    DigiEfekt study: Opiq interaction

    No full text
Opiqu andmed on osa Digiefekti projekti (DIGIVARA5) andmekogust, mis koosneb andmefailist (“opiq_data”), mille teisele lehele on lisatud koodiraamat, ning Opiqu teemaraportist (“opiq_report_eng”). E-raamatutest on kiirelt saanud tõhus õppevahend, mis on leidnud Eesti põhikoolides laialdast kasutust. Enne 2021/22. Millised on e-raamatute kasutamise käitumuslikud mustrid? E-õpikute haridusliku efektiivsuse teema on püsinud teaduskirjanduses aktuaalne üle kümne aasta. E-raamatud võivad parandada õppematerjalide kättesaadavust (Yaya, 2015), samuti võivad need aidata õpilastel õppematerjalidest “süsteemsemalt” aru saada (Noor, Embong, & Ridhuan, 2012), hõlbustada õpilaste ligipääsu informatsioonile ning kardinaalselt muuta lugemis- ning informatsiooni analüüsimise protsesse (Blummer & Kenton, 2020). MacNish’i jt (2017) uuring tõestab e-raamatute efektiivsust probleemipõhises õppes. Samuti on näidatud, et interaktiivsete, multimeedia elemente sisaldavate e-raamatute kasutamine loodusainetes toob kaasa õpilaste uudishimu olulise kasvu (Herianto et al., 2022). Paraku on enamikus uuringutes, mis käsitlevad e-raamatute kasutamist õppimises, pööratud üsna vähe tähelepanu e-raamatute logiandmete analüüsimisele (Ogata, 2015). On aga väga tähtis uurida, kuidas neid andmeid e-raamatute sisu ja hariduse kvaliteedi parandamiseks kasutada saaks. Klassikalised andmeanalüüsi meetodid võivad siin osutuda ebapiisavaks (Cerezo et al., 2020). Seepärast kasutati meetoditena järjestusanalüüsi ja protsessikaevet - uuriti õpilaste käitumuslikke mustreid Opiqu kasutamisel ja selgitati välja, millised strateegiad on e-raamatute kasutamisel efektiivsed.[ENG] Opiq data is part of the DigiEfekt project (DIGIVARA5) dataset. It consists of a data file (“opiq_data”) with a codebook on sheet 2 and an Opiq theme report (“opiq_report_eng”). E-Books have quickly turned from a trendy and curious novelty into an effective educational tool that is widely used in Estonian basic schools. All of Estonia’s 500+ schools had used Opiq until the study year 2021/2022. Given the popularity of the E-Book as a pedagogical tool, several questions immediately arise: are E-Books really that effective in education? How much do modern E-Books differ from their printed analogues, and what is the difference? What behavioural patterns of interaction with E-Books exist? The topic of the effectiveness of the use of electronic workbooks in education has remained relevant in the scientific literature over the past decade. E-Books can ease obtaining educational materials (Yaya, 2015); they can also help students understand learning materials “more systematically” (Noor, Embong, & Ridhuan, 2012); E-Books can enhance students’ access to information and can also help “revolutionize the processes of reading, analyzing information” (Blummer & Kenton, 2020). A study by MacNish et al. (2017) confirms the effectiveness of the use of E-Books in problem-based learning; also, there appears to be a significant increase in student curiosity in Science courses when using interactive multimedia E-Books (Herianto et al., 2022). However, as Ogata (2015) mentioned, most studies dedicated to E-book-based learning pay little attention to analysing the e-book data logs. However, it is imperative to investigate how these logs can be used to improve E-Books’ content and the quality of learning and education. The use of classical data analysis methods in this field may not be sufficient (Cerezo et al., 2020). Therefore, sequence analysis and process mining were used to study clusters of students based on their behavioural patterns of interaction with Opiq and identify effective strategies for interacting with the E-Book.Raporti soovituslik viide: Opanasenko, Y., & Pedaste, M., Siiman, L. Humanist Greek Texts from Estonia and Latvia

    No full text
The dataset provides information about Humanist Greek texts from and connected to Estonia and Latvia (from the 16th to 21st century), displayed in the HUMGRAECA database (https://humgraeca.utlib.ut.ee/), including additional information concerning these texts. The data were gathered by Janika Päll and inserted by Janika Päll and partly by Marilyn Fridolin within the framework of the collaborative research project "Helleno-Nordica. The Humanist Greek Heritage of the Swedish Empire", Swedish Research Council Project number 2016-01881 (PI Johanna Akujärvi, Lund, 1.1.2017−31.12.2022, https://projekt.ht.lu.se/helleno-nordica/), whereas most of the data concerning Estonia were already gathered during Estonian Research Agency’s grant PUT 132 Humanist Greek in Early Modern Estonia and Livonia: a bridge to modern and ancient European culture (lead Janika Päll, Tartu UL, 1.1.2013-31.12.2016)

Hungary: Bibliographical database of Hungarian journalism and media research related to risks and opportunities for deliberative communication (2000–2020)

    No full text
The dataset is produced within the framework of the HORIZON 2020 project called MEDIADELCOM (Critical Exploration of Media Related Risks and Opportunities for Deliberative Communication: Development Scenarios of the European Media Landscape) in 2021-2022. The dataset is one of the 14 single-country data sets included in the consolidated file of country data sets (with 5623 entries), all in msw.xlsx format. All tables are searchable by 20 variables: full reference, year of publication, national/international publication, language, country the publication deals with, time of empirical data gathering, type of publication, open access/not OA, where referenced, focus on journalism domain, focus on media related competences domain, focus on media usage patterns domain, focus on legal and ethical regulations domain, type of the approach, original key words, main topic, comments, country. As the data has been gathered specifically about the research done in four mentioned domains concerning potential ROs emanating from the news media development for deliberative communication, this database does NOT cover ALL the academic publications in the fields of media and journalism research. Consequently, the above-mentioned conditions limit the generalizations and comparisons based on the current database
