Turn-taking rules in cooperative tasks conducted by college students
The development of turn-taking rules in cooperative tasks conducted by college students was examined. Female college students and adults participated in Experiment I. Participants conducted a cooperative task in pairs. Six paper cups and rubber bands with three strings attached were prepared. Participants were requested to pull the strings, and extend the rubber bands, pick up the paper cups using the rubber bands, and stack the six paper cups into three tiers. The following rule was analyzed; playing the role by holding one string and playing the role by holding two strings, in turn. Results indicated that participants could successfully perform the task and develop turn-taking rules for ensuring equality and executing the task well. In Experiment II, the number of paper cups and the difficulty level was increased. The results indicated that turn-taking rules were rarely developed. It is suggested that the difficulty level of the task affected the development of turn-taking rules
Analysis of Japan's Men's Water Polo Team's Performance at the 18th FINA World Championships
The purpose of this study was to analyze, via official data and released videos, the attack and defense tactics used by the strong teams and those used by Japanʼs team during the 18th FINA World Championships, which was played under new rules.
Total shots and goals increased, and games became more aggressive. Shots and goals from direct free throws decreased because the shot range was extended from 5 to 6 m, but shots and goals during extra-man situations increased because the attack time was shortened in the case of defense player exclusion.
The following are regarded as the causes for the Japanese team being defeated by the strong teams: shot success rate was low, even though the Japanese team had many extra-man situations, and the team committed many turnovers on offense
