    Vene emakeelega õppijate häälduskorpus

    No full text

Experience-based Analysis Method - the Evaluation data

    No full text
The dataset contains the data that were created to evaluate the Experience-based Analysis (EbA) method. The data is being made public to act as supplementary data for the EbA method evaluation. The EbA method has been evaluated by the industry-oriented research and development project Pharaon. The aim of the Pharaon is to develop an ecosystem of technological solutions to improve the quality of life of older adults and their caregivers. The Pharaon project consists of five large-scale case studies or pilots. For the evaluation the pilot from Andalusia in Spain was chosen as case study. Seven features were extracted from the case study. The data fail “Case Study Features_Preconditions_Value” presents all the seven features, incl. quality goals and emotional goals. The data file includes 48 preconditions found for these seven features and comparable example situations found for the preconditions. The data collection contains a second file, “Feature_example” where one of the seven features illustrates the analysis with validation inputs and findings, and suggested actions

Experimental unified pH scale in 1,2-dichloroethane

    No full text
Experimental potentiometric unified pH (pHabs) scale is presented in 1,2 dichloroethane (1,2-DCE). The scale was compiled using differential potentiometric measurements, carried out by pair-wise comparisons between solutions. Aqueous standard buffer solutions were used as anchor points, so that the obtained pH values are linked to (i.e. traceable to) the conventional aqueous pH scale and are expressed as pHabs(H2O) values. They are directly comparable to pH values in water in terms of the chemical potential of the solvated proton. The "ladder" approach was used for data analysis and pHabs(H2O) values were assigned to 19 solutions in 1,2-DCE, leading to a pHabs(H2O) scale spanning from −2.9 to 11.0. This is the first time that successful potentiometric pHabs(H2O) measurements have been carried out in a solvent of as low polarity as 1,2-DCE. The whole set of measurements, comprising a total of 85 ∆pHabs values, has a consistency standard deviation of 0.17 pH units. This is higher compared to the consistency standard deviations reported in the literature for similar measurements in other solvents and reflects the experimental difficulties with potentiometric measurements in a low-polarity solvent. This result means that potentiometric measurement of pHabs(H2O) values is possible in low-polarity solvents, and it is thus expected that potentiometric pHabs(H2O) measurement is possible in most organic solvents, opening the possibility of experimentally connecting many solvents into the unified pHabs(H2O) scale

Appendix 1. Dataset with thematic mapping and codes for the article 'Unearthing perspectives: exploring the views of heritage professionals and hobbyists on the current state of metal detecting in Estonia'

    No full text
This dataset contains a summary of the results of an online survey exploring the opinions of hobbyists and heritage professionals on the current state of metal detecting in Estonia. The survey was conducted between September and October 2023 and was completed by 22 archaeologists and 152 hobby metal detectorists. The dataset consists of an Excel file with seven sheets. Sheet 1 summarises the themes and codes that emerged from the data, together with their response rates by target group. Sheets 2-4 summarise the responses from heritage professionals (positive, negative and suggestions) and sheets 5-7 summarise the responses from metal detectorists (positive, negative and suggestions. The dataset is being made public to act as supplementary data (Appendix 1) for the publication Kurisoo & Smirnova in print

Ground-based precipitation radar data to study glaciation of supercooled liquid-water clouds downwind of anthropogenic air pollution hot spots

    No full text
Ground-based precipitation radar datasets (two sites in Canada) were used to study the glaciation of supercooled liquid-water clouds downwind anthropogenic air pollution sources. Weather radar data is from two radar sites: 1) Bethune, Saskatchewan, Canada; (lat/lon: 50.57123, -105.18285); dual-polarisation data since 09.08.2019 2) Landrienne, Québec, Canada; (lat/lon: 48.55135, -77.80808); dual-polarisation data since 31.10.201

Levodopa impairs lysosomal function in sensory neurons in vitro

Each worksheet corresponds to a figure or figure part. Please see name of worksheet.Parkinson’s disease (PD) is one of the most common chronic, degenerative brain diseases worldwide. Patients are diagnosed on the basis of slowness of movement and/or tremor and/or stiffness. However, many symptoms that are not movement related are now well recognized. Patients show changes in skin sensation, and the vast majority of patients show loss of sensory neurites, which enable sensation in skin. These changes in skin sensation occur prior to diagno-sis; however, sensory issues may also be exacerbated by levodopa, an important drug used in the treatment of PD. Undoubtedly, levodopa is critical for the treatment of PD, but at high doses, it has repeatedly been shown to impair sensation in PD patients. Here, we show for the first time that high-dose levodopa impairs function of sensory neurons. Importantly, we also show for the first time that lysosomes, a critical organelle involved in recycling, are impaired by levodopa concentrations observed in patients. These data are important given the well-known lysosomal dysfunction observed in PD. Our data sheds light on how levodopa, the most important drug in the treatment of PD, may contribute to sensory deficits in PD
