This study aims to analyze the concept of resurrection in Christian and Reform Judaism beliefs, emphasizing that resurrection is a manifestation of God's power over life and death. The study contrasts the Christian belief, which regards resurrection as an integral part of faith, with the Reform Judaism view, which generally rejects resurrection as a literal fact. Using the Historical-Critical interpretation method and a qualitative approach, this research analyzes Matthew 22:23-33 through inner-text and inter-text approaches to reveal its theological meaning and context. The findings show that resurrection is not merely a theological doctrine in the Christian faith, but also serves as evidence of God's power over life and death, aligning with the belief that those who die in faith in God will be resurrected. In conclusion, this research makes a significant contribution to the theological understanding of resurrection, highlights its distinction from Reform Judaism beliefs, and reinforces the role of resurrection as a key element in Christian faith

The Relationship between the Gospel and Culture: A Theological Analysis and Social Perspective in a Contemporary Context

In today's era of globalization and cultural pluralism, the relationship between the Gospel and culture has become an increasingly complex issue. Various theological perspectives have developed to understand how the message of the Gospel interacts with diverse cultural values and practices. The debate surrounding accommodation or resistance to local and global cultures requires a deeper examination within the context of Christian theology. This study aims to explore the relationship between the Gospel and culture from theological and social perspectives, as well as how this relationship influences the practice of Christian faith in contemporary multicultural and dynamic societies. The approach used in this research is qualitative theological analysis, with a literature review of contextual theology texts and cultural studies. The collected data were critically analyzed to identify patterns of interaction between the Gospel and culture in the modern social context. The research finds that the Gospel can interact with culture through a dialectical process involving acceptance, adaptation, and transformation of cultural values. In some cases, culture enriches religious practices, but in other situations, there are tensions that require deep theological reflection to ensure that Gospel values are not compromised by certain cultural practices. The relationship between the Gospel and culture is dynamic and contextual. It is important for Christian theology to develop a flexible approach while adhering to the core teachings of the Gospel in the face of cultural changes. In this way, the Gospel can remain relevant and significant in the lives of contemporary societies without losing its integrity

Alusi Anti-Imperial dalam Misi Universal: Elaborasi Matius 28:18-20

Matthew 28:18-20 is unique material from Matthew that is not found in other synoptic gospels. Considering the political situation under Roman imperialism and the initial recipients' Jewish background, it is worth asking how Matthew structured his unique material so that it was relevant to the conditions prevailing at that time. The purpose of this article is to prove that there are allusions to the Old Testament in Matthew 28:18-20 so that the intended use can be understood and fits the context. The methods used are structural analysis, style analysis, and allusion analysis. The results of the discussion prove that Matthew 28:18-20 contains allusions to Daniel 7:13-14 and Isaiah 7:14; 8:8,10 which is anti-imperial in nature so that recipients of Matthew's Gospel are given the basis and encouragement for courage in carrying out the Great Commission even in a situation of Roman imperialism

The book of James reveals three purposes of Christian’s tribulation. First, it comes from the present argument: let his endurance have a perfect result which is you become mature and complete, and lack of nothing (1:4). The second purpose derives from the future argument: blessed the one who endures in the tribulation. Because, after these things, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him (1:12). The last purpose uses the past argument: He gave us birth with his true word so that we might become the first fruit amongst his all creations. This article analyses the second and the last purpose through a syntactical analysis
