Certains ont adapté des logiciels commerciaux d’usage général (traitement de texte ou bases de données) alors que d’autres se sont tournés vers des logiciels payants spécialisés dans la gestion de bibliographies (EndNote, Procite, RefWorks). Full text linkApparently, your editors have been trying for the past few years to make the summer issue of the Bulletin shorter but with little success. This summer issue was no different. Once again plenty of relevant information, articles and notices kept coming in to fill the pages, et voila, we are back to our regular length. Over the next year, your editors will be trying to bring the Bulletin in line with the website, making it more visually similar and directing readers to the website when appropriate for more CHA news and information. For example: you want to write an article for the Bulletin but not sure if it’s appropriate? Well, consult the website where you will find what we seek from you – from length of article to acceptable photo formats. Our goal, along with that of Mark Humphries, our webmaster, is to increase our ability and that of members to communicate with the 1,200 plus members of the CHA.La chose la plus importante dans ce Bulletin, c’est peut-être cette nouvelle grille de tarifs qui vous est présentée à la page 25. C’est un grand changement pour la SHC, qui avait toujours basé le montant de la cotisation annuelle de ses membres sur leur statut: étudiant, professionnel, retraité, etc. À partir de maintenant, c’est le revenu qui sera plutôt pris en compte, comme c’est déjà le cas dans la plupart des organisations du genre. Cette nouvelle structure, plus équitable (pour de nombreux jeunes professionnels, entre autres, dont les revenus ne sont pas nécessairement beaucoup plus importants que ceux d’un étudiant), permettra en plus d’augmenter sensiblement les revenus de la SHC, qui se prépare à emménager dans de nouveaux locaux et, au début de la prochaine année, à réorganiser son bureau d’Ottawa. La nouvelle structure pour les cotisations anuelles a été approuvée avec grand enthousiasme par les membres présents à l’Assemblée générale, à Vancouver

Full text linkThe executive of the Graduate Students’ Committee welcomes three new members. Olivier Côté, having been elected Co-Chair in June of this year, now shares the reins of the GSC with Alison Norman, whose mandate will come to an end next year. Olivier is a doctoral candidate at Laval University, where he specialises in the study of identity representations in the mass media and works on dissertation centred on the television series Canada, A People’s History. Jess Durkin replaces Josh MacFadyen as treasurer. Jess is currently wrapping up her masters’ at Carleton, where she will begin doctoral studies in September
