography which is accompanied by the complete list of his works (books, articles, notes, reviews) is of special value, including earlier materials, previously unknown to specialists. The documents disclose the addresses, where E.I. Arkadyev resided in Saratov, and allow to trace the fate of his last book collection. These materials give grounds to assert that the books collected by bibliophile by subscription in 1906 had been transferred to the Central Local Library, but not to Syzran City Public Library, as it was believed earlier. The typewritten obituary, preserved in the personal record papers, clarifies the tragic destiny of E.I. Arkadyev who was murdered by robbers in troubled days of December, 1917.В фонде «Документы» Саратовского областного музея краеведения выявлено личное дело члена Саратовской ученой архивной комиссии Елпидифора Ивановича Аркадьева (1856-1917) - крупнейшего провинциального библиографа, библиофила, книговеда и журналиста. В статье приводится обзор данных материалов, содержащих новые факты о жизни и деятельности ученого. Особую ценность представляет автобиография, которую сопровождает полный список его трудов (книг, статей, заметок, рецензий), в том числе - ранее не известных специалистам. Документы раскрывают адреса, по которым Е.И. Аркадьев проживал в Саратове, позволяют проследить судьбу его последней книжной коллекции. Материалы дают основания утверждать, что книги, собранные библиофилом по подписке в 1906 г., были переданы Центральной земской библиотеке, а не Сызранской городской публичной, как считалось ранее. Машинописный некролог, сохранившийся внутри дела, проясняет трагическую судьбу Е.И. Аркадьева, убитого грабителями в смутные декабрьские дни 1917 года
Модель организации практики студентов как инструмент повышения качества подготовки библиотечных кадров
Get PDFIn the conditions of educational system reforming the quality of education acquires particular importance. Search for the new tools and instruments for conformance to the modern requirements does not contradict with the usage and update of the traditional, proven by years forms of education. The article considers the process of organization of students’ practical training and reveals its significance in developing professional competence of future professionals and establishing partnership of University with employers. There is marked interest to professional interaction from both sides: University leadership and management of the libraries. There is made conclusion on poor development of mechanisms of this interaction. There is also characterized the role of student who is able to participate in shaping his educational path; identified and described the legislative and regulatory basis of the process. Using the example of St. Petersburg there is considered the potential capacity of organizations able to act as coordinators and partners of the University in the process of organization and management of practical training. There is considered and proposed for use the “Model” of organization of practical training, where each block correlates with the specific features of educational process in the particular University.В условиях реформирования системы образования особое значение приобретает его качество. Поиск новых инструментов и механизмов соответствия современным требованиям нисколько не противоречит использованию и актуализации традиционных и годами испытанных форм обучения. В статье рассматривается процесс организации практики студентов, раскрывается ее значимость для формирования профессиональных компетенций будущих специалистов и установления партнерских отношений вуза с работодателями. Отмечается заинтересованность в профессиональном взаимодействии со стороны как руководства вуза, так и руководства библиотек. Делается вывод о слабой разработанности механизмов этого взаимодействия. Охарактеризована роль студента, который способен участвовать в формировании своей образовательной траектории; определена и описана нормативно-пра вовая база процесса. Рассмотрен потенциал санкт-петербургских организаций, способных выступить координаторами и партнерами вуза в процессе организации практики. Предлагается к использованию модель организации практики, каждый блок которой соотнесен с особенностями образовательного процесса в конкретном вузе

Get PDFThe article discusses the characteristic features of the manuscripts - monuments of the Old Russian bibliography - indexes of texts for canonical worship readings, composed in the largest old Russian book center - the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery in the second half of 16th - first half of 17th century. Unlike analogous monuments of the Old Russian monastic literature created in other monasteries, indexes from St. Kirill’s monastery are known in more than ten copies. The author studied manuscripts of Kirillo-Belozerskoe, Sofiiskoe and Main Collections in the Manuscript Department of the National Library of Russia, including manuscripts introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. The author specifies different versions of these indexes in the manuscript collections of the 16th-17th centuries, and concludes, that there were no less than three different versions of indexes in monastery, and they have been created during approximately one century (starting from 1560s). The tradition of compiling indexes in St. Kirill Belozersky cloister is different, when comparing with indexes from Spaso-Prilutzky, St. Iosif Volokolamsky and St. Antony Siysky monasteries.