Get PDFPPL Pennsylvania Power and Light Electric Utility Company is one of the largest power and light provider. PPL was found in 1920 and since then PPL has developed and extended its business over Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Great Britain. PPL performs planning and managing of several different Agile and Traditional projects. This paper will contain the information on PPL value services and challenges faced in developing traditional projects and agile projects. Pharmacotherapeutic Considerations for Individuals with Down Syndrome
Get PDFDown syndrome (DS; trisomy 21) is the most common survivable disorder due to aneuploidy. Individuals with DS may experience multiple comorbid health problems including congenital heart defects, endocrine abnormalities, skin and dental problems, seizure disorders, leukemia, dementia, and obesity. These associated conditions may necessitate pharmacotherapeutic management with various drugs. The complex pathobiology of DS may alter drug disposition and drug response in some individuals. For example, reports have documented increased rates of adverse drug reactions in patients with DS treated for leukemia and dementia. Intellectual disability resulting from DS may impact adherence to medication regimens. In this review, we highlight literature focused on pharmacotherapy for individuals with DS. We discuss reports of altered drug disposition or response in patients with DS and explore social factors that may impact medication adherence in the DS setting. Enhanced monitoring during drug therapy in individuals with DS is justified based on reports of altered drug disposition, drug response, and other characteristics present in this population
Improved Sprint Results with Offshore Indian Teams
Get PDFDue to the cultural and linguistic differences, different time zones, and complexities of knowledge transfer involved in IT offshoring, offshore-outsourced projects are more prone to failure than in-house and domestically outsourced projects. These inherent risks exacerbate the communication, coordination and collaboration between vendors and clients and thus affect various stages of the offshore outsourced software development (OSD).
Communication is a major factor of success or failure for any software project. In offshore software development OSD, communication is more critical than collocated software development. Frequent communication is not always possible due to challenges like time zone differences, holiday customs etc. where client and vendor working hours do not overlap. This communication problem affects the success of offshoring decision in terms of cost, schedule, time-to-market, client-vendor trust, and customer and business satisfaction. For successful software project offshoring, successful communication is necessary.
This paper provides a preliminary exploration for communication mode/mediums and challenges involved in OSD and how to have effective sprint planning sessions with the offshore teams in India. A classification is presented for offshore software development activities and the communication modes/mediums used to perform those activities

The purpose of this study is twofold. First, it is aimed to observe how business users manages the contents directly without depending on technical personnel. Secondly, what are their perceptions of using the system? Many industry people have voluntarily participated in this qualitative study. The data was gathered through server statistics, personal interviews, and an open-ended questionnaire. The analyses included descriptive statistics for quantitative and content analysis for the qualitative data. The findings indicate that participants embraced the notion of leveraging the potential of content management

A Different Approach to Project Management: The Use of Soft Skills
Get PDFThe term soft skills is traditionally used to describe interpersonal and subjective skills such as leadership, communication, and emotional intelligence. This paper addresses a further explanation of soft skills, their relation to project management, project management education, and the highlighted differences between a transactional leader and a transformational leader. Project management has often been defined as the making of schedules/tasks; but more importantly providing the inspiration, motivation, and facilitator of great minds to produce innovative ideas. Because of the sheer necessity for human interaction within the project management profession, soft skills are of crucial concern. Although mastering soft skills is a heavily weighted aspect of the profession, the current education of project managers is lacking the proper emphasis on soft skills. A further case study will be analyzed comparing three project managers and their skill sets based on objective and subjective evaluations of their hard and soft skills. Hypothesizing that the soft skills of the project managers will rate significantly higher than the objective evaluations of their hard skills. Proving that the currently education of only hard skills is not sufficient for successful project managers
Challenges When Using Scrum in Globally Distributed Teams

On that note, it is extremely vital to consider the challenging factors involved in agile practices such as scrum in GSD projects. However, the remarkable and effective attempts towards precisely identify, synthesize and report the literature on agile practices for GSD projects have always been inadequate (Hossain, AliBabar & Young Paik, 2009).
With the purpose of encouraging research committee to explore and analyze the projects that implements scrum process in globally distributed environment, the thesis paper places great emphasis on challenges involved with the implementation of agile methodologies with scrum framework in Global Software Development. In order to thoroughly understand these challenges, the thesis paper also addresses the core characteristics of a scrum team, benefits of scrum framework and the nature of Global Software Development projects.
Moreover, through the qualitative data collection approach the mythology section of this thesis will in designing the further sections of this thesis. In accordance with the selected data collection approach, the result section focuses on the communication challenges as well as gathers the bunch of information through the interviews of two professionals working in the scrum projects with GSD settings. Going forward, the discussion section talks about the lessons learned and solutions to alleviate the challenges associated with distributed scrum projects
