Además, se dan nuevas noticias sobre el padre de la autora y su linaje, obtenidas a partir del expediente de acceso a la Orden de Santiago.In this work, María de Zayas’ paternal family is analyzed and conclusions about the family and social environment of the writer and her parents are established.     Concept maps and obliteration in bilinguals

    This study examines the effectiveness of concept maps in promoting long-term memory among Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) students. It focuses on the accuracy of content transmission and the acquisition of meaningful learning in bilingual education by connecting new and carefully organized information to students’ prior knowledge. Thus, the research assesses the use of concept maps as instructional tools in foreign language (L2) settings, addressing a lack of evidence regarding their effectiveness. It also considers how concept mapping affects long-term memory through factors such as perception, processing, cognition, and transfer. The study examines how bilingualism, bilingual education, and curricular content influence instructional design when using concept maps. The study involved 60 Spanish primary education students attending a semi-public bilingual school. The research results aim to contribute to the development of effective teaching strategies and instructional design in CLIL classrooms, ultimately enhancing students’ long-term memory and learning outcomes.peerReviewe

    Digital competence of teachers in the educational context: an analysis of their ability to integrate digital technologies effectively

    La adquisición de competencias digitales por parte de los docentes constituye un elemento crucial en el contexto educativo actual, donde la tecnología desempeña un papel fundamental. Los progresos constantes en el ámbito tecnológico han transformado los enfoques educativos, lo que requiere que los docentes estén adecuadamente capacitados para integrar estas herramientas de manera efectiva en su labor pedagógica. Diversas estrategias y programas, tanto a nivel nacional como internacional, han sido desarrollados con el propósito de fortalecer las competencias digitales entre la población. Esta investigación se fundamenta en los datos obtenidos mediante la aplicación del cuestionario Selfie for teachers en 209 centros educativos ubicados en Extremadura. Su propósito principal es conocer en qué medida el profesorado maneja con seguridad las tecnologías. Los resultados revelan que una parte significativa de los docentes emplea principalmente las tecnologías para comunicarse con las familias y para preparar sus clases. Aunque los profesionales del ámbito educativo expresan interés en integrar recursos tecnológicos como herramientas pedagógicas, enfrentan dificultades al intentar utilizar eficazmente los dispositivos disponibles en sus propias instituciones educativas. Destacan que el principal obstáculo no radica en la comprensión técnica de la tecnología en sí, sino en su integración efectiva en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje. Solo un 37% de los encuestados considera que posee la capacitación necesaria para manejar de manera segura las tecnologías tanto para impartir clases como para brindar retroalimentación y apoyo. Esto resalta la existencia de una brecha entre el conocimiento técnico de la tecnología y su aplicación práctica en el contexto educativo.The acquisition of digital competencies by teachers constitutes a crucial element in the current educational context, where technology plays a fundamental role. Constant progress in the technological field has transformed educational approaches, requiring teachers to be adequately trained to effectively integrate these tools into their pedagogical work. Various strategies and programs, both at national and international levels, have been developed with the purpose of strengthening digital competencies among the population. This research is based on data obtained through the application of the "Selfie for Teachers" questionnaire in 209 educational centers located in Extremadura. Its main purpose is to assess the extent to which teachers handle technology securely. The results reveal that a significant portion of teachers primarily use technology to communicate with families and prepare their classes. Although professionals in the educational field express interest in integrating technological resources as pedagogical tools, they face difficulties when trying to effectively use the devices available in their own educational institutions. They emphasize that the main obstacle lies not in the technical understanding of technology itself, but in its effective integration into the teaching and learning process. Only 37% of respondents consider themselves adequately trained to securely handle technology for both teaching and providing feedback and support. This highlights the existence of a gap between technical knowledge of technology and its practical application in the educational context

