Significance and Problems in the "Open" System of Teacher Education (V) : Laying stress on a System to enter Teaching Profession
P(論文)At present, problens of teacher education have become a main theme in Japan. Because, naturally the role and position of teacher are important to education. Recently, there are many arguments about qualities and abilities of teachers, for many children who go to school have problems in Japan. Therefore, we want to get good teachers who have excellent qualities and the abilities to deal with these problems. If we can't get good teachers, it's impossible to solve problems in education. If we want to become a teacher, we have to take an examination to enter the teaching profession. I think that we have many problems in this examination system. For example, the content of the examination and the procedure and standard of selection are not sufficiently. The purpose of this paper is to clarify and analyze the consciousness of principals and school board members about this system. If we clarify and analyze their consciousness, we can get a key to reform the examination system for entering the teaching profession
A Study on the Kichisaburo Sasaki's Theory of Disciplin.
P(論文)In the third decade of the Meiji Era; The government tried to enrich moral education, but it produced no results. Because in those days, the class of ethics only explained the ethical virtues of the Imperial Rescript on Education, the class of ethics took the supplement of discipline very seriously. Mr. Sasaki took the discipline very seriously too. But, he thought that the discipline was more than a class to supplement ethics, so he gave the discipline educational value. His discipline consisted of three points. These are discipline of good habits, discipline of self government, the motto of "Koi-Koi". He thought the discipline of self government was a discipline of good habits. He valued children doing things on their own initiative, and believed that it made moral men, families, society and nations. His method of instruction was called the motto of "Koi-Koi", which means that a teacher serves as a good model for his pupils. Rather than just lecturing to them, he teaches them to follow his example. Through example, children are led to the point where they can do it themselves. Sasaki's theory of discipline was not compulsory, nor did it leave them totally unguided. It simply served to bridge the gap of moral education between the Meiji Era and the Taisho Era

P(論文)This paper indicates the value of sons and daughters from the parental view in Japan and Korea. The two countries are located near China and have historically shared Confucianism and other cultural influences. But Japan and Korea's cultural interpretation of these infuluences were very different from each other. These interpretations also influenced parents views of their children. For example: (1) sons in Korea are generally valued for carrying on the family line and for old age support; (2) sons in Japan are valued for personality characteristics which make them companions, especially for the father; (3) daughters in Korea and Japan share almost the same value for their personality characteristics which make them companions, especially for the mother