В статье рассматриваются особенности рукописной традиции памятника древнерусской библиографии - указателей уставных чтений, составленных в крупнейшем древнерусском книжном центре, - Кирилло-Белозерском монастыре - во второй половине XVI - первой половине XVII века. Указатели из Кирилловского монастыря сохранились, в отличие от аналогичных памятников древнерусской монастырской книжности, в большом количестве списков. Автором изучены рукописи Кирилло-Белозерского, Софийского собрания и основного собрания отдела рукописей Российской национальной библиотеки (РНБ), в том числе впервые вводимые в научный оборот. Выделены отдельные редакции памятника и подробно перечислены особенности редакций указателей чтений. В работе сделан вывод о том, что в Кирилло-Белозерском монастыре, начиная с 1560-х гг., на протяжении столетия было создано по меньшей мере три редакции указателя/указца чтений. Проводится сравнение традиции составления указателей в Кирилло-Белозерском, Спасо-Прилуцком, Иосифо-Волоколамском Успенском и Антониево-Сийском монастырях

Get PDFThe largest part of the private library of Simon Azaryin, prominent church writer of the 17th century, is kept in the Manuscript Department of the Russian State Library. There are two manuscripts (F. 173. Collection of the Moscow Theological Academy) which include Menologies compiled by Simon. Both MDA books are collections of writings and extracts of Saints’ Lives, chronicles, etc, and there is a Menology with memories of only the Russian Saints. Simon Azaryin’s Menologies is the prominent monument of the time of “Collecting the Russian Sainthood”. The list of Saints in Simon’s Menologies includes a part organized in calendar order and a part with the data on Saints, for whom the date of memory is unknown. The Menologies contain several rare and unique memories. Data on disciples of St. Sergius of Radonezh texture a separate part of the Menology (for some of them it is a unique, and, possibly, legendary evidence).Рукописные фонды Российской государственной библиотеки (РГБ) хранят большую часть библиотеки известного книжника XVII в. Симона Азарьина. Составленные им святцы сохранились в двух рукописях из этой библиотеки (ОР РГБ. Ф. 173. Собрание Московской духовной академии). Обе рукописи представляют собой авторские сборники и включают, в частности, выписки из житий, летописей, святцы, содержащие исключительно дни памяти русских святых. Святцы Симона Азарьина являются замечательным памятником эпохи «собирания русской святости». Перечень святых поделен на две части: собственно календарную и ту, где приводятся дни памяти святых, празднования которых были неизвестны составителю месяцеслова. В святцах имеется ряд редких, а также уникальных дней памяти. Особо отмечены ученики Сергия Радонежского (известие святцев Симона Азарьина, называющих учениками преподобного некоторых основателей монастырей, является уникальным и, возможно, легендарным)

Get PDFThe article reviewed the results of the leading professional events in the field of information and library area - the Annual Integration Forum and the 7th Research and Practical Conference “Cultural Heritage: Resources Integration in the Digital Environment” (October 5-6, 2016), led by the main organizer - the Presidential Library. The relevance of the subject is determined by switchover of the institutions to the mass-scale formation of electronic libraries and digital collections, what requires the development and implementation of new scientific and methodological approaches to the work with information resources. An important factor is also unified, clearly understood by all information technology agenda, focused at the achievement of compatibility at the level of standards, formats and software. The results of scientific research and already implemented projects, and practical studies were presented in 60 reports of the conference participants. Among the main discussed issues are: integration of the resources of libraries, archives and museums; interaction of cultural institutions in the process of building the content of the National Electronic Library; methodology of formation of digital collections of the Presidential Library.В статье представлены результаты ведущих профессиональных мероприятий в области информационно-библиотечной сферы, а именно Ежегодного интеграционного форума и VII Научно-практической конференции «Культурное наследие: интеграция ресурсов в цифровом пространстве» (Санкт-Петербург, 5-6 октября 2016 г.), основным организатором которых является Президентская библиотека им. Б.Н. Ельцина. Актуальность тематики определяется переходом учреждений к массовому созданию электронных библиотек и цифровых коллекций, что требует выработки и реализации новых научно-методологических подходов работы с информационными ресурсами. Важным фактором также является единая, однозначно понимаемая всеми информационно-технологическая политика, ориентированная на достижение совместимости на уровне стандартов, форматов и программного обеспечения. Результаты научных исследований и уже реализованных проектов, практические разработки были представлены в 60 докладах участников конференции. Основными обсуждаемыми проблемами стали - интеграция ресурсов библиотек, архивов и музеев; взаимодействие учреждений культуры в процессе формирования контента Национальной электронной библиотеки; методология формирования цифровых коллекций Президентской библиотеки им. Б.Н. Ельцина