    El presente artículo se plantea como una propedéutica al estudio del cómic ensayo o ensayo gráfico, desde su nacimiento con autoconsciencia hasta la actualidad. Con la voluntad de trazar una genealogía de obras significativas, el artículo incide en aquellos aspectos formales relacionados con estrategias de montaje que resultan relevantes en la forma-ensayo a partir de desarrollos de investigación en el campo del cine. Además, y de manera central, se propone una metodología, basada sobre todo en la iconología de Aby Warburg para el estudio del ensayo como fórmula didáctica y de transmisión de la tradición en el contexto de las formas de no ficción en el cómic.This paper serves as an introduction to the study of the graphic essay or comic essay, tracing its evolution from its self-aware inception to the present day. With the intention of establishing a genealogy of significant works, the article emphasizes formal aspects related to montage strategies that are relevant to the essay form, drawing from research developments in the field of cinema. Furthermore, at its core, it proposes a methodology primarily based on Aby Warburg's iconology for the examination of the essay as a didactic formula and a means of transmitting tradition within the context of non-fiction forms in comics.peerReviewe

    Evaluating spatial accessibility to high-tech health services in the Spanish Iberian Peninsula: a GIS-based analysis

    Este estudio explora la accesibilidad espacial a los servicios sanitarios de alta tecnología en los municipios de la península Ibérica, centrándose en la adecuación de la prestación de servicios por parte de las instalaciones de hemodinámica en relación con la demanda potencial. Se realizó un análisis exhaustivo utilizando un Sistema de Información Geográfica (SIG) para evaluar la distribución espacial de los servicios sanitarios de alta tecnología, empleando el método de área de captación flotante de dos pasos mejorada (E2SFCA) dentro de un marco de modelo gravitacional. Los hallazgos revelan una disparidad en la cobertura de los servicios sanitarios, ya que los municipios periféricos de las comunidades autónomas más grandes muestran un acceso bajo o muy bajo a los servicios sanitarios de alta tecnología. A pesar de esto, la mayoría de la población se beneficia de una cobertura sanitaria satisfactoria. El estudio subraya la importancia de mejorar la accesibilidad a los servicios sanitarios en áreas desatendidas mediante mejoras de infraestructura o el establecimiento de nuevas instalaciones, abogando por una distribución equitativa de los servicios sanitarios en línea con los principios de justicia social. La metodología propuesta en este documento sirve como una herramienta valiosa para los responsables de las políticas sanitarias a la hora de abordar las desigualdades espaciales en la prestación de servicios sanitarios. Desde la perspectiva de la accesibilidad territorial y la planificación espacial, la investigación destaca el papel fundamental de la infraestructura sanitaria de alta tecnología para garantizar una cobertura sanitaria integral. Los resultados abogan por intervenciones específicas para mejorar la accesibilidad a los servicios sanitarios, en particular en zonas escasamente pobladas en la periferia de grandes comunidades, contribuyendo así al discurso más amplio sobre la equidad sanitaria y la justicia espacial en la planificación de la atención sanitaria.This study explores the spatial accessibility of high-tech health services across municipalities on the Spanish Iberian Peninsula, focusing on the adequacy of service provision by haemodynamic facilities relative to potential demand. A comprehensive analysis utilising a Geographic Information System (GIS) was conducted to evaluate the spatial distribution of high-tech health services, employing the enhanced two-step floating catchment area (E2SFCA) method within a gravity model framework. Findings reveal a disparity in health service coverage, with peripheral municipalities in the larger Autonomous Communities exhibiting low to very low access to high-tech health services. Despite this, the majority of the population benefits from satisfactory health coverage. The study underscores the importance of improving health service accessibility in underserved areas through infrastructural enhancements or the establishment of new facilities, advocating for equitable health service distribution in line with principles of social justice. The methodology proposed herein serves as a valuable tool for health policymakers in addressing spatial inequities in health service provision. Through the lens of territorial accessibility and spatial planning, the research highlights the critical role of high-tech health infrastructure in ensuring comprehensive health coverage. The results advocate for targeted interventions to enhance health service accessibility, particularly in sparsely populated areas at the periphery of large communities, thereby contributing to the broader discourse on health equity and spatial justice in healthcare planning.peerReviewe

