No full textThis project provides a comprehensive database of cabinet ministers in Sub-Sahara Africa. It contains multiple datasets.
First, the ACP dataset provides comprehensive information on the appointment, dismissal, and rearrangement of ministers, along with minister’s time in office for 40 African countries covering the time period from independence of each state until the end of 2019.
Additionally, the ECAG dataset provides individual-level data on the ethnic affiliation of ministers serving in 37 African countries.
Both datasets are linked through a Wikidata integration. Each minister in both datasets shares a unique Wikidata identifier (QID). The QID can also be used to fetch additional biographic or demographic information from Wikidata
