Aim - Past studies support the importance of organizational justice and its impact on employees\u27 work attitudes. There are many factors that affect the employees’ work attitude but their perceptions about organizational justice and support are significant factors. Many studies have been conducted to investigate the relationship between Organizational justice and trust but there is a lack of research to measure the mediating role of perceived support. This study examines the role of perceived support as a mediator between organizational justice and trust. Methodology - The sample of the study is 170 faculty members of public and private sector universities of Pakistan.  A cross-sectional design with a standardized questionnaire is used. Findings - Results indicate that distributive, procedural and interactional justice is direct antecedents of organizational and supervisory trust with the demonstration perceived organizational support as a partial mediator between procedural justice and organizational trust. Distributive justice is related to organizational trust both directly and indirectly through perceived organizational support and supervisory trust. Finally, interactional justice is a direct and indirect predictor of supervisory trust through perceived supervisor support

Scale and Skill in Mutual Fund Management: Evidence from Norway

    Get PDF
Using a sample free of survivorship bias and several risk-adjusted performance benchmarks to identify effects of scale on mutual fund performance in the Norwegian market, I find mixed evidence that both large and small funds underperform as against the middle-sized funds in the period 2005-2018. Controlling for relevant factors in panel data regressions, I find that, on average, performance worsens with an increase in size while giving support to initial findings of nonlinearity. The relationship is most robust after 2013 and seems to be affected by competition in the market as well as fund inflows. I do not find any empirical evidence to support the liquidity hypothesis

Moreover, non-parametric analysis methods were used to test the hypotheses of the study because the data did not show normal distribution (p <0.01). The hypotheses were analyzed with Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis H tests. Originality – The study will help the policymakers to develop projects and training programs to promote entrepreneurship in the generation Z and following generations

Further, ethical leadership positively impacts employees’ intention to blow the whistle at the workplace. Furthermore, the analysis showed that interactional justice moderates the relationship between ethical leadership and intention to blow the whistle of employees Practical Implications- This research gives a different perspective to the managers to develop such a culture that enables an honest and trustworthy environment, which may enable the employees to point out the wrongdoings they witness while working at the workplace

Evaluating the Heterogeneous Effect of Firm Risk on Firm Value

    Get PDF
Purpose- This paper aims to investigate the effect of firm risk on the firm value to see how the firm value is changing when the risk level is changed. Our result indicates that a higher level of risk can reduce firm value.  Design/Methodology- We apply a Bayesian causal technique for a sample data set of US public firms. The causal approach helps us to focus on the reliable and unbiased results instead of the association-based findings. Findings- The results show a negative effect of risk on the firms’ value for the sample data. However, we investigate the potential effect of the risk across the distribution of the firm value. We witness the more substantial effect of risk on firms with a higher value. Practical Implications- Helps firms to evaluate their risk and its effect, so they can adjust their decisions and take actions to reduce the undesired effects of firm risk