Es el título de un artículo, escrito en gallego, que me fue publicado en la revista A Trabe de Ouro a principios del nuevo milenio (Gargallo 2001); un escrito que se inspiraba en mi intervención oral del día 2 de junio de 2000 en la Casa da Cultura de Valverde del Fresno, de título «Aranés, mirandés: dos enclaves romances de frontera, dos modelos de normativización para la fala de los tres lugares», que presenté en el marco del seminario «A fala na escuela». Casi un cuarto de siglo después, vuelvo sobre esta idea de reflexionar, siquiera brevemente, sobre esos dos casos de normativización (ortográfica) operados en los enclaves romances de frontera del Valle de Arán y de la Tierra de Miranda.«Aranés, mirandés, ¿valego? Tres enclaves romances de fronteira, tres retos de supervivencia e preservación da identidade na Europa do novo mileno». It is the title of an article, written in Galician, that was published in the magazine A Trabe de Ouro at the beginning of the new millennium (Gargallo 2001); a writing that was inspired by my oral speech on June 2, 2000 at the Casa da Cultura de Valverde del Fresno, entitled «Aranés, mirandés: dos enclaves romances de frontera, dos modelos de normativización para la fala de los tres lugares», that I presented in the framework of the seminar «A fala na escuela».     Monográfico dedicado a : A Fala: Normativa y lengua estándarLas vocales en posición átona, especialmente e y o, presentan diferentes opciones de pronunciación en la fala. En este trabajo se estudian los condicionamientos fonéticos que determinan la pronunciación de estas vocales en lagarteiru. También se analizan otros casos que se explican por razones de carácter diacrónico. Finalmente, se comparan los resultados con el mañegu y se exponen los problemas que estas vocales plantean para la ortografía de la fala.In Fala, vowels in unstressed positions, especially e and o, exhibit various pronuncia tion options. In this study, the phonetic conditions that determine the pronunciation of these vowels in Lagarteiru are examined. Other cases explained by diachronic reasons are also analyzed. Finally, the results are compared with Mañegu, and the challenges that these vowels present for the spelling of Fala are discussed.peerReviewe

    Analyzing the Thermal Characteristics of Three Lining Materials for Plantar Orthotics

    El estudio evalúa la respuesta térmica de tres materiales utilizados en ortesis plantares, destacando que los materiales de PE con menor densidad generan menor sobre calentamiento y mayor confort térmico. El área del quinto metatarsiano mostró el mayor aumento de temperatura, lo que resalta la importancia de considerar estos factores en el diseño de plantillas para evitar incomodidades térmicas.Introduction: The choice of materials for covering plantar orthoses or wearable insoles is often based on their hardness, breathability, and moisture absorption capacity, although more due to professional preference than clear scientific criteria. An analysis of the thermal response to the use of these materials would provide information about their behavior; hence, the objective of this study was to assess the temperature of three lining materials with different characteristics. Materials and Methods: The temperature of three materials for covering plantar orthoses was analyzed in a sample of 36 subjects (15 men and 21 women, aged 24.6 ± 8.2 years, mass 67.1 ± 13.6 kg, and height 1.7 ± 0.09 m). Temperature was measured before and after 3 h of use in clinical activities, using a polyethylene foam copolymer (PE), ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), and PE-EVA copolymer foam insole with the use of a FLIR E60BX thermal camera. Results: In the PE copolymer (material 1), temperature increases between 1.07 and 1.85 °C were found after activity, with these differences being statistically significant in all regions of interest (p < 0.001), except for the first toe (0.36 °C, p = 0.170). In the EVA foam (material 2) and the expansive foam of the PE-EVA copolymer (material 3), the temperatures were also significantly higher in all analyzed areas (p < 0.001), ranging between 1.49 and 2.73 °C for EVA and 0.58 and 2.16 °C for PE-EVA. The PE copolymer experienced lower overall overheating, and the area of the fifth metatarsal head underwent the greatest temperature increase, regardless of the material analyzed. Conclusions: PE foam lining materials, with lower density or an open-cell structure, would be preferred for controlling temperature rise in the lining/footbed interface and providing better thermal comfort for users. The area of the first toe was found to be the least overheated, while the fifth metatarsal head increased the most in temperature. This should be considered in the design of new wearables to avoid excessive temperatures due to the lining materials.peerReviewe
