Winston, stumble upon her horribly disfigured body hiding in the woods. Where did she come
from, they ask themselves. Does she want to eat us?
All Mary Swansburg really wants, however, is to feel beautiful again

Understanding Ethics in Public Relations: Essentials for a Graduating Public Relations Major
This thesis project is a collection of public relations research and materials focused on guiding recently graduated public relations majors through some of the ethical dilemmas of the public relations career. A hypothetical scenario depicting a client and public relations practitioner in conflict encourages the readers to place themselves in a public relations dilemma. Knowing what one should do does not always determine what one actually does. The thesis explores The Public Relations Code of Ethics as it applies to agency public relation professionals. Public relations methods are presented to give graduates a better understanding of options in their decision-making and advising process. The advice comes from interviews with public relations professionals and cases studies of well-known public relations challenges such as; Tylenol, Pepsi, Toyota, Union Carbide and BP. The case studies show the numerous options for handling a crisis
Pre-established Conflict Strategy Defines PR Success
This public relations guide is centered on the fact that CEOs are increasingly beginning to realize the need to make crisis management a top priority and that PR staff must be relied upon to fulfill this crucial function. In order to succeed, PR staff must now be well equipped to develop, implement, manage and evaluate crisis strategies in order to reduce permanent reputation harm. This instructional guide provides an informative tool for those looking to advance in the PR field, giving the essential knowledge needed to prevent as well as successfully handle the occurrence of crisis with the smallest amount of reputation injury through understanding the types of communication required, the variety of approaches to choose from and the many different phases of the process
Storage Kids
"Storage Kids" is a short story about Abby, a twelve-year-old girl with no memory who wakes up trapped in a white room with only a bed to sleep in and a tray of food to eat from. She must learn who she is, where she is, what she is doing there, and how to get out. With the help of Don, a worker at the facility, she'll fight for the answers and a way out
Kill 'Em Dead
This thesis is parts of a larger work tentatively titled "Kill 'Em Dead". In this work the protagonist is a zombie in an unnamed technological wasteland. Hi mimics the detectives and cowboys. They are both in a fugue state with a vague sense of duty. The protagonist is in denial of himself and the world and lives on only by proving he is a good man, whatever that may happen to mean at the time. I plan to stitch and weave all these passages into a larger narrative with a whip-crack speed and many mini and micro-chapters. The end result is supposed to feel like a surrealistic western in a destroyed future
Re:Gen
"Re: Gen" is a science fiction story set in the distant future. It revolves around a sixteen year old High School student named Arlen and his younger sister, Centara. Arlen has longed to get away from the Moon colony where they live. However, when he and his sister finally get the chance, word reaches them that the mysterious Enigma Corporation is planning a devastating "project" that will endanger their entire colony, and the kids only have a few days to stop it
Song for Sunrise
This thesis contains the first 12 chapters and synopsis of a novella. Song for Sunrise is set in the dreams of Lucille, a college student who falls into a coma after a failed attempt at suicide. Lucille accidentally struck her younger neighborhood friend, Dawn in an auto accident. Lucille's guilt is amplified when the community and Dawn's parents sympathize with her rather than condemning her. After three years, the plug to Lucille's life support system is pulled, and her brain becomes slightly active as she dies. She dreams up a world of vibrant environments during her final moments. Dawn comes back to life within the dreams as a way for Lucille to cope with the trauma and organize all the emotions involved with losing a loved one

Each section includes a glossary at the end for further explanations
THE EFFECTS OF ONLINE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN TECHNOLOGY WITH VIRTUAL COMMUNITIES OF PRACTICE ON TEACHERS’ ATTITUDES AND CONTENT INTEGRATION
This quasi-experimental study examined the effects of online professional development in technology with Virtual Communities of Practice (VCoP) on teachers' attitudes and content integration. This research study took place completely online. Over a period of nine months three cohorts of educators from diverse backgrounds and geographical locations took part in a six week course of online professional development using resources designed by the researcher. The comparison group in each of the three cohorts accessed content via a course website and corresponded with the researcher only. The treatment group in each of the three cohorts accessed content via a course wiki and corresponded with the researcher and with each other as members of a VCoP. Both groups received the same professional development content. Three instruments were used for data collection online: A researcher designed Demographic Survey, the Teachers' Attitudes Toward Computers (TAC) and the Levels of Teaching Innovation (LoTi), including Computers for Instructional Purposes (CIP) and Personal Computer Use (PCU) subscales. Informal learning, knowledge sharing, and creation are critical if teachers are to practice life-long learning. As technology develops and budgets shrink, the potential for free and low cost professional development with flexible access and just-in-time availability should be investigated. This study proposed to extend knowledge on Virtual Communities of Practice as potential resources for the pursuit of sustained informal professional development to support teaching and learning practices in the context of curriculum and a supportive environment. Findings indicated that teachers' attitudes toward computers on the subscale of interest could be predicted by technology professional development coursework. Professional development in technology with VCoP and without VCoP were determined to be of equal value. Teachers who received professional development online with Virtual Communities of Practice demonstrated the highest level of technology integration with classroom practices.Doctor of Education (EdD)Education & Educational Psycholog
