    The Effectiveness of Student Electronic Worksheet-Based on Project-Based Learning to Improve Student Critical Thinking Skills in Green Chemistry Materials

    Critical thinking skills are essential abilities that students must have to face the challenges of learning in the 21st century. However, the PISA test results in 2022 showed that the critical thinking skills of Indonesian students were still low compared to the average OECD country. This research aims to produce electronic student worksheets based on project-based learning (PjBL) to improve students' critical thinking skills on green chemistry materials. This type of research is development research with a one-group pretest-posttest design and uses the 4D model from Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel’s (1974). This 4D development model consists of four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate, but is limited to the development stage only. This research was conducted at SMAN 7 Surabaya, with the research subjects being class X-6 students, a total of 28 people. The feasibility of this learning media was reviewed from its effectiveness. The effectiveness was measured through cognitive tests with scores above the learning objective completeness criteria ≥ 75%, which showed a percentage of 100% classical completeness. Effectiveness is also seen from the results of the critical thinking ability test. Critical thinking ability test data was tested with the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and obtained a significance of < 0.05, so further tests were carried out using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test and obtained a significance of 0.000, which stated that there was a difference between pretest and posttest data. Thus, the learning media developed can be declared effective based on the results of cognitive test data and critical thinking ability test data. Unlike previous studies that focused on creative thinking skills, this study uniquely targets critical thinking skills using PjBL

    Implementation of Interactive Learning Media Based on Virtual Laboratory on Student Science Literacy Skills

    Virtual laboratories allow students to simulate experiments/practical work. This study aims to describe the application of interactive learning media based on virtual laboratories on students' scientific literacy skills in the material of substances and changes. This study uses a one-group pretest-posttest design, with three classes as research samples. The study was conducted in two schools, namely SMP Negeri 1 Tilango and SMP Negeri 1 Tilongkabila. The results of the study showed a significant increase in students' scientific literacy skills after students participated in learning using virtual laboratory media based on PhET Simulation. This media provides students with the opportunity to conduct virtual experiments, which has an impact on increasing their understanding of concepts and critical thinking skills. Based on the results of the analysis, the average posttest score of students was higher than the pretest score, which was 89.35 in the experimental class, 91.90 in replication class 1, and 88.64 in replication class 2. This fact shows that the use of virtual laboratories plays a positive role in improving student learning achievement. Thus, interactive learning media based on virtual laboratories can be used as an effective alternative to support science learning at the junior high school level

    Development of Spinning Wheel-Based Question Thread Pull Media on Atomic Structure Material to Train Student Communication Skills

    Atomic structure material is important to learn and understand because it is the basis of chemistry learning, but in reality, it is still found that students' academic abilities are lacking in this material. In addition, students' communication skills are still relatively poor in the learning process. Therefore, innovative learning media is needed that can improve students' academic ability in atomic structure material and communication skills at the same time. Media are materials and tools used to help the process of delivering information. One of the media that can be an alternative to overcome existing chemical problems is the spinning wheel-based question thread pull media, which is a media in the form of practice questions, and the answers must be communicated directly. The purpose of this study was to determine the validity of spinning wheel-based question thread pull media as a learning media to train communication skills on atomic structure material. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D (four-D) model, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. However, this research is limited to the development stage only, which focuses on media validation. The research instrument used was a validation sheet given to three validators, namely two lecturers from the Chemistry Education Study Program and one chemistry teacher. The data analysis technique used is the mode. The results showed that the content validity and construct validity of the spinning wheel-based question thread pull media in each aspect of the assessment were ≥ 3, with a good category. So it can be concluded that the spinning wheel-based question thread pull media developed is declared valid as a learning media in schools to train the communication skills of class X senior high schools or Islamic high school students on atomic structure material. For further research, it is recommended that the media carry out a limited trial as well, so that its practicality and effectiveness can be known

    Nearpod Integration in Science Learning for Junior High School Students: A Review

    Learning media represents a significant innovation in educational technology, with Nearpod emerging as a valuable tool for enhancing interactive science education in junior high schools. The current generation of students often experiences boredom during traditional learning methods, necessitating the adoption of engaging platforms like Nearpod to facilitate effective material delivery. This study aims to evaluate the application of Nearpod in teaching energy concepts within junior high school science curricula. Employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology guided by the PRISMA protocol, this research involved a comprehensive literature search using the Google Scholar database, supported by the Publish or Perish (PoP) application. Out of 386 identified research papers, 11 met the criteria for detailed analysis. The analysis reveals that the integration of Nearpod in junior high school science education is relatively underexplored, especially in topics such as energy. However, findings indicate that Nearpod is an effective medium for fostering engagement, critical thinking, and learning outcomes. These results encourage science educators to incorporate Nearpod into inquiry-based or project-based learning to support more interactive, student-centered instruction. The review is limited to open-access studies conducted in Indonesia between 2015 and 2025, focusing solely on junior high school science education

    Identification of Invertebrate Species in the Coastal Area of Labuhan Lalar Village, West Sumbawa Regency