Get PDFOn 6-7 October, 2016 at the Chelyabinsk Regional Universal Scientific Library took place the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference “Morgenstern Readings - 2016. Libraries of Regions in the Digital Era: Management, Resources, Technology”. The conference was held at the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Russian Library Association, the Ministry of Culture of the Chelyabinsk Region, and the Chelyabinsk State Institute of Culture. The All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference is named in honor of the outstanding scientist-biblio-grapher, Doctor of pedagogical sciences, Professor Isaac Grigorievich Morgenstern (1932-2008), who devoted his life to various aspects of the theory and practice of bibliography, librarianship, bibliology and social informatics. The conference was attended by 140 people - among them are the prominent Russian scientists in the field of library science and bibliography, leading experts and directors of the central, regional and municipal libraries, workers of library and information education, young library professionals and postgraduate students. The geography of participants was wide: from the Central Russia to Western Siberia, from St. Petersburg to Kemerovo. The Conference program included the plenary session, work of 3 Sections (“Innovative technologies of information and bibliographic user’s service as a factor in the development of the library”; “Reference and search tools of the library: new format”; “Problems of training, advanced training and retraining of library staff: the content of courses, quality of training and connection with practice”), the Round table “Morgenstern School: Remembering the Teacher...” and the tour in the Reading room named after I.G. Morgenstern. In total, there were presented 42 reports, including 7 poster presentations.6-7 октября 2016 г. в Челябинской областной универсальной научной библиотеке состоялась Всероссийская научно-практическая конференция «Моргенштерновские чтения - 2016. Библио-теки регионов в цифровую эпоху: управление, ресурсы, технологии». Конференция проходила при поддержке Министерства культуры Российской Федерации, Российской библиотечной ассоциации, Министерства культуры Челябинской области, Челябинского государственного института культуры. Она названа в честь выдающегося библиографоведа, доктора педагогических наук, профессора Исаака Григорьевича Моргенштерна (1932-2008), посвятившего свою жизнь различным аспектам теории и практики библиографии, библиотечного дела, книговедения и социальной информатики. В конференции участвовало 140 человек - видные российские ученые в области библиотечного и книжного дела, библиографии, ведущие специалисты, руководители центральных региональных и муниципальных библиотек, работники библиотечно-информационного образования, молодые сотрудники, аспиранты. There are listed the largest public libraries - the national depository centres, receiving legal deposit, as well as libraries, administered by the Ministry of Culture of India. There is considered in detail the history, current status and work plans of the National Library of India in Kolkata, celebrating its 175th anniversary in 2016. There is characterized the structure of the network of public libraries of India at present, based on hierarchical model: state - district - block - village/panchayat. There is presented implementation of the project of Digital Library of India. There is described the plan of “The National Mission on Libraries”, approved by the President of India for modernization of the library system of the country, designed for 2015-2017 and aimed at formation of the integrated library information space, as well as its main components: creation of the National Virtual Library of India; development of network of model libraries; elaboration of the new standards.В статье рассматривается государственная политика Индии, направленная на повышение роли библиотек как центров просвещения, информации и самообразования. Перечислены крупнейшие публичные библиотеки - национальные депозитарные центры, получающие обязательный экземпляр, а также библиотеки, находящиеся в ведении Министерства культуры Индии. Подробно рассмотрены история, современное состояние и планы работы Национальной библиотеки Индии в Колкате, отмечающей 175-летие в 2016 году. Характеризуется структура сети публичных библиотек страны на современном этапе, основанная на иерархической модели: штат - округ - блок - деревня/панчаят. Освещена реализация проекта Цифровой библиотеки Индии.