    Coastal biodiversity plays a crucial role in maintaining the stability and productivity of marine ecosystems. Among the key contributors to these systems are marine invertebrates, particularly molluscs and crustaceans, which fulfil important ecological functions such as nutrient cycling, water filtration, and forming part of the marine food web. However, scientific data on the diversity of marine invertebrates in many Indonesian coastal regions remains limited, especially in remote areas like Labuhan Lalar Village, West Sumbawa Regency. This study aims to identify and classify marine invertebrate species found along the coast of Labuhan Lalar. An exploratory research approach was applied through direct field surveys along the shoreline, using a 3-meter transect from the high tide line toward the sea. Invertebrate specimens were collected manually and identified based on external morphological characteristics. A descriptive analysis was conducted with reference to scientific literature to determine species classification. The research identified a total of 15 marine invertebrate species belonging to two major phyla: Mollusca and Arthropoda. These species were further grouped into three classes: Gastropoda (10 species), Bivalvia (4 species), and Malacostraca (1 species). The presence of these diverse taxa indicates that the coastal ecosystem of Labuhan Lalar remains ecologically functional and supports a variety of marine invertebrate life. In conclusion, the coastal area of Labuhan Lalar demonstrates a relatively high level of marine invertebrate biodiversity. These findings may serve as baseline data for future biodiversity monitoring, conservation planning, and the development of sustainable coastal management strategies in the region

    The Effect of the JIRE Collaborative Learning Model Based on Phylearn Media on Students Learning Outcomes in the Topic of Heat and Temperature in School

    Collaborative learning has the potential to address these challenges by promoting problem-solving through collective participation within groups. This research investigates the effect of the Jire Collaborative Learning model integrated with Phylearn media on students’ learning outcomes regarding heat and temperature. The study was motivated by low student achievement, primarily attributed to conventional teaching methods to engage students in active participation. This quasi-experimental research employed a one-group pre-test-post-test design involving 25 seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Monano. The Jire Collaborative model emphasizes active student collaboration, while Phylearn provides interactive multimedia support to help visualize abstract scientific concepts. The findings reveal a significant improvement in students’ cognitive performance (levels C2-C4) after the intervention, indicating that the integrated approach effectively improves conceptual understanding. This influence is demonstrated by the difference in students’ learning outcomes before and after applying the JIRE model, where the average pre-test score of 46.4 increased to 81.05 in the post-test. The t-test results indicate that this difference is statistically significant, with a significance value of 2.10, less than 0.05. These findings confirm a significant difference between students’ pre-test and post-test scores after applying the JIRE collaborative learning model, indicating that this model effectively improves students’ learning outcomes. These results suggest that technology-supported collaborative learning is a promising strategy for improving the quality of science education at the junior high school level

There are three centers of goose domestication in the world, namely Europe, China and Egypt. Geese can be developed as a meat producers as a functional food source, as well as by-products in the form of feathers which have high economic value. In order to produce high performance, geese need a balanced feed, which contains enough metabolic energy, crude protein and macro minerals. Geese can be developed as an alternative poultry meat producer to meet the need for poultry meat from other chickens, ducks and muscovy ducks

    Structure of Sea Urchin (Echinoidea) Community in The Tidal Zone of Kuta Mandalika Bay

    This study aims to examine the structure of sea urchin (Echinoidea) communities in the tidal zone of Kuta Mandalika Bay. The research was conducted in August 2024 at three different stations: River Estuary (Station 1), KEK Tourism Area (Station 2), and Mangrove Ecosystem (Station 3). Data collection was carried out using purposive sampling with line transects and plots to identify species, abundance, and environmental parameters (substrate and salinity). The results identified four sea urchin species: Diadema setosum, Tripneustes gratilla, and Enchinometra mathei. Station 2 exhibited the highest diversity and abundance (H' = 2,31; 68.70% abundance), characterized by a rocky sand substrate and salinity of 30 ppt. In contrast, no sea urchins were found at Station 1, which had a muddy sand substrate and lower salinity (28 ppt). Station 3 showed moderate diversity (H' = 1.77) with 50% abundance. Environmental factors such as substrate type, salinity, and the presence of mangrove vegetation significantly influenced the distribution of sea urchins. This study highlights the critical role of habitat characteristics in shaping sea urchin community structure in the tidal zone

Theiresults oftthe studyiconcluded thatithe single factoriof potassium fertilizer and PSB doses significantly affected the fruit diameter and fruit flesh thickness. The interaction of potassium fertilizer and PSB administration significantly affected the fruitpweight per-plant andithe level of-sweetness. Thisistudy provides information for melon farmers to manage fertilization and PSB applications efficiently, so as to increase productivity

    Insect Species Composition in Local Durian Loji Plantation in Karawang, West Jawa

    Durian (Durio zibethinus) belong to a popular fruits in Southeast Asia and is widely distributed across various regions, particularly in Indonesia. Karawang regency, as one of the part of west java province, is one of the producers of local durian, known as durian loji. Successful durian cultivation is influenced by various biotic factors, among which insect biodiversity plays a critical role in pollination, pest control, and nutrient cycling. However, comprehensive studies on insect diversity in durian agroecosystems, particularly in Karawang, remain scarce. This study aimed to explore the insect community structure within Loji durian plantations to provide baseline data on species composition and ecological roles. Field sampling was conducted using three methods: sweep nets for aerial insects, beating sheets for foliage-dwelling species, and pitfall traps for ground-active arthropods. A total of 29 insect morphospecies from 9 orders were identified, including Coleoptera, Hymenoptera, Diptera, Dermaptera, Orthoptera, Hemiptera, Odonata, Mantodea, and Lepidoptera. Our findings show that all morphospecies occupied various trophic levels, including herbivores, predators, and decomposers. These findings highlight the ecological significance of insects in maintaining durian plantation health and suggest the need for sustainable farming practices to conserve beneficial species while managing pests. Further research should investigate the seasonal variations and the impact of agricultural practices on insect community structure and diversity
